James Firth, 9:40 classic example of someone who thinks they own the road, pulls up behind the white car at speed and clearly expects it to levitate over the lorry or pull in to the left once it’s 1mm past the lorry’s bumper. Give people time to pull in next time, oh and undertaking is illegal.
Read the highway code; the car in front is in the wrong, he is staying in the right hand lane without over taking or turning right. He is a prick a lot of the time but he did NOTHING wrong in that clip. The car ahead should have changed lanes after passing the lorry as the car ahead was clearly, going left. There is no reason to then sit in that lane after, he was way past the lorry, shown that the cammer was able to go around him
While I agree with 10% of James Firth 's clips....the other 90% however could of been avoided had he used a bit more hazard perception when driving....
So true. He's looking for the next youtube clip! Most the stuff is what you see on most journeys (ppl cutting corners when turning off or someone cutting into your lane when overtaking a parked car).
ive got to look forward to driving on the same road he's on too in a few years time, I recognize all the roads he's on hes from bradford so i suggest to avoid lmao
When I saw the clip I thought it may have been a 50 zone and therefore why the truck got annoyed and being forced to drop to 30 by the car, however, now you mention it is a 30 zone with these roadworks then I totally understand that the dashcammer was in the wrong.
40mph when roadworks are out.... 70mph all other times... Or 10mph till half way across as idiots taking pictures... Now speed cameras approaching both ways...
Think Mr Firth needs to look beyond the end of the knob on his head and drive to the conditions and have some patience. The only thing that seems to be getting the horn is him hitting it - perhaps if he had a shag he would be less frustrated. Oh and perhaps get a hobby!
I agree Tim W, lol at 11.52 going far too fast for that type of road, bit of an idiot if u ask me 😂 😂 go to a banger track and release that anger, smash into something flat out and maybe ul feel better 😂 😂 😂
10:11 Firstly, the SKODA is parking legally. Secondly, It's a bus, very wide, very long and very tall. He had to swing out like that to prevent the rear left wheel from going over the kerb. Your car's collision detection system was a bit over sensitive in this situation as there was still enough space to squeeze by, however slowing more at the crossing to give him space would have been better. Frankly, if you need a car with an ability to stop itself to avoid a collision for you to drive on the road then you shouldn't have a driving license. Any decent observant driver would have been able to notice what the bus needed to do and adjusted their driving accordingly, before any automatic braking system would even have detected a potential hazard.
Or the bus driver could have simply slowed down or stopped for a whole 5 seconds until he could go around the corner without going on the wrong side of the road
FireBird The bus driver did slow down. It can't stop in the distance that they were visible to each other for 2 reasons, 1, it's a double decker, very heavy, and 2, it has passengers, some, if not all, without seatbelts on. I assume the dashcammer must have been looking in their mirror at the time as they were complaining about the Skoda parking legally just before hand.
At 10.35 the bus has every right to straddle the lines. Any large HGV or passenger vehicle are not allowed to touch the kerbs. Hence why most roads are fitted with black and white hash markings for these large vehicles to use on bends. I know there was not any but still the bus needs to straddle both lanes to stop his rear end from hitting the kerb. You don't realise this untill you drive them 😊
"How much road do you need?". At 14.04 the bus nearside wheels are on the LH zigzag line, came round the bend almost touching the kerb, and is fully on their side of the centreline. Cam driver needs to answer the question himself.
Agreed...Camera driver must be the one driving like a....nothing the bus driver can do apart from drive on the footpath which would make him a ..... a bit more forward thinking and vision the car driver would have stopped and allowed the bus the extra room.he needs at tgat narrow road section
10:16 wat do u expect him todo? hes right he would rather his front end go onto the other side than his backend. Its a fucking bus hes a massive long thing
Most modern buses have this marvellous invention called the brake. This device actually allows the driver to stop the bus and wait until he can proceed safely
osnapitzjamie He should GIVE WAY, as it is not the right of way of the bus. It is the drivers right of way, regardless of the buses or roads size. Is that not obvious?
After passing a driving test....everyone should have a days training in a truck, or double decker......maybe then people would realise why they have to swing so far out on the road, why they have to push it at a roundabout. The 0-60 time is feckin never! You would have to be 500 yards away to pull out the way you f**kin want them to........our day is dictated by time and sitting at the roundabout for 23 hours waiting for the 'right' gap aint never gonna happen!!! I dont have a cam......yet.
Damian Morgan agreed, I'm a bus driver myself and a good proportion of other road users assume it's as Manoeuvrable as a car and can fit in gaps the size of a car
it's understandable because they're so slow at getting up to speed... but what're you going to say to your boss when you caused a crash because you just decided to push your way into a roundabout?
ukpauliogazzio I won't need to say anything as I wait for the right sized gap before pulling out into traffic, my example stated previously more covers things such as meeting situations on narrow roads/roads with parked vehicles along one side
haha agree with you mate. People have no concept of rear wheel swing in a truck or bus. I swear most of them think their rear wheels follow the front ones perfectly. Let alone the fact that a car that weighs 50X less can take off faster than a loaded truck, its almost like they think the world revolves around them..
mattdriftkerr aka bangers totally agree with you, our Bendy Busses at my work place confused a hell of a lot of car and van drivers with similar issues to the ones you've highlighted
you are right..he even flashes the car when there is traffic in the left hand lane(tailgating as well)...where the fuck does he expect the car in front to go?..and then he undertakes before the car has a chance to pull over. (lucky for him it didn't pull over..ironic.)
8:39 James Firth, quick to call others out for their poor driving whilst he's driving in the wrong lane which is quite clearly marked as a right turn lane for ONCOMING traffic....
Mackem Mark It is also clearly marked as a right-turn lane for the direction he is going. Such an arrangement is apparently common in the US, and I know of one example here in Queensland. I didn't it was possible in the UK. Perhaps you didn't know it either, but it really wasn't difficult to see.
I must say. As an American, I’ve noticed with a lot of these UK edition videos, the people in the “highway maintenance” trucks always seem to drive like pricks.
10:24 - it would be the camera car at fault. Being on the opposite side means the bus driver sees it as CLEAR therefore once the driver goes - must continue and any oncoming traffic will just have to wait. Ask me how I know.
Don’t you get the feeling that the cam owner is a little Hitler, everyone is wrong but him, plus I’ve watched many clips showing heavy vehicles pulling out at roundabouts, now I know that some would say that it’s very aggressive driving these days and that’s fine and dandy when you own a vehicle that you can be aggressive with, but someone who’s driving something heavy and can’t get moving quickly just has to bight the bullet and pull onto a roundabout, why, simply because if he waits for a big enough gap to pull into he’ll be waiting all bloody day, and let’s face it these people are delivering the goods we all use, plus many have to be on time for their unloading slot, I say drop the aggressive stance and take care of yourself and those around you.
About 5 mins in I couldn't decide if to carry on or watch some paint dry instead. Pleased i stuck with it as that lane 1 to lane 2 manoeuvre at night (@ 6:37) was an absolute classic
When driving a bus you are sitting in front of the front wheels, you have to drive past everything before you turn. James, the use of the horn is to let people know you are there, trust me, they know. Don't be an angry driver, they are knobs, if you stopped them and explained very carefully what they did wrong they would not have a clue what your talking about, they are not picking on you.
1:33 The car pulls up to the lights (he stops AFTER the stop line naturally) which are on green while people wait to cross, at least one more car waits behind him. We do not know the true total as the dash cam wants to pick up the real action but it could be literally thousands of millions of cars. The pedestrians are confused by this act of lunacy where a man stops at a green light and they cross the road with hesitation, doubt and suspicion. Then in a perfectly coordinated example of kinaesthetics, an old woman with four carrier bags smoothly appears and as swiftly as she takes the last box of Turkish delights at Morrison’s, she elegantly pulls at the door handle like she’s visited this very same location, very same scenario thousands of times before. She is a master of her craft. She carefully enters the car almost as if this is a post modern piece of performance art, who are we to disagree, it could even be an act of god, thank god no one intervened. The traffic lights which as has previously been mentioned were green now inevitably turn from the misleadingly reassuring amber (faintly flashing a few times to warn you about the upcoming change but giving you absolutely no time to think about anything, it’s quite mocking in a way) to the authoritative red. They aren’t going anywhere for a while, they have time to kill. The old woman then slams the passenger door which belies her previously observed benevolent intentions, what is her game? More pedestrians enter stage right. They cross with much less restraint than the previous group, almost to the point of wanton disregard but of course to them this is just a car stopped at a RED light, a perfectly normal thing to see. But then what’s this? When all seemed calm the old woman OPENS the passenger door! She just opens it! She gets out with 1,2,3,4 carrier bags. This is highly unusual but lo and behold the actual driver then starts getting out as well, at his side, what is happening? Has the man had a driving fit, is the woman in the process of committing the most polite car jacking in UK dash cam history, with a sugar free Werthers original? Is the car a hologram? The woman goes to the back of the car to deposit her bags into the boot and as she does so the man seizes his opportunity. He springs from the car interior out into the road, he leaves the driver door wide open and he proceeds to flee the scene at some pace. The dashcammer exclaims “who’s driving that then?” Who knows. The illuminati? The goat people? The woman shuts the boot and the passenger door and walks around to the driver side. The original driver is now long gone. We get a last glimpse of the woman as she again slams the car door. What has happened to the man? Is this woman human or a sentient robot? Surely this is the end of the hysteria but no. The woman seems to be content with waiting at the red lights which she has created, commandeering the vehicle seems to have reset her systems, leaving her placid. Now listen here and hold on to your seats. This is not a comic book, it’s not a sci-fi movie (yet) and nor are you dreaming. This woman, this lose canon takes things up a notch. She engages her clutch (assuming the car isn’t just wired to her nervous system), presumably selects first gear, lifts the clutch and then adds the gas. She drives off. Through the red lights and into the line of traffic which has been previously waiting patiently and then she exits stage left. My mouth is agape. Here we all were thinking you stop at red lights and go at green lights but this woman does the opposite, is she from the future? God speed the disappearing man, wherever you went.
I see a lot of drivers trying to fit in, when other drivers have closed ranks to keep them from getting in, out or across. And the videographer is part of the problem. ANTICIPATE AND ADJUST. Work WITH other drivers.
If the junctions clear, the vehicle being overtaken isn't turning into the junction and the road ahead is clear with a good length of the road ahead visible then it is safe to pass. If I saw this on the road I'd be fine with it, as long as it's done safely.
10:41 the bus was completely in the right😬 busses need plenty of space and you should of been slowing down coming to a bend to anticipate anything coming. Did you ever have driving lessons?
James Firth is being quite meta with his footage of "bad driving" which is actually his own bad driving. Also the last clip "tried to catch up" why? What good has ever come from chasing someone down and confronting them? "Oh I'm sorry dear boy, I appear to have irked you with my bothersome driving"
The dashcammer could have avoided swerving though, especially in those conditions. Simply maintain speed and direction of travel while preparing to brake if the Fiesta was to lose control or oncoming traffic was to appear.
James Firth, known in the locality as The Hooded Hooter as he drives around in his Fiesta wearing a superhero cape and mask and seeking out evildoers to honk his horn at. Selfless crimefighting hero of our age, he lives in hope that one day he will strike it big and one of his clips will be picked up the Daily Mai.
This is shit. Most of these are nothing incidents and James Firth is clearly a classic of example of a big part of what's wrong with drivers in the UK. No fucking perception of anything going on around him, no anticipation, and clearly a hugely misplaced sense of being a good driver.
The silly woman loading up her car at the traffic light is a bit naff but in the grand plan it really doesn't matter much does it. Having said that I am sure I would become a trifle agitated at such behaviour. Unfortunately it is the habit of people these days to want to be in the face of everybody else. When these things happen I am annoyed at the time but have forgotten them by the time I get home.
10:35 So, to stop the back end going over onto the other side of the road, he makes the front end go on the other side of the road? Is that better? Just goes to show that road is entirely inappropriate for a bus route.
at 03:18, the Fiesta didn't really do much wrong. Long straight, clear road with road markings allowing for overtaking. Personally I wouldn't have gone quite so briskly in the wet but it's not a big deal.
He was well over a solid white line when he overtook the second car. It was a reckless manoeuvre in very wet conditions, to justify it makes you look as foolish
I'm a ROSPA certified advanced driver. As I said, I personally wouldn't have done it but things can be misjudged and the driver was ok to overtake at that point. The car is clearly powerful enough to make the overtake.
BoeingvsAirbus1578 The road markings allowed overtaking but not atthe points that he did it. He must have moved out to overtake the camera car across a soild line. And it wassolid again before he overtook the second one. And at that speed in those conditions it was reckless and asking for trouble. Fortunately nothing appeared coming the other way.
Don't see what the problem with the cyclist was? You are at a junction you have to give way.. then its 2 lanes so I dunoo... MAYBE HE IS TURNING RIGHT? Some of these dash cammers lack common sense.
How do you know something won’t happen, you could hit a rock or a branch and next thing you are ploughing through a pedestrian. No justification for pulling wheelies on public roads, it’s moronic to think it’s ok
Driving Like A Tw*t UK it's also moronic to believe a peble or a twig will make me crash, if it's a bolder or a tree in the road then I aint gonna wheelie and I also don't wheelie down a pavement so I won't hit anyone
I've noticed in a few of these clips that the dash cammer is in the wrong due to impatience, tailgating and flashing someone to intimidate them is not going to make them drive faster and is really dangerous for so many reasons, sure it can be annoying they are going slow, but just keep your distance, everyone wants to get home safe
12:50 this driver should be in the right lane. His exit was the third one which is a right turn. Left lane for left turn or straight ahead and right lane for a right turn. Check your Highway Code the you will not have to keep staring at other people who are right.
It’s actually a single lane roundabout (see the raised red tarmac areas) so it appears he is swinging into a lane he shouldn’t be in, but it is totally the other cars fault for not giving way. Plus, even if he was in the wrong lane, that car should not have entered until he has passed him.
Retro_Computer_King Well I can't help autocorrect.. Like you can't help uploading shit clips that make you look like a crying snowflake. Oh he overtook me lets cry a river.
Driving Like A Tw*t UK Also, in case the silly behavior leads to some serious consequences and the information would be useful for an investigation. It might not often happen that way but it would be a pity not to have the information considering how little effort it takes.
Ironically, many near misses here are due to James Firth himself driving like a twat. He goes too fast, and gets taken by surprise by obvious things that are always likely to happen.
