From the looks of it, the 3rd lane (far right) was having surface maintenance done to it. Hence, what would normally be the hard shoulder was turned into a temporary lane. Look at the studs on the ground and concrete barriers, along with the temporary speed limit signage.

I live on a single track lane - it even has grass growing in the middle of the road and the farmer has the option of closing the lane off with gates to move cattle. It's a bit of a shortcut for some and people who drive like WRC (It's a 60 mph limit guvnor) are colossal arseholes. Not only does the lane have blind bends, we have lots of walkers and cyclists, farm vehicles and hidden driveways. I always have the window down so I can hear cars before I see them. Then we have the dipshits who park in the passing places. It gets old really quickly.

In my experience, here in Devon, the usual culprits for going too fast down single track roads are the farm workers in their pickups.

I think that was the camera car drivers fault , the bus was doing the manoeuvre that the camera car did but was doing it first , the camera car driver didn't check his mirrors first , the bus driver avoided a collision by moving over

You never ever cross two lanes of a motorway in one go after joining. Almost certainly you won’t have the situational awareness to do this safely. With that in mind, I always keep an eye on drivers joining if I’m in an outside lane as you can guarantee some idiot will try it and won’t know you’re there. Always worth being ready to slow or accelerate as necessary to be clear of these people.

I wouldn't of let the dashcam driver in until he continued around the roundabout (I really wish the police would fine drivers who do this, especially when they have evidence of there own fault), unless the outer Lane has a mandatory exit lane you can use the outer lane

well said. it's painfully funny because I'm instructor and that's what I tell every one of my students - besides being just duff - are you sure they see you?(blind spot? behind their windscreen pillar?), they could have pass their licences 20 years ago and it's their first drive since pass or they passed literally yesterday and they lack experience, they might not have licence at all, they might not have your superhuman judgment and they think they have more time they actually do, they might not know the area and might try to correct their wrong lane position in last moment without checking their surrounding since I didn't teach them etc. It obviously doesn't justify their mistake but if you leave some room for one you are much more likely to arrive home safe, without shouting and swearing at the end of the day

He shouldn't have been speeding, correct, BUT first or second doesn't come into it. You ALWAYS give priority to traffic approaching from the right, even if it isn't "on" the roundabout first.

Tinky Winky yes you give way to the right if you can, but the other driver stood no chance of anticipating him. He was already pulling onto the roundabout when the cammer came to it so the cammer should have yielded.

@Adrian Toothless If you read the highway code you might learn something. You must give priority to traffic APPROACHING from your right (rule 185). Secondly it's a give way line so you are not allowed to just drive straight on unless it's all clear. Neither car bothered to slow and the other car was on the roundabout about a metre ahead of Christopher - they both should have slowed and if they had, they could easily have done it properly.

Cobryza please explain how a vehicle who is already travelling on a roadway, doesn’t have right of way over a vehicle entering said roadway. I’m not even going to use the clip as an example, as I don’t need to. The easy way to figure the answer, if you don’t know it. Would you fail a driving test for pulling out from one road onto another and causing another vehicle to change speed, direction or make contact. If you think trucks should be backing off to let vehicles on from slip roads, you really need to evaluate your mind set on driving. It is the drivers responsibility who is on the slip road to enter the the new roadway safe.

Lorry has right of way, but use your commen sense, lorry could of easily slowed down, as clop is short my guess is the car sat in the lorrys blind spot along the slip road, when merging onto carigay its up to both drivers to make gaps and space to allow people to join, nothing is more dangerous than a stopped car at the end of a slipway, just becasue u have right of way doesnt mean u don't have to slow down. Use commen since or u r pretty much a bad driver.

Matthew Boothman you really need to speak to a driving instructor or a traffic cop. It is NOT the responsibility of the driver already on the dual carriageway or motorway to allow drivers entering said roads to join. If that’s your thinking, your the one that’s a bad driver. You cause an accident by doing said manoeuvre, you will be the one prosecuted for at least driving without due care, or worse depending how serious an RTC gets.

I hope they submitted that to their insurance because that was a deliberate attempt to have a collision - just to prove a point. The truck probably could have waited but once on the island and in the traffic flow it represented no hindrance to the cammer whatsoever, or at least to a competent driver with reasonable mental health.

Trouble is how many people have done the most recent version of a driving test? My parents just had to be able to press all 3 pedals and turn the wheel pretty much... Now we have hazard perception, much more in depth testing methods, maneuvers and a theory section....

It has had an effect - I've noticed since people have come back on the roads since lockdown there seems a lot more stupidity. The one positive of Covid was the total lack of vehicles on the roads when the lockdown first occurred, it was a delight to drive with almost nothing on the roads, all those twits at home doing TikTok. I think furlowing the general public long term is the way to go :)

I might be one of the rarer type but I have 4 GPS enabled devices that are used in my car. 3 permanent, and one portable. A tomtom car GPS, used so I know where to go if I have not been there before, or longewr trips, where 1 road might be better than another. 2 GPS enabled dash-cams, 1 front and 1 in back, they are different manufacturers and models. So give independent info. I'm also a geocacher and happen to have a handheld GPS (Garmin eTrex 20x). I can say with certainty that all 4 devices are within 1kph when using them to measure speed, and it is my garmin that is the 'outlier' at 1kph faster then the others. The dashcams and tomtom all match exactly as far as I can determine. The way I determine is I use my cruise control and set it ~2kph under the posted limit using the tomtom, any footage I see will match that speed as recorded in the footage. So if I set my cruise for 58 kph, both the dash cams record 58 kph. I suspect that those saying GPS are inaccurate are comparing a GPS to a car speedo, now those are, by law, required to show a speed that is slightly faster than you are actually doing. So if my car speedo shows me doing 60 kph, my actual speed is closer to 57-58 kph, at least according to 4 independent GPS devices.

Not expecting them to disappear, but I’ve seen it before where you’re on par or slightly ahead of the cab and the driver makes no effort to come off the accelerator slightly to help you slot in. But also who are these idiots who use the full slip road to join and then make a palava about it because they didn’t actually look sooner?

The car turning is in the wrong. That sign is a 300 yard countdown to a speed limit change to 30 mph, we see the 200 yard marker before the clip finishes. As far as I can tell the road is 60 mph, so while the cammer is speeding, its 'only' slightly, still cammer should have started slowing a little by the time we see the clip finish.

Are you kidding? It's a 60mph road, and the prat in the Merc pulls out in front without looking. That is so dangerous, and yet you want to blame the camera car. If you think the Merc is not to blame I really hope you can't drive.

If there is a cyclist in the middle of the road, for whatever reason, then you slow down. You don't just swerve around them whilst maintaining your speed.

She has tried to change direction twice in quick succession, lost all momentum and slowed to the point that she had to put her foot on the ground. If she had fallen in front of you, you would have been over the top of her, or swerved so hard you would have smashed that pedestrian into the wall.

My camera cuts the video every three minutes and I was being lazy. The guy was all over the place down the 30 road just before hand so I went to pass as soon as I could, which is legal on a two lane roundabout. He moved over aggressively on the roundabout so I used the horn then upon exiting he tried to crash into me as you see in the clip
