Hey, thanks a lot for your reccomendations! Honestly I didn't think of using a saltire rather than the Royal Coat of Arms. It honestly makes more sense than just using the Royal one, since they'd likely want to call all ties with the UK. Same thing with monarch, I just assumed that if Scotland declared independence, it would want to cut all ties with the UK, so I didn't even consider independent Scotland as a monarchy. However, I'd like to thank you for pointing out these flaws. I should've done a bit more research before posting this scenario, and this comment sums up the flaws I could've fixed by a bit more research.

@@george4eas the United Kingdom was created by the 1706 Treaty of Union, with it the ratifying acts of paliament in the soveriegn kingdom of Scots, and of the other co signatory, the kingdom of England(&Wales). Without the kingdom of Scots, there ceases to be any united kingdom.

@@tophatgaming1873 The 6 counties of Ulster, that constitute Northern Ireland, have never been a unitary kingdom, at least since the medieval period, when they were conquered and subdued by the kingdom of England. The Irish Rebellion of 1798, and the rebels' alliance with Great Britain's long time enemy the French, led to a push to bring Ireland formally into the British Union in 1801.

In this case I was assuming that after they declare indepenence the assembly would be called a Parliament

Its official name is the Scottish Parliament, and it passes actual laws, not byelaws.

Actually it is the Scottish Parliament as labelled outside the Scottish Parliament building in holyrood

Well if this is a full scale revolution then that's debatable. If 5 million people were hostile to the British government then it'd be tough for the army of a little under 200,000 to take out that many people in a full scale revolt. Now obvs not everyone in scotland would fight but even if the british army won, Scotland would resent british authority forever and would just end up exactly like ireland

8 years ago, since brexit scottish independence support has basically only went up and we think a majority of scots actually support it

Asides from anything else the continuous re-election of pro-independence parties signifies a need for a second referendum on the matter. Anyone attempting to deny this fact is doing so from a non-democratic perspective.

Agreed. Scotland hasn’t been real since 1707, and neither have England or Wales.

Nicola Sturgeon is the duly elected democratic leader of the Scottish parliament. Elected live on tv, in open chamber assembled by the Members of that Scottish Parliament. The ever increasing popularity of the independence campaign with the sovereign people of Scotland, and her party's professed enthusiasm for that prospect, is the reason why she has enjoyed such an ever increasing level of support from Scots, for as long as she has been a Member of the Scottish parliament. If she ever abandoned this campaign, her political career would surely end very abruptly.
