UK general election: Labour set for landslide victory, according to exit poll | BBC News

Labour is set to win a UK general election landslide with a majority of 170, according to an exit poll for the BBC, ITV and Sky.
If the forecast is accurate, it means Sir Keir Starmer will become prime minister with 410 Labour MPs - just short of Tony Blair’s 1997 total.
The Conservatives are predicted to slump to 131 MPs, their lowest number in post-war history.
At the past five UK general elections, the exit poll has been accurate to within a range of 1.5 and 7.5 seats.

My wife's sister and her husband are deaf anyways I go to the kitchen to get a snack and when I walk out my wife say how can you do that I said "do what?" She said walk in on the middle of them having a huge argument i said "what?" I look back into the kitchen and see them angry as hell arms going everywhere but I could still hear the hum from the freezer 😂😂😂

Why is it a majority of 170, if the difference between the predicted Labour seats and the number of seats needed to form government is around 84?

Because the majority is calculated by subtracting the total members of the entire opposition (Tories, Lib Dems, SNP, Reform, Greens, etc.) from the total members of the party in government. In this case, you would subtract 240 opposition members from the 410 Labour was projected to get, and you would get a majority of 170.
