One of Ukraine's bright young stars in the cultural sphere, director, scriptwriter Oleksandr Khomenko, tells Kyiv Post's Chief Editor, Bohdan Nahaylo, about a major project he's involved in - a feature film (The Slovo House) and musical shows focusing on the tragic fate of the creators of Ukraine's vibrant if short-lived cultural renaissance in the 1920s and early 1930s, most of whom were killed or silenced in other ways by Stalin's anti-Ukrainian terror campaign. Khomenko describes how he and his young colleagues are seeking to engage the younger generation in better appreciating their national identity and the relevance of the past for today and the future.
