I thought it strange it was described as having 3 sets of fins cos as far as I know, no back boned animal has more than 4 limbs! Very interesting vid mate!👍

Hard to say what it was really. I did see a photo once from a Japenese trawler, that supposedly had caught a dead Pleseosaur in it's net's. It looked like a dead dinosaur to me but turned out to be a rotting basking shark carcass. Apparently basking sharks soon breakdown on death and don't resemble a shark. That could explain how this carcass from Stronsay broke apart on the tide. As for loch ness, your guess is as good as mine, but the recent sonar hits are interesting.

Hi Kelly, Thanks for watching and commenting. I can fully understand misidentifications, and am sure it's happened a lot. Given the experts behind the initial sighting, and the priestly testimony from the second sighting it definitely felt like there is more too it. Always appreciate you watching and commenting!! Thanks!! 👍😃

Brilliant video altogether! Nicely done. I couldn't agree more with your central thesis. Ever since I learned of the Stronsay Beast, I have leaned toward the theory that it is indeed the same species that has done so much to enshrine Loch Ness in legend. Over where I live, near the west coast of North America, we have numerous sightings of similar creatures. I am certain that if you have enough interest in cryptids to create this video, then you are well aware of the most famous specimen of this phenomenon in my environs- the Ogopogo. This animal, coupled with the similarly-sized saltwater-dwelling creature know as "Cadburosaurus" both share the characteristic of moving through the water with what appears to witnesses to be a vertical undulation. I cannot help but wonder if the beast sighted near the Hebrides that you mentioned in your excellent video might not be of the very same lineage as that of the creatures which haunt the waters of western America, and the nearby Pacific Ocean? So very many of these bewildering aquatic mystery animals seem to abound in lakes and oceanic waters around the world, each sighting conforming more or less to the description of the Stronsay Beast, that it is tempting to believe that we are dealing with a globally-dispersed species of huge marine reptile or mammal, of somewhat serpentine shape and of mammoth dimensions. If they do exist, (as I am convinced they do,) their sheer size seems to explain their success as predators, and their subsequent presence throughout the waters of the globe. What makes far less sense to my mind, and what therefore cries out for explanation, is the fact of their sheer elusiveness! For gods' sake, why and how has a globally-destributed apex predator that measures more than fifty feet in length gone "undiscovered" for this insanely long amount of time? The answer of course is that it hasn't. Indigenous peoples of all nations, including Europeans of earlier generations, all accepted that such creatures existed and took it as a matter of course that they might encounter such animals in any sufficiently sizeable body of water. It seems to me that only since the rigorous system of taxonomy that the Eurocentric modern scientific establishment prizes so highly was established in the 18th and 19th centuries, has the subject of the mighty "sea serpent" become a subject of ridicule. Why should this be so? Elitism pure and simple. The men who build the edifice of modern science were and largely still are, of the privileged classes. Such men do not for the most part put to sea, or spend decades of their lives studying bodies of water in the way that subsistence fishermen and career sailors have done for eons. Since scientists are bookworms at worst, and occasional oceanic tourists at best, and since the people who most often see sea serpents are of the working classes, and of the stock of rural, indigenous folk, the scientific community has prided itself in stopping its ears to the many, many tales of such creatures being encountered by humans. The sheer idiocy and pomposity of this is so monumental as to seem beyond belief, and yet this is the world we live in. Thank you so much for doing what you are able to remind the people of today of some of the very real, yet stupidly ignored, scientific discoveries of the past. I appreciate your work very much. All the best to you, and may your future endeavors meet with blessing. --Naomi

Hi Daniel, I tend to believe the eyewitness testimony/drawings/findings, and conclusions drafted by the original team whom came upon the carcass in the first instance.. Any 'scientific' findings/debates/and/or conclusions made in the years after the fact, to me, hold no credence.. This report has been very well researched, and delivered with an unbiased tone.. Well done I say.!! I always enjoy the content of your channel Daniel.. I gravitate toward anything of the controversial.. Your channel suits me just fine.. Cheers UKPF.!! 😊🥂👍🏻..

Thanks Suzi, I think we're on the same page with this, as I don't think we can conclusively rule out the initial conclusions 👍
