2017 Cub Cadet CT2 42" loosened up a belt pulley at 20.1 hours. Thankfully it was an easy fix. I did not have to remove the deck as I had initially thought (per Cub's instruction manual), as I was able to reach everything I needed to get to. Enjoy!

My mower deck is vibrating to the point-i think it wants to blow up.... How do i tighten it... I made the mistake of sending my cub c out to get a tire changed...and the people kept it for 2 weeks.. i finally told them to send it back i would fix the tire-well when they sent it back it had a new problem with the mower deck.....I keep wondering if they switched parts out on me...My cadet was only 3 months old.....

leah So sorry to hear that, that's awful! I have a reply video uploading as I type this, so hopefully it helps. I'm a bit under the weather so I hope I make sense with all the cold meds I'm on. :)

The front PTO pulley "guard thing" does NOT have to be removed! 1:28 Sorry, thank you for taking the time to make the video but honestly I didn't watch the rest of this after the "guard thing" removal recommendation because anything that follows may also be inaccurate. Nice lawn tho.

Al Kydah You're right, you don't have to take it off, and if you watch the rest of the video, I didn't have to remove the deck afterall. Assuming the rest of the video may be "inaccurate" because of one thing you may not do is a bit pretentious. Again, I encourage you to watch the whole video. Cub Cadet Operators Manual; Section 4 -Product Care, page 19, Service Deck Removal Step 5 reads as follows; "Remove the hex screw securing the engine pulley keeper rod to the frame. See figure 4-1." Take care.
