4:19, Paul, there's no need to be so anxious to get past the HGV. You can see he's a bit all over the place; so wait until he's settled on the inside line and then you've got a nice straight bit of dual carriageway to do the job safely.

Not only that, he is literally driving right behind the lorry. It's quite obvious Paul can't see the HGV's side mirrors, so how would the HGV be able to see him?

I certainly would have stopped before the parked car on the left. If the oncoming car also stopped then you deal with that and take control. Barrelling through is not the right way.

Paul B thinking the lorry driver has a crystal ball. Straight lines the roundabout, can’t hear any indicators (you can in his following clip) and at no point during that laughable overtake attempt could the dash cam see a full mirror on the lorry. Piss poor driving.

Also Paul B starts in the left lane, straight lines the roundabout through the right lane and back into the left lane and then moves back to the right to overtake the lorry. All within three seconds. Then sends in a clip complaining about other's lane discipline.

@@Alexsbriggs you do know the blind spot is behind the lorry in this situation? how is the lorry driver to look in the mirrors and see a car behind the trailer while going round bends? thats why its called a blind spot. there is only limited times where the mirrors would show the car behind as the lorry goes round the roundabout and the driver has a car ahead to worry about more. you need to be aware of vehicles behind, but its more important to concentrate on the vehicle in front in case they stop suddenly. the lorry is also a large vehicle, takes up more space, takes longer to get up to speed, drivers should allow for that while driving but not Paul.

Plus the car didn't need to give way. Typical cyclist. When approaching s roundabout, give way to traffic already on the roundabout and traffic emerging from the right. The car was already on the roundabout. Not hard to understand but people still mess it up

9:30 Wait, what? Sends a clip of a car driving over a crossing just missing a pedestrian, while they proceed to start to drive over the crossing when the pedestrian is barely half way over - and could have easily stumbled or fallen backwards when the other car failed to stop. That's one reason why you should NEVER move until all pedestrians are back on the footpath, incase they trip or fall while still on the crossing.

0:10 - What did we learn, Matt S? That's right! Wet roads can be slippery and you, unsurprisingly, ran out of talent very immediately. You can lift off a bit, but it's better to maintain your acceleration, at least until the car is straight and be careful of over-correcting, which is ultimately what sent you to the scene of the accident.

Completely forgot about this to be honest lol, sent this vid in ages ago, it was a 4" lifted suzuki jimny on cheap chinese tires, there was oil/diesel on road, it had open differential so going round corner offside rear wheel spun up on the oil (hence rpm increase) (was only given about 30%throttle throughout corner and it had a whopping 80hp 😂) after oil it hooked, gained traction and wheel speed difference was enough to flick tail end and my ol man panicked and overcorrected! Just to clear things up, still a stupid scenario, no damage to vehicle or road etc, car was sold on a few months ago and I never let my ol man drive it again 😂.

@@timaustin2000I might be mistaken, but I believe the legislation and rules read that you need to give way to vehicles approaching from the right before you cross the markings to enter the roundabout, there’s no mention of crossing a road marking first. I would be interested to know why you believe it’s about crossing a line first? (Edit to add that I do agree the cammer was driving aggressively)

@@v52gc and your right and wrong, if a vehicle is there then you need to give way, if you gave way to everything approaching you’d never get anywhere. So in this case cammer completely in the wrong, the car at the roundabout was fine, but also the cammer would not have been able to access traffic to his right

@@v52gc rather simply traffic on the roundabout is on the right, so if the transit is on the roundabout first then although physically it is to the left, by the flow of traffic around the roundabout it is traffic coming from the right. You don't give way to cars looking to join a roundabout 20m+ away from a junction.

Agree, that racing line around the roundabout makes it very difficult for the lorry to see. Although if I was a lorry driver I'd be a bit careful about moving out right after a roundabout, given that a lot of drivers do exactly that.

We can't see how close HGV is to the car in front - this might be a sudden avoidance because the car is very slow/too close, then gets away. Technically, HGV should NEVER be too close anyway, but it happens. Paul B doesn't let things 'settle' coming off the roundabout; I always do, so you see who is where & what speed, then plan the overtake.

When entering a mini roundabout, you should give way to the right if you would cause them to brake or stop, even if you are already on the roundabout - otherwise it would just turn into giving way to the left!

Paul B in the wrong in both clips. What a lemon. First by sitting behind a lorry in its blind spot, while it is ahead of you anyway and then thinking they are in the wrong?! Plus wtaf pulling back into the slipway? Very dangerous. You're in the live lane 1, regardless of the car in the slipway you had priority once you were in that lane and made it a million times worse almost causing a crash with the Morrisons lorry behind.

Drivers entering the roundabout give way to driver on the roundabout - same as drivers entering any road should give way to those already in that road. The van is on long before Chris joins, so really does nothing wrong.

@@beasty7063 You’re approaching a roundabout, a long vehicle pulls out onto the roundabout before you’re up to the give way lines, did he make a mistake? Maybe, maybe not, but now you have a decision to make. Do you a) drive towards the long vehicle and brake at the very last second to get a clip, or b) use your eyes, realise the issue, slow down slightly and carry on as normal, sans clip. I don’t think many people would say the vans emerge was perfect but does that give Chris a reason to drive like a retarded Stevie Wonder, no it does not.

What else was she supposed to do? She can’t pull out as if the driver in front carries on then she would have gone into the back of them or she would have had the lorry rear end her. She had no choice but to pull back into the slip and wait for a gap to be able to pull out.

Top speed was briefly 82mph but he should have cut his speed as soon as he sees the silver car coming across. He's relying on the nearside estate car not swerving out towards lane 2 - which some drivers might do!

I wasn't saying 'just pull out' because that would be stupid. We don't know what the cammer could see. They might not have seen the BMW, or it was coming faster than they realised, or it wasn't visible when they pulled out & arrived quickly because of its higher speed.

I was in the correct lane - on this particular roundabout, both lanes from the A338 go right onto the A31 slip road. The left hand lane then also has a separate slip road for the town I live in, hence why I was in the left hand lane going round. You don’t see it in the clip but the lorry driver apologised afterwards, I just assumed he hadn’t seen me (and yes, I was indicating the whole time)

At 5:45 - Ok, irresponsible parking creating hazards on both sides of the road. Both the cammer and the oncoming vehicle were at fault. Highway Code Rule 162 does say before overtaking you should make sure the road is sufficiently clear ahead - clearly not in this case. Both should have slowed and agreed who goes first rather than the cammer and the other driver just bullying their way through. That's how collisions are caused. One day you will lose.

3:01 - stopped in the box due to a stationary vehicle. Some councils would be rubbing their hands together at that as it is an offence and they can fine you for somebody else's mistake.

9:27 looks like he was in the BMW's pillar blndspot the entire time. That's why, as a pedestrian, you stop and wait for both cars to stop before you start to cross. Make sure they've seen you before you step out in to the road and get ran over. Things like this can happen, and it's up to you and only you to keep yourself safe.

Box junctions frustrate me so much. You carefully leave the box junction clear and people either jump in front of you, or you drive across and people then block it meaning the next line of traffic can’t move

03:17 Obviously the driver doing 70 MPH (as is legal here) was completely at fault for not slowing down to a crawl like the other driver, doing 20 MPH. Yep, all about breaking speed limits and not at all to do with those who simply cannot drive. Gather revenue from 'speeders'! Why? Because it's easier than actual road safety.

Maximas the highway code says your manoeuvres shouldn't cause others to have to brake or change lanes. You pulled out when doing do was going to cause another vehicle to have to take action. That's not on. You're just as bad as the other vehicle which was speeding. Plus the emerge was too slow. You need lessons.
