before I watch all these videos, been smoking brisket, prepping for my company weekend fun all day. Heard news about Fico and such, didn't bother to read since I know Jonathan got it ccvered, Thanks mate, amazing job day after day.
Those 50 000 troops are across the Belgorod area, not all assigned to the assault. There are apparently 30 000 involved in the offensive. That's not enough to do much at all.
Hello JP you probably haven't seen this item but I thought you might be interested. The Brownells gunsmithing company in the USA put out, yesterday, a very short , but interesting, infographic as a answer to their customers who are experiencing shortages of gunpowder to re-load ammunition at home. Basically it said 13•2 pounds (6kg approx) of gunpowder will reload 3,696 rounds of •223 ammunition (5•56mm NATO) rounds , OR, . . . ONE . . . round of 155mm artillery ammunition. Additionally, they quoted 9,000 rounds of 155mm ammo consuming the gunpowder equivalent of 33,264,000 rounds of •223 rifle ammunition. Plenty of logistic food for thought there !
It's interesting that the Russians are relying on groups of around five men to assault. There are those who think it's down to a lack of training. It takes time to train small units to operate together.
Ukrainian People's party (Zelensky's party) Deputy, MP Goncharenko has called for the sacking of the Defense Minister Umerov and an "analysis" of the actions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky.
Interesting, if true. Do you have a source? However, so far at least, the appointment of Syrsky as commander of the armed forces doesn't look good. He still has a chance to turn things around, though.
When it comes to the overall russian strategy, there is this phrase from Vietnam: Professionals taught by the book can be read like a book - but beware, the world is full of dangerous amateurs. I think doing something unexpected - like attacking premature - can be be effective, at least short-term. On the long term if the logistics are not prepared, or follow-up reinforcements not ready, of course you'll fail. I wonder where all the russian tanks and vehicles are that should be in the north ... are they not ready to fight, or being held back ? I suspect they would have been very devastating in the russian attack without minefields or badly prepared defenders.
Jonathan I have just watched Professor Gerdes, and Ukriane don't want any update posts from the front line for the next 72hrs.. Can we be quite for a couple of days please. But please continue with the other stuff and prehaps do a special on the war crimes Russia has done or something else away from the front line news to keep us with a daily 2hr + ATP uodates. Thank you
