@@meowchie310 just saying. Never said it was good. I dont buy much food from the dollar tree. There are better ways to spend wisely food wide. Like Aldi's for one. And meats not expensive if U know where to buy it. And U get way more value.
Besides, better to use the meat once ones dead than just have it wasted in a casket under ground. Or cremated. I mean honestly. Being used is better than nothing. Once we are dead our vessel is useless. Its served its propose. I dont know about you, but I'm an Organ Donor. Just saying. But the original point was that the higher quality meat IS used for higher quality use. And the really low quality stuff ends up in animal feed. Hense again not thrown out.
Just did a little research. Chef's Requested meat processing facility has been permanently closed(so the company no longer exists I guess). This gentleman's opinion was right on the money.
Period. I dun struggled plenty before in my life but made it a priority to at least get the 5 for 20 deal at giant eagle n make that baby streeeeeetch. I bet ppl who eat this bullshit keep cigarettes & brew. 🚮🤦🏽♀️
Not necessarily, they could sell it for a short amount of time just for people to buy and try and make some money off completely junk that was going to be thrown away anyway and that, should be illegal in the food industry.
Probably a LOT of meat glue, and I wouldn't be surprised of the beef was just cuts of meat nobody would've ate. Either that, or this is entirely artificial.
For real. The nutritional information is the biggest red flag -- for 80/20 beef, a 1/4 pound serving like Chef Crap advertises has 288 calories. That's all I need to know it's gonna get worse from there. It's not healthier meat, there's just no calories in water! 😂🤮
She nailed it. I searched this company. Thank goodness they are closed for good. The ppl who worked there have no conscience and should have to eat that crap for the rest of their lives. Probly wont happen though... looked like they all had really nice vehicles in the parking lot. Criminal offense??? It should be
@@Dubz0408 If I was Wolfiepit, I wouldn't hold back and call myself a hero for bringing this shitty company down and maybe saving thousands of people from diarrhea.
(Walking into dollar tree): "Hey, looks like you guys dealt with your mouse infestation" Dollar tree employee: "Yeah, we did. On an unrelated note, we sell meat now!"
Being old and living off social security I shop at the dollar discount stores. I too have bought some really crappy food and wonder what kind of greed it takes to sell it.
Bro come on.. in no way is this a good deal, you get fuck all meat. Its disgusting and for a few bucks u could get some good ground beef from an actual grocery store
Just FYI, under the ingredients on the package, they have to list them by weight from highest to lowest, so seeing water in second place should give you the red alert.
You can also compare the nutrition facts. Google says that 4oz of regular (30% fat) ground beef has about 375 calories and 16g of protein. But this product only has 260 calories and 13g of protein. So by averaging those proportions we can estimate that this product is only about 75% beef and the other 25% is water.
Honestly I work in one the best dog food factories in the US. Our factory is cleaner than most human food factories as we have very high ISO ratings. I would eat any product in our factory before and after it's been made into dog food. I wouldn't touch the stuffs hes showing lol
I mostly feel sorry for that poor animal that was slaughtered to end up in such a low quality, inedible product marketed at poor people. If it was an animal at all.
Dollar tree asm here. Don't buy our meat or or frozen meals. They are disgusting. Our snacks and canned food is actually really good tho. Dollar tree has the best value when it comes to candy, snacks and canned goods. School supplies/ crafts as well
I love the people who get pissy at these videos like "we don't have a choice, we need these items". When Larry tells them that not only are these not a bargain they're effectively poison.
well some poor people like to buy other things than food so this is a good choice... you need guts of iron tho edit this doesnt look much worse or better than the pork beef mix i eat quite often so no its not bad its just matter of what seasoning u use... some onion and tomato.. mm
@@pertsa9967 This is unacceptable.. if you gotta get beef, spend the extra 2$ to get something edible. NOBODY should stoop this low. This is coming from someone who was frugal as hell while being homeless for a year.
@@dirtpounder The thing is, with how much water is in these packages, its roughly the same price as just buying fresh ground beef. Hell, a lot of fresh food cooking is pretty cheap with the right ingredients. If you love eating meat, you can stretch out your meat /ground beef by incorporating more onions for example, and onions are dirt cheap. Bought a bunch of vegetables for a specific dish and have some left over? Just throw them in a pot of water and make a soup, it doesn't matter if they're getting a little old or if you have uneven portions. I think the bigger issue is that people just don't know how to cook and they don't know how to properly stock/use foodstuffs in the kitchen. Like little tricks. Have a half cartoon of chicken stock left over? Make a quick soup (Like egg drop soup).
@@Jaigarful exactly, it's all about knowing how to cook. I'm a college student, this month I spent 70€/85$ on groceries - vegetarian, in season fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain products and high quality dairy products (real cheese from free range cows). I had three hot and healthy meals every single day.
You have to wonder how a company could sell bologna for less than a dollar a pound. My guess is it's made from the male baby chickens they kill immediately after hatching and fed into grinders
Listen, I remember when the dollar tree only had off brand dry goods and that is the way it should have stayed. With the exception of the sugar, fake flavoring and water frozen pops, nothing else should be in your basket food wise. When I noticed they stared having a fridge and frozen section I said oh no....wth is in there lol. Don't do it follks!
Yeah, but what did he use after the paper towel? Ya'll sounding like paper towel doesn't sound apart in your mouth at times. "I don't know why I swallowed a fly......"
I was put of a job for 3 months and lived off potatoes, good source of protein, taste amazing most ways they're cooked. Just stock up on spices and condiments, and you're set for some good potatoes. *That life sucked through, never go 3 months living off potatoes and having no job to support yourself, nor unemployment*
Just re-found your channel and remembered how I used to sit there and watch these all night! Great content, I think I'm about to binge watch all of them
@@jadedpedal8824 check out his June 2019 upload with the bacon wrapped filets around 9:45 he shares their private messages they had about his videos ruining them
I worked in a meat processing plant for a while and there was this bin where we'd throw the weird lookin' meat chunks in to. I always assumed that the stuff was the stuff being put into dog food, but I wouldn't doubt that some of it ended up in products like this.
Seeing the content being poured out activated my fight or flight instinct. That looks so awful that even from behind a screen, my body instinctively went into life preservation mode.
It makes me so sad to think that people eat this. And of course those that don’t get to eat much at all. We throw away so much good food in the US, there should be no need for this kind of product whatsoever. 😞
@@BGTech1 Homeless people here in my City eat better than I do... On top of the free coffee and breakfast sandwiches they get every morning, they get cleaned up after for free, and then handed free crack and heroin too... Must be nice...
My local grocery store has a really nice meat counter that grinds its own beef every day. The policy is, Any of this fresh ground beef that doesn’t get sold is thrown out. The trick is to show up within an hour of closing. 80 percent of the time the beef is sold out. But if it isn’t, they will sell it for a buck a pound. Great way of getting 10-15 pounds of good quality ground beef for CHEAP.
That One Guy wtffff I work at subway and we don't discount our cookies. They always stay in the display case until they're sold, so sometimes they're as hard as a rock
Did a little math. There is supposed to be 65 grams of protein in 16 ounces of ground beef, the crap at Dollar tree only had 52 grams. At 4 grams an ounce of real beef, you're getting 3.2 ounces of water per 16 ounces of Dollar tree beef. Which ends up being 20% water. I think I did that right lol.
I did the same math but used calories and got a different number. 520 calories for half a pound vs 753 calories for 70/30 beef. I’m sure it’s not higher than 70/30 because the more fat the cheaper. Plus legally if it’s called ground beef and not round or chuck it has to be 70/30. Anyway, you’re missing 233 calories out of this half pound. That’s roughly 1/3rd. So I think it’s roughly 69% “ground beef” and 31% water. That’s my math so YOU, THE PEOPLE! ☝️ don’t have to do it!
After Dollar Tree stopped using Chef’s Choice ground beef they and some other dollar stores started carrying a brand that is ground beef, organ meat and soy blend. The yellow packets are beef flavored and the orange packets are beef and cheddar flavored. They have the texture of turkey burgers after cooking and are surprisingly edible most likely due to the organ meat added. They are still two quarter pound patties for a dollar. I will still occasionally eat them when I am very broke or the price of real ground beef is too high.
Update : Since Dollar Tree and most other dollar stores went up to $1.25 on most everything these meat patties come out to 4 packages for $5 which works out to 2 lbs of ground meat for $5. Now sometimes your local grocery store has sales that will match or beat that price. Sometimes this is the better buy. In recipes like sloppy Joe’s, Chili, and hamburger helper you won’t notice the difference that much. During the 1980’s when meat prices were high people were buying goat meat and other interesting things instead of beef because it was too expensive.
As long as the sheeple just continue to allow these sociopath politicians to let corporations run our lives than this will continue... when will these fucking sheeple wake up and hold these evil fucks accountable
Because these videos are addicting. I think they’re so interesting because the food is so disguised but this guy still takes his time out to show us how to cook it and eat it.
I know some Dog food actually comes from Smithfield my bf works there and says whatever falls on the floor is literally grinded up and used as dog meat and you don’t wanna know what’s on them floors 🤢
