Ukrainians across Kyiv are preparing to defend the capital from approaching Russian forces.
Sky News filmed a militia armed with guns and Molotov cocktails getting in position, ready to ambush any Russian soldiers who approach.
Other civilians pleaded for help from the West, saying Russia was “laughing at your sanctions”.

Ukraine has been occupied for most of its history, and now it’s fighting off another occupation. Ukraine may not have a dominant role on the world stage, like the US or China, but they are undoubtedly one of the most resilient countries I have ever seen. Armored vehicles of all types have serious issues in urban areas. Their fields of fire and ranges are severely limited, and the buildings allow for anti-tank teams to launch at a very close range. The knocked out vehicles then become road blocks for other advancing vehicles, etc. No tanker wants to enter a city unless it has been abandoned, or taken by infantry. We are watching.

What a great nation.Some acts of extreme bravery have taken place from a young soldier blowing himself up to destroy a Bridge,an old lady telling Russian soldiers what she thinks,the guy who offered a German tank crew (who had run out of fuel)if they wanted a lift back to Russia,the small unit of ukraine soldiers who defended snake Island to their death and still told the invading Russian naval ship "f### yourselves"over the radio when told to surrender.Finally the Ukraine leader and his colleagues who have taken up arms to defend their capital.Amazing,Brave and true heroes

Couldn’t agree more, but they are cowards here. Only hide behind sanctions because they don’t want to aggravate, or trigger Russia, but too late for that. There are a few ways to stop Putin, but will they do it? Nike or assassinate. Send in international troops, or help the Russian people/public learn the truth and help them amass a huge demonstration, as Putin is terrified of his own people if they find out the truth. That their sons are dying in vain for his own greed.

They won't be laughing when they're starving. The problem with sanctions is that its not strong enough. There's no political will to do something that is potentially economically or financially catastrophic. Thanks to the invasion, there is political will now. Ukraine will bleed Russia's Army and the west will rip apart its economy. When this is over and Putin is still in power, Russia will be the new North Korea.

Ukraine must get as many weapons and soldiers to Kyiv as people and destroy the bridges to Kyiv, if the tanks and troops can't enter, the only thing the Russians can do is send helicopters, helicopters are easily shot down with missiles/rockets. They must destroy those bridges and fight them from a distance until reinforcements from other countries arrive and circle the Russian troops
