Re: the boots. You can get zipper inserts for lace up boots so that they are easy to get on/off, used them on my army boots. You can also buy laced safety that also have built in side zippers for easy exit/entry. Just a thought as it will save you carrying two pairs.
Late comment from me John as I remember years ago before ill health. It became a requirement to always wear a hi-vis in the depot. I never felt so ridiculous in all my life & you can imagine the overalls we had to wear & yes it make you look like the tango man. 😂🤣🤪😜🤡🤬🤬🤡😂🤣🤪😜
The clue is in the title...HEALTH & SAFETY...they only seem to worry about the safety part...not bothered about your health...all that PPE in hot weather won't help your health to an extent..
On Adr tankers especially on things like acid or caustic you have to wear full chemical suit, long sleeves, hard hat, googles, visor, chemical gauntlets, wellies, high viz and if doing something like ammonia a full face respirator
Before I retired i worked for National Grid. I did however jave to go pon generating sites to observe ancilary service tests, thats services beyong normal f0r which they rfceived payment. Most generating stations required a boiler suit as well as the usyal and er defenders. For gas fired stations the overalls had to be fureproof. NOMEX KNICKERS
I know a guy who got jabbed in a leg with a rebar, and insurance didn't want to pay because he didn't wear eye protection. (luckily lawyer did sort it out in the end )
Fair play to you for just going with what the sites require you to wear, I do a lot of work at a local oil refinery the levels of ppe do seem a bit much at times but i just go with it but the amount of people I see arguing about it then being removed from site is crazy. Like you said its easier to just follow the rules
I wear a high wiz short sleeve t-shirt type, safety shoes, and high wiz pants, working with food so no shorts allowed. I also have a jacket when entering the freezer, going from +25C outside to -20 or colder sure stings so the jacket(also high wiz) is nice, and yes gloves are good to protect your hands, touching freezing metal for a bit is not nice without gloves.
Hi Jhon could you please provide a Link to the boots in starting a moter vehicle college course and require boots but i want these type i had proper boots but dont like them thanks
