Hungary has called for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine several times, mainly ignored in the media, even offered Budapest for the place to do so. Mainstream media mostly ignored the news. For the Russian goverment, this war is a vital concern, as it is for Ukraine. For the USA it is a tactical matter, regarding NATO enhancement, economic and political influence and the weakening of a strategic opponent. I'm certain the likes of Biden, Boris Johnson (when PM) and most of those surrounding them, advisors etc, see it in those terms. I don't think they care overmuch about the humanitarian aspects of the war. Like him or not, what Orban says is just the truth. The war will continue indefintely. Ukraine is already largely smashed as a functioning state and will require hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild, as is. The dead and shattered lives are unrecoverable. This idea that's taken hold in the West, of seeing diplomacy and negotiation as intolerable, well that may have worked somewhat with weak countries, but cannot work with somewhere as large and resource-rich as Russia, that is a nuclear power. Winning for Ukraine is to take back their prewar territory, even Crimea. Winning for Russia is to secure the Donbass region and drain Ukraine to the point that no military threat from Ukraine. Understand this is the war of attrition now, as long as Nato still funding Ukraine, the war would not end. Opposite to common sense that Russia is the attacker, they're actually the defender. They don't need to win, they don't need to take Kiev. They only need to fight - militarily and survive - economically to the point that Ukraine no longer receive meaningful support from the West.

Well this is how wars works. Ukraine can't win this war, thus they will loose, thus they will loose territories. Or as a hungarian questo says: The stronger dog f**cks. The questions are: how many more people die? How much more damage, devastation will happen? How much territory will they loose? Now with the Israel-palestine conflict Ukraine will get way less resources from the west. They should capitulate now,, it's going to be worse.

ukraine is loosing even with nato help and founding, bahkmut fell by mercenaries lol and russian soldiers is in denipro now. this "counterattack" by ukraine failed. even with support of 50 other nato countries they loose. and russia isnt even using full power

Most of the equipment is older stuff from the 90s to today. In terms of Bakhmut, it’s finally been captured since May of 2022, a whole year of fighting.

At least 9 battalions and 5 regiments - that is 4500 and 5000 additional troops respectively. Do the math. If Ukraine deployed 134,500 troops to the battle for Bakhmut, 70% casualties means that Ukraine suffered as many as 94,150 killed and wounded.

According to US and most intelligence agencies, its around 45,000 killed and 170,000ish wounded for Russia and 20,000 KIA and 120,000ish wounded for Ukrainians.
