Just subscribed to UKPF Extra. Looking forward to more fascinating content. Cheers for helping to keep some form of sanity in these testing times and here's hoping things move from strength to strength in your life too.

Thanks for the update. I've watched your channel slowly evolve. I think i was subscriber no 6. I think two channel's for separate topics is a great idea. I lost both of my parent's when i was in my thirties, i know what a void it leaves. Lot's have lost jobs through the pandemic too, so don't worry you are not alone. Keep your chin up and i look forward to more of your content, as and when, cheers.

Hi Kelly, I didn't realise you subscribed so early - as my alternate YT account and Wife were #1 & #2, I guess that makes you truly subscriber #4! Thanks for coming back and all the positive comments! All the best, Daniel

There are many ways you can market your channel. Whenever possible, I would try to follow a trend. If a movie is a coming out about aliens, or if very popular people are talking about something you might be able to take advantage of it. If you want, you could split your videos up into ten minute parts and post them weekly. And then after you released every ten minute video, you could release another full episode video that is just all the 10 minute videos edited together. (So you would have the video spilt up into parts and have the full version as well on your channel after all the 10 minute parts are released) Next, I heard posting videos on Facebook do well (Although I don't know if that's true) Also, I remember hearing a few tricks to help you end up in recommended feeds: If you mention RU-vidr X by name in the description and use similar keywords that youtuber X uses, you are more likely to end up in the recommended feed of people who watch youtuber X. Also, I would intentionally try to get the best viewers first. So I would try and find people who watch (or listen) to hour long podcasts or videos where they go in depth about a topic that is scary or paranormal. I would not try and get the viewers who watch short quick videos unless you plan on doing that yourself. Furthermore, you could setup a patreon where the paying members can see the video a week early. Additionally, you want people to share your videos. So, I would implementing things that encourage people to watch the full video, comment, and share it. Also, I would watch the RU-vid channel MorningFame I'm not saying you have to do these things forever, you just have to do it until you gain enough viewers or followers. Wow. Thanks for the shout out. I wasn't expecting that. Also, I am so sorry about the all the bad things that have happened to you recently. And I hope things get better soon. I personally would try and get a job first before putting in a lot more effort into this channel, RU-vid is risky and paranormal content is a competitive area.

Hi Harrison, Thanks for the detailed comment... I really appreciate you taking the time! I'm familiar with many of the suggestions you have made, and I have spent some time watching RU-vid Influencers detail how to best utilize the RU-vid features to pick up more traffic, I struggle to make that work as I like to work on the material that I find interesting (at that given time), and so to keep my interest I'd rather stick with what's interesting to me, rather than follow the trends. I have no doubt such methods are successful, but if I'm less interested in what I am focusing on, I think ultimately it would translate to less interesting output. I had not considered releasing parts of my videos in installments, it had not occurred to me that anyone would be interested receiving the stories in parts... Is that really a thing that people like and engage with? I'd consider that if it were something people wanted. I haven't seen MorningFame yet, but will check it out based on your recommendation. Thank you also for your well-wishes - I can assure you the job search is much, much higher on the list of priorities than YT. Best regards, Daniel

It's called "Ammil", the artist is listed as "The Tides", it's on the RU-vid audio library 👍

I think branching out and making more and-or shorter videos would make surely ME happy, and I would imagine that more videos would probably affect the algorithm positively and garner more viewers. You know more about that stuff than this clueless Yankee "boomer"! Your exceptional quality is certainly part of why I like your work, but I think an increase of 15 or 20% in uploads at a loss of same in quality would hardly be noticeable (due to your high standards). I sincerely am willing to help you with your workload, although I don't know what you need. I can draw, I can "meme", and I was an honors English student and briefly, a professional proofreader, so I can write, if that gives you ideas. I could do pretty decent pen & ink drawings (think Bob Gymlan's channel, although I'm not as good as HIS illustrator, that guy is amazing) that you could have, no strings. I'm a disabled person, so I have free time that you don't. I really do go by Devo in real life & on Facebook (Steve Devo Davis) and if it's not too personal, can you tell me what to call you? If it's too much just tell me to call you "Skip" or "Biff" or something so I can put some sort of word to the person. UKPF is too hard to pronounce! I have ideas for a video or two I might make and upload, what video software should I be looking at, if you don't mind the question? I only have VLC Player so far because I didn't know what to commit to, but I'm willing to purchase an editor. (I only have one video on my channel, an old comedy club clip I made with the VLC) Is PF extra going to be UK focused as well? Just wondering, as there's only so much weirdness on the isles for you to pick apart and it sounds like you're reaching already. Anyway, I will go & subscribe to PF Extra, and I will always click on your videos when they happen. Oh, one last thing: if you would add that one-time-no-commitment "buy UKPF a cup of coffee" option to the monthly Patreon thing, I would go immediately and support you. I can't to start anything monthly. I'm terrible at keeping up with things & I would start bouncing checks or something if I took on a Patronage. I've supported others with that and I would you, too. Cheers, and thank you for the update!

Hi Steve, thanks for this comment, let me see if I can cover all of this... My name is Daniel, some people call me this in the comments, others UKPF, I don't mind as either is OK by me. Thanks for your lovely comments. I hope I can bring forward some good videos and drive some interesting conversations. I really do wish to keep focus on the main channel as I think those are ultimately the videos that will lead to some measure of success, and with UKPF Extra, I can flex some different muscles and scratch some itches without holding the main channel back. I forgot to drop a link to the new channel in the video description when I uploaded, and so if you'd like to take a look its here: ru-vid.com/show-UCWHezLgRaCgnIFTMy1xqKSw I'm gonna cover anything that doesn't fit on the main channel here, so no-UK stuff on here, including my first UKPF original: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R3vw4CWCGcI.html I love Bob Gymlan's channel and the art work in his content. I had a quick scroll through your Facebook page, and saw some excellent sketches!! I am not sure I'm ready to collaborate yet, but if I ever do get to a point I'm pulling a team effort together, I'll let you know! I'm not sure what to advise is best on the video software front, so let me instead tell you what I did, and what I know. I started out on my home laptop, and after a bit of research tried out "Filmora"; partly because it said it was free, and partly because after a bit of research and a few RU-vid tutorials it seemed somewhat user friendly to a complete novice. However, a few things I can impart from experience: - A simple home laptop can, just about run Editing Software, but it is a painfully slow and frustrating experience. If you have a "home" laptop and are just thinking of making a limited number of videos, this should be fine. But if there is intent to have a good run, have a think about upgrading and a good search online for something with multiple processors and a decent graphics card. (I'm still on the original laptop, and it does cost me a lot of time - I hope to upgrade at some point in the near future) - Filmora "free" (like all the others, I suspect) is free, but will render your videos with a great big watermark - not great if you're looking to post to RU-vid and striving for a somewhat professional look. However, I got a lifetime Pro licence two years back for about $70 or $80, which I think was money well spent. I'm not sure how Filmora stacks up against other editing softwares, but I suspect it's at the basic end, with professional features - but that works for me. - I cannot emphasize enough how important a decent Microphone is!!! I had some big issues with audio, and researched all the sound dampening efforts, etc. I now use a brand called "Blue Yeti", it's great - If you're going to record audio, save yourself a lot of time and frustration and get at least this, or better. I'm generally a cheap person and tried to skimp initially, and majorly regret it now. Thanks! Daniel

@@ukparanormalfiles Thanks, Daniel; I saw Filmora & will try it. Feel free to message me on Facebook if I can draw anything for you. I'm not sure what you mean by "sketches" as I don't think I've posted any art. Friends & myself have posted album covers & posters I did 'back in the day'. I can describe what I am capable of: close to the stuff you see on Bob's excellent videos but a bit more 'cartoony', if that makes sense. I was always more cartoonist than fine artist but things are definitely recognizable. Here's a link to the album cover I'm most proud of, you'll see my style there (if it is a bit small LOL) img.discogs.com/sJELY9epeJBFittE8wEr5UcQ-Q4=/fit-in/300x300/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(40)/discogs-images/R-6365821-1417456031-2545.jpeg.jpg

That's an amazing piece of work, such intricacy! I am a hopeless artist, I can't draw or paint. I'll definitely be in touch if I ever decide to go down that route
