@@oleksandrfedoriv This style of video is purposely designed for this purpose. The WW2 Newsreel format is designed for non-Ukrainians (I wouldn't make such light of the situation if it were) rather it is designed for westerners. Much like Ukraine's government propaganda to the west with their adverts about the Abrams being an SUV etc. By using humour while referring it back to WW2. It reminds people that yes. This is a real war. And without our help Ukraine is facing down a fascist oligarchy with millions of people under arms. We are once again the arsenal of democracy. And if we don't all pitch in. Then we won't win. Ukrainians have taken up the fight. We have to make sure they don't have to worry about food, money, warm clothes, fuel, guns. And for those of us who can fight. More and more legionnaires are on the way!
@@AnimarchyHistory once again we all appreciate your support, it really means a lot. the levity of the video first struck me as a bit off, but given your explanation it makes complete sense. let’s hope we can take back our homes sooner than later.
Feels like I have been taken back in time. These reels used to be played in movie theaters and was the primary source of visual news about WWII. Love it!
In norway NRK still runn rerunns some of their old News reels from time to time. I always enjoy watching them from beginning to end. What? Premier lueage is on? Ah screw that the News is on.
Someone had fun making this. Nicely done. Several people were asking if I was watching an old reel from either the Second World War or the first half of the First Cold War. I know I enjoyed it.
My grand aunt (94 years young) had told me she thought WWII had restarted hearing this. She remembers watching these news reels before Pearl Harbor and during the war. It’s kinda scary that history might not often repeat itself but it does often rhyme. Please do this weekly please!!!
This time it's basically repeating itself. I mean there's an aggressor who threatens the whole world and there are western politicians who are toying with him. Yes, we still have time to help Ukraine in order to contain this war and not let it spread and transform into WW3, but that time is running out fast. In the long run, paying now with money is a far better option than joining the fight later.
We cannot give Russia time to prepare for a new war. If we do not finish what we have started now, the war will happen again soon. We will not be able to plan for the restoration of Ukraine. Peace talks are not possible now.
I communicate with Ukrainians in a volunteer group. So much gratitude, warmth and light in these people! Thanks to everyone who supports Ukrainians with us!
How can be in another way? They are suffering from Russian terror , they are watching how their children are killing by Russian rockets. Of course they will be pleasure for our help
Russian terror is not only a threat to Ukraine. Putin was never going to stop at Ukraine. Therefore, Ukrainians are now essentially protecting all of Europe from Putin's terrorist regime. I believe they should be supported as much as possible. And victory will surely come
We cannot give Russia time to prepare for a new war. If we do not finish what we have started now, the war will happen again soon. We will not be able to plan for the restoration of Ukraine. Peace talks are not possible now.
This was really well done. It's weird to see a modern conflict shown in such a throwback way. While the suffering of the innocent in Ukraine is so apparent today, the 80 years separating us from say WW2 just makes me remember that WW2 was a tragedy on such a massive scale too. I guess I'm just getting older and i find myself looking less at the cool tanks or battlefield accomplishments, and more at the humanity of war- or really the lack there of. Thanks for doing this. Hopefully it gets good views and people can learn about the ongoing conflict in an easy to digest package. Really appreciate what you've been doing.
During WW1 the media called horse cavalry obsolete, the next war, the Polish Soviet War, saw the return of cavalry battles where sword and lance carried the day for Poland. Polish 1st Cavalry Division crashed upon Red Army 1st Cavalry Army and killed several times their number at Komarów.
Tbf, war can be utterly glorious. Ask the 40 border guards, or the polish postal workers if they found glory... It's just generally exclusive to the "defensive" side.
@@stillcantbesilencedevennow Glory or not, it is a tragedy still. No matter how much booty, loot and glorious history you've made for the flag you're bearing underneath, they came a cost of many lives of both sides, not just soldiers but also to the innocents who never asked for it. These soldiers have their own dreams, families and loved ones waiting at home for them whatever sides they're on, but will they return? And does the so called 'glory' can last for potentially 5-6 years of fighting, when more blood are shed and corpses continued to piled up? Many said war can be glorious and I do agree with it, but never many looked outwards to the darkness that is the truth while being shined upon by the light of the ideals they're believed in until it's shut off once they're on the battlefield.
@@stillcantbesilencedevennow "It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it." Robert E. Lee. War is always "glorious" until you see the cost in lives.

The whole WWII news reel theme that you went for was amazing and envoked all the emotions of pride that our great-grandparents generation would have felt.
The way this 1940s news video sounds coming out of my 90s chevy Cheyennes original speakers sounds so crispy. I just got done driving though Casas grandes and while listening, I was translating for my father and uncles. Keep up the good news. Slava 🇺🇦
This has honestly been one of the best recaps of the Ukraine war so far that I've seen, and namely because I've actually seen it. It's engaging, extremely patriotic to the way that you don't need to guess who's side it's on, and manages to be incredibly informative about everything it covers. I love this, and wish for this format to continue, at the very least so the war doesn't slip into obscurity again like it seemed to have in past months.

idea: make it with black and white, fuzzy/shaking camera shooting (like old WW2/Korean War newsreels) :P (I know, video editing, time consuming... but it'd be epic). At any rate, can't wait for this.
You got me Pac! The music ends and you launch into "the voice" and I'm howling at my phone "HE'S DOING THE VOICE! HE'S DOING THE VOICE!" Then I am having a total brain disconnect because I hear both your normal voice and the newsreel voice at the same time and my brain starts melting... in a good way.
I never really comment on videos but this is freaking cool! I am so happy you're doing this and really feels like I am taken back in time. This is such awesome content!

I really like the style and delivery of news on the front. A little criticism I hold is the ´old timey´ vertical streaks. they are pretty distracting, maybe just keep them only during anouncing the chapters. The black border on the other hand I do like and adds to the experience.
I'm absolutely in love with the style of the video, I've grown quite a liking to 40s style radio in recent times. It also sounds very fun to record, and on top of everything, you managed to fit a lot of information into a short timespan while keeping things interesting, and despite the topic, entertaining. I love the music you added to each country as well. All in all, this must be one of the most refreshing ways to broadcast news that I've encountered in a fair few years
This was an excellent video Animarchy; well done, and this format was fantastic and am glad you brought up my nation of Sweden in this video. Well done!
This is a terrific production, TYVM for posting! V/O is really good, I love the script, and the tinny audio and scratchy visuals are a nice touch You seemed to be struggling to find an accent to settle into, but it wasn’t distracting and once you find your voice and cadence, it’s going to sound and feel very authentic
Brilliantly done Animarchy, I loved these stylised like WW2 Newsreels . You had me laughing but it was respectfully and factually correct. So many map up dates now this is a brilliant production
That is so cool! I can't even express this enough, the delivery is just gorgeous! And as you feature the freshest available footage that war is still going. Thank you for being so supportive!
This format is amazing! Also loved the music choice, especially the Girls Und Panzer rendition of the Panzerlied and Gott Mit Uns by Sabaton Edit: After rewatching, was that Winged Hussars playing during the Poland part?
You must do more, this was golden, very awesome idea, really feels like an authentic news real in the style of the WW2 ones and that's what makes it great.
Hello, i am sure this will not find you but i appreciate this stuff. I don't have uploads like some of the others (i don't have a go pro) but i'm here and this really brightens the mood, greetings from Niu York.
When you asked if you should do something like this, I was one of the many who said yes, and I did wonder what the finished product would be. It's great, you have another career in the wings with this.
I love watching old WW2 propaganda reels just to get a sense of the cultural climate surrounding the war at the time; I feel that same feeling will be shared by others watching Ukrainian and Russian propaganda in the future.
I’ve had many good things happen today. An exceptional day indeed, yet seeing a new post from you has iced the proverbial cake. You are better than most people. Xo
OH MY GOD this is pure gold. I simply can't imagine how much work went into this because the quality of the video is much more than just great. I'll wait as long as it takes to see another one.
We cannot give Russia time to prepare for a new war. If we do not finish what we have started now, the war will happen again soon. We will not be able to plan for the restoration of Ukraine. Peace talks are not possible now.
Now THIS is some quality and well condensed propaganda~ Researched, accurate, and humorous. Keep it up PacMan/Animarchy; I look forward to the next news reel!
Funny thing about the Abrams... In the early 90s, Sweden had both the export M1A2 Abrams and the Leo2 Improved on trial. After extensive testing, they found that the Leo2 Imp was superior in off road mobility, engaging and killing targets and survivability. The Abrams also consumed twice the amount of fuel as the Leo2. We've also seen several international tank competitions where Leo2s, Abrams, Leclercs and Challengers have taken part. These tournaments tests not only the capabilities of the vehicles but also the skills of the crews. US crews and their tanks usually end up in the bottom half, even the year they participated with 2 crews. Meanwhile, Leo2s have in every competition ended up in the top 3, securing both 1st and 2nd place. Even in NATOs own tank competition, Iron Spear, the Abrams has underperformed, having grabbed 3rd place one year. By comparison, the French and their Leclerc have in these competitions managed a 1st and 3rd position. Challenger 2s? Bottom half. Leo2s and crew? Well, they consistently outperform any opposition. All in all... The US and the Abrams does not have a good track record competing with other modern tanks and their crews. Now, as always the wars in Iraq will be brought up. Where the Abrams engaged Soviet technology from the 60s and 70s, facing tanks with handcranked turrets, tanks without night vision and crews relying on poor training and tactics... The Iraq wars is proof that the Abrams in service in the early 90s could defeat Soviet tanks from the 70s. That's it.
Bruh this was fantastic; i love those old ww2 newsreels. The accent was fairly spot on, a little more wheedle wouldve gotten that perfect "Howard Cosell" inflection. Make this a regular thing.
Animarchy: "it will likely take over for the venerable T-64" My dad: "Why are you crying so damn loud?!" Yes, I know the T-64 is getting old, but I love it dearly.
A thing to note about the export abrams as well as I imagine the challenger is that they’ll be stripped of their Chobham armor due to its exact manufacturing process and composition still being classified
It's very much aimed at American and British viewers. I've designed it to put "DONATE TO UKRAINE, FIGHT FOR FREEDOM!" right at the forefront. Every dollar we contribute, every aid package we send. Frees up money for the heroes to spend on things they need. If my efforts mean just one Ukrainian soldier has food, uniform, armour and rifle. I'll be happy. But I hope for so much more.
Being used to German news reels from WW II being full of horrible lies, the style felt very cringy to me at first. But it really made sense once I realized that we are now on the ant-fascist side. Feels really good. Thank you for making this! Germans need to realize sending our tanks in Ukraine today are a way to redeem Germany for the horrible crimes committed against the Ukrainans in the past, not a repetition of history! Slava Ukraini!
@@baneofbanes sure, it was obvious to me from before the start of the video that Animarchy planned to do an "American News Reel" style video. Yet, the editing, construction and rethorics of the speaker in the video still have many similarities with German news reels from the same time. Therefore I was inadvertantly reminded not only of the Allied news reels, but also of the reels from Germany which were horrid in their intent and manupolative narratives. However, they were not necessarily less effective. That's maybe the most problem I had... that this style is intently manipulative like a campaign ad while also saying it gives useful information. The fact that animarchy has been shown to be source of information that I hold in the highest regard lets me rely on the idea that this video is still grounded in reality, but the Style gives me still the chills because it was used and abused to emotional effect.
@@TallGermanBoy you’re really stretching the logic here. It’s like you’re looking for a reason to compare this to Nazi Germany exclusively, even while the Allies had news reels for he same style, if less outright propagandistic.
@@baneofbanes I am sorry, that was not my intent to say "this is Nazi". I just wanted to say that the style of newsreels always remind me of newsreels not only from the US.
Love this, my only feedback is that it seems super high effort, if you need to dial back the production to keep regularity, I feel like that would be the way to go
Love this feedback, though I would like more up to date info, but I love this style. Keep going with it, maybe lean harder into the old WWII style, and if you can get him, try having Spaghetti Khozak Media and Heavy Industries LLC to lend a hand; he's been doing a lot of fighting on the ground in Ukraine.
This... this is brilliant. There is simply no compare! This is fucking awesome, please keep doing these! Also HOLY SHIT WW2-STYLE CAMO ABRAMS WITH THE MONOTONE OLIVE DRAB AND WHITE STAR, I DID NOT REALIZE HOW MUCH I NEEDED THIS WHOOOOOOOO
I gotta say mother of gawd the Leopard 2 is a sexy tank. Let's not forget, though, the Bradly is "basically just a jeep" and the orks have already knocked out 1500 of them back in October.
As a Swede, this actually gave me goosebumps. And I, as someone who did serve in the army, have no qualms about the Archer and CV90 doing what they were meant to do. The Swedish steel bites deep, doubly so in Ukranian hands. Slava Ukraini! Friskt mod, i gossar blå!
@@badasscrusader There stuff being based on Russian stuffy wouldn't be a problem. The problem would be if they based their tactics off of Russian doctrine, which they don't. Not only that but, China focuses more on precision weapons, unlike Russia, and their equipment is also more advanced
All thanks to the solidarity of the democratic world around Ukraine. Thanks to Western arms, Ukraine is not only defending its territories, but also liberating captured
Man, you’re doing vital job. It would be hard to properly inform people all over the world without help from aside. Thank you for what you’re doing ❤ everything will be Euro-Atlanticism. Слава Україні і нашим побратимам 🇺🇦🇦🇺
The 40's production values are tops but then you threw in "flight of the Valkeres" without having to resort to an "Apocalypse Now" meme. A perfect "10", keep the excellent work.
Soledar is a tiny village rather than a city. Germany should also remember who paid to rebuild their country, flew thousands of flights per day for months to keep Berlin supplied to prevent its fall to the USSR, who they have relied on for military protection so they could spend all of Germany’s money on its own citizens and industry, etc.
This is excellent. I keep up on the war non stop, but goddamn is it boring.. Your info is accurate and your delivery is entertaining.. I too would LOVE a monthly if not weekly vid like this. Great stuff, subbed, liked, and hope to see more.
