I am from Germany. In these Years i look every Week the TV Show on MTV it's called Hit List UK with Paul King. That was the Time who Rave Music comes popularity. I Love Altern 8 and The Prodigy and SL2's "On a Ragga Tip" was for me The Smash Summer Hit in 1992. That was a Great Time. 👍
Yes for sure, although I think the 80s were a distant memory by the summer of 1990! I dont think there has ever been a decade that moved on so quickly than the 90s. Even the 80s charts didnt really become '80s' sounding until 83/84. And the 2000s? The less said the better, it was still the 90s sound until at least 2005 (arguably the decade that was perhaps the slowest ever to move on) Apart from the big hitters, when you look at these charts, the 80s artists weren't doing well at all in the grand scheme of things by the early 90s.
@@eightiesmusic1984 absolutely agree. I always think that 90s culture literally kicked the door in around 1989. The decade effectively started before the calendar changed if that makes sense. Indeed music of 1989 has much more common with the 1990 sound and as you say, is a million miles away from 1986! With dance music, I also think there was yet another shift to a different sound again in around late 90/early 91 which continued until around late 92 I think before changing yet again towards a mid 90s 'bigger' superclub style sound with higher production values before dance genres started becoming more fragmented ending with a Balearic sound that went on well into the 2000s.The 90s was such a great decade!
Thank you for this upload Francis. Hard to believe this is now 31 years ago. It's a very mixed year is 1992, but this was setting the foundations for the 1990s we know and love. Quite a diverse mix of Indie, rock, dance, soul and pop. The Wedding Present did a gimmick of a new single every month I believe. This was M People's debut single? Good little song, but you could see the potential there. I never understood why Army of Lovers were never big here, but this wasn't their strongest song. Michael Ball was our Eurovision entry and came in the UKs favourite place of....second. Good line up of songs here. Cher was so pretty in the 1990s. My favourites are the brilliant 'Nothing Else Matters' by Metallica, the underrated 'Love is Holy' by Kim Wilde. A great little pop-rock song. 'In The Closet' by Michael Jackson and one of the most beautiful women in the world Naomi Campbell in the video. 'Dangerous' is his best album. 'On A Ragga Tip' by SL2. It's still fresh sounding now. 'Be Quick Or Be Dead' by Iron Maiden, 'Make It Happen' by one of my favourite singers Mariah Carey, the underrated 'Finer Feelings' by Kylie Minogue and the rather touching 'Hold On My Heart' by Genesis. Decent line up.

A l'époque, il y avait encore du choix et le Rock au sens large comme le Metal étaient encore bien représentés dans les charts. Le seul point négatif, c'est que la dance et le rap commençaient à devenir trop envahissants. J'ai noté quelques groupes de Rock britanniques que je ne connaissais pas, mais qui m'ont l'ait intéressants à redécouvrir. Sinon, j'ai été agréablement surpris par le titre de Kim Wilde (dans sa discographie, il y a à boire et à manger).
