Great video of variety of on-board announcers, Celias engineering work is very rare and not heard that one before, did you go on the Class 701 when you recorded New Celia assuming you did. Avantis 805s and 807s will use a different voice called Tanya according to a deleted Tweet from them. Hope to see more soon.
@jamiehooper5328 yes that was indeed from a 701. new celia was also on the 442s and 484s 442 - withdrawn in march 2020 due to COVID-19 then scrapped in 2021 484 - elinor replaced celia in october 2023 also according to a member of swr staff they will eventually replace celia on the 701s
@@bus3s well it is him it’s probs because the GWR trains he’s used on have really poor quality announcements so you can’t really tell but that voice really is David Sheppard
@@bus3s well he is also the voice of the Avanti and LNER trains I’ve mentioned maybe it’s because his voice has deepened since he joined GWR he’s been on Virgin since 2015 and still now with Avanti when did he join GWR
Having commuted on GWR to get to my old job on Avanti, it's not the same person. The Avanti person does however do the Azuma announcements too. The Azumas started operation with Virgin just a couple years after Virgin replaced the announcements on the Voyager and Pendolino fleets - hence why you can find Justine Harris on both the Voyager and Azuma fleets. Not sure why they didn't stick with Emma Lintern for the Voyagers and have her also do the VTEC announcements, but it's a strange world so I wouldn't really put anything past Virgin.
3:26 I do t get why they don't include the last station on those announcements, and make it seem like a truncated announcement due to the lack of an 'and' before Watford Junction in that case, ot just say "calling intermediately at" at the start of the announcement.
