i was just wondering is there an armed variant of the UH72 ? since they are replacing some of the OH58 kiowa what this
@scwhk1
@scwhk1 8 лет назад
No. There is no direct replacement to the OH58D.

Since the UH-72 is a direct copy of the H145M Airbus helicopter, only the rear part of the H145M has a fenestron, instead of the classic tail rotor of the UH-72. The H145M is a light combat helicopter, and an extremely good and capable one. I don't understand why this variant for the US Army, the UH-72 Lakota, is not armed?! Since the H145M in the combat version is quite well armed, with the H-FORCE system. The helicopter can be fitted with an incremental modular weapon system to engage conventional and asymmetric threats in the battlefield. It is compatible with seven-tube and 12-tube rocket launchers, a 20mm cannon pod, a 12.7mm machine gun pod, and air-to-surface missiles. It can also be configured to carry laser-guided rockets, 70mm, unguided rocket S-8 80mm, Spike anti-armor rocket ... As well as equipped with the HForce weapon management system for light-attack missions. Survivability of the battlefield support helicopter The helicopter integrates self-sealing fuel tanks, ballistic protection, infrared (IR) suppressor, and crashworthy seats. The low-profile, crashworthy fuselage and redundant flight systems improve the survivability of the helicopter. Electronic warfare systems such as a radar warning receiver, laser warning receiver, missile approach warning system and chaff / flare launchers further improve the endurance in high-threat scenarios.... I don't see any of that on the UH-72 Lakota, obviously it doesn't exist. So the UH-72 Lakota can certainly be a replacement for both the UH-1 and the OH-58. I just don't know why it is not produced in the US in a combat version?

Boonies authorized in CONUS? When did that happen?

2003 MARINE CORPS UNIFORM REGULATIONS: MARINE CORPS ORDER P1020.34G W/CH 1-5 REGULATIONS FOR WEAR OF THE COMBAT FIELD CAP (BOONIE HAT) - COMMENT: CHANGE THE BOONIE HAT REGULATIONS (PARAGRAPH 3038.4 OF REFERENCE (B)) TO READ: THE COMBAT UTILITY FIELD CAP MAY BE WORN DURING FIELD TYPE EXERCISES ONLY, AND MAY NOT BE PRESCRIBED FOR PARADES, REVIEWS OR OTHER CEREMONIES. WHEN WORN, THE COMBAT UTILITY FIELD CAP BRIM WILL BE WORN STRAIGHT OR ANGLED SLIGHTLY DOWN. < no CONUS restriction. Taken from the 2012 USARCENT Standards manual: ACU Patrol Capand ACU Sun (Boonie) hat: The ACU Patrol Cap is the primary headgear for all Soldiers as the duty uniform headgear. The ACU Patrol Cap and ACU Sun (Boonie) hat are worn, when the Kevlar or ACH is not appropriate. This may include work details, in the field, or as determined by the commander.If headgear is placed in the pocket, it will not protrude or present a bulky appearance. Do not block or “Ranger Roll” your ACU cap on the top or the sides. When wearing the boonie hat chinstraps can be worn under the chin, around the back of the head and neck, or tucked inside the boonie hat. Nametags are required on the ACU patrol cap. < No CONUS restriction, as it is referenced as a "Sun" hat one should not be surprised to see it worn on the flight in ARIZONA. This was a change of order away from the beret, the beret rule itself was new, and had only been in effect for 10 years... yes it took them ten years to figure out the Beret for daily wear was a piss poor idea. Boonie Hat has been Daily wear clear since 2011, in ACU.

The Army and air national guard is a state ran Army.Witch means instead of taking orders from the President they manly take orders from there states governor.However the president can activate them to go to war zones whenever he/she feels nesary.

All national guard goes through the same training as regular army, boot camp , etc. They can also deploy with army units , and have been present in Africa , the middle East etc. They get all the same benefits as regular army basically no special privileges they all graduate from army basic training as soldiers , so they are treated as such. Just operate and are organized differently.

And you think other helicopters are not crashing? Versions of the BK117 are fling since 1979, it was not the first crash and it will not be the last. The line of variants started with the BK117 - EC145 (2000) - H145 (2011). The UH-72 is a version of the EC145 (EC645).

The crash was caused by human failure, not by the helicopter.
