As retired service person this is a crazy idea if you are recruiting people from the Islamic population you will be in for BIG TROUBLE 😊

When I served in the 1990s I had to produce documentation showing how both of my parents legally immigrated to the U.K. with naturalisation details, birth and death certificates. I also had to list every country I had ever been to with entry and exit dates. When I took the oath in 1992, the size of the Army was 145,000. Today (2024) it is 76,000.

I am technically from a "BAME" background and I would take what this guy says a step further and say diversity and inclusion should have no place anywhere. I work in the aerospace industry and like many other safety critical industries - when you start recruiting for anything other than competence it has serious safety implications. Just take a look at what happened to Boeing with the alaska airlines and go have a read of their diversity and inclusion policy. Not saying this was the core issue but certainly a contributing factor. Diversity and inclusion is bs, and I don't want to get a job because of some token position, I want to know I earned it.

When I joined there were 70 recruits in my platoon the Sgt said he would pass 30 , you had to be the best of those 70 to pass

I spent 12 years under the colours in the special services and was proud of it, now we have the Irish pursuing an old soldier for doing his job (thanks to this government and Blair) and the powers to be talking about diversity. I joined the UK army in 1994. I returned to my training depot years later and recruits had SLAM's (single living accommodation military) decked out with comfy beds, furniture and lovely quilts. Recruits could yellow card an instructor twice or even red card once. They have taken over discipline and control. Friends of mine sacked being instructors for the fear of their careers being tarnished or completely ruined. Coming to the end of my career I buried my head in the sand to try and not witness what was going on around us. Less than half of fighting aged folk would join the army now. There are hundreds of thousands of fighting aged males arriving who could be housed in new army bases, trained and sent out to fight as they are the ones with an agenda to fight for their country. Cannon fodder and no pension to earn. Fight to return home. Why should they live in comfort, being paid and complaining while their hosts send out their own citizens ad cannon fodder. What happens to their studies, jobs, houses, hopes and dreams. Where's the moral at war knowing asylum seekers are in their community laughing and in full parade Infront of their loved ones left behind. No country to fight for and a toxic Royal family not worthy. Fighting for the brother next to them or is it a pronoun a trans something, a whatever demanding their rights sat in the middle of the main supply route with an orange vest on stating just stop the war? Pure sickening madness.

The Navy is full of three, four and broad stripe officers who are contributing nothing to maintaining a sea going service. We have had more Admirals than major warships (frigates and above) for many years. I have no doubt that thie situation very similar in the other services.

Over 50 years service to the Crown, 16 years in the Army. Like your caller, if I were young enough I'd still choose the same path all over again but would not play this silly game and if that did not suit my commanders then it would be up to them to get rid of me. He's also spot on with his assessment of the potential risk. I held a high security vetting and worked in circles where there had to be a zero trust policy in place. We are standing on the abyss - it's time to wake up not woke up.

I joined the army in 1978. Depot of the parachute regiment at Browning barracks, Aldershot. The training & training staff were tough & scary. What is our armed forces coming to & why ?

I am a Veteran of 18 years. I loved my time serving our Queen. I believed in my Oath of Allegiance and would have continued to do so, right up until 'diversity' hires became commonplace and I, as a white English man was made to feel like I was a 'racist' or 'bigot' just for being a proud English an that believed in defending my country. With all the mass immigration, the country is not what I was born into, brought up in, nor chose to proudly help defend. With all this in mind and with talk of the public being potentially called up if we went to war, I can tell you all that I would simply refuse to get back into uniform and put myself at risk for a country that I do not recognise, nor believe in anymore.

Gurkhas, & Sikhs served British Army 200 years for Royal family 1st. Navajos contributed to British ww2 Victory. They asked for no special requirement, no proper equipment but a passion to serve Great Britain. Is " diversity" or was it an issue? Different communities cannot be put into " diversity" category. Clearly issue is multiculturalism & immigration. Coming back to making things British,guided by English culture in a way that works for our economy growth, business & overseas wellbeing.

When joining the army money isn't further most in potential recruits mind. Its a way of life, its a vocation. If you joined purely because of the money you're not likely stay long, probably 5 to 10 years at a stretch. It's tough, it's physical and mentally demanding, it's uncomfortable, it can be extremely dangerous at time. This not including the hoops you have to dive through and the courses and qualifications you have to pass to be even considered for promotion. So no don't bother if you're there for easy money and an easy time.

Having served with both rn a d reservforces, i a. Glad i did it then and not now. Trouble is most recuitment is via a recruiment age cy. They know nothing about haw the military works. And is frankly a joke, i went to a armed forces recruitment office who are serving or former service people and most helpful. Unlike now, itz all gone tk pot, just box ticking, military does not work like that never did.

When I was in the army in the 1960's the army alone had 250,000 troops. Today there are 77,000, which take out support troops, we have about 30,000 frontline fighters. They are losing 25,000 troops a day some days in Ukraine, total losses there are estimated to be 150,000 russian troops and 400,000 Ukraine troops. No doubt the same number injured, or more. I can only looking at the figures, since the 1960,s. surmise that this has been a plan since then. We have 32,000 in the RAF and the same number in the navy. If we had to man all our ships at one time we would not have enough sailors. A deliberate attempt to weaken us, without us knowinng. And now with unlimited illegal migration, most of them fighting age men, perhaps the bigger threat is from inside our country, rather than anywhere else
