North Korean soldiers are the happiest men on earth. This is their chance to get away from North Korea without jumping checkpoints full of landmines and armed guards.
North Korea cant prevent the outside world from leaking in, the people know they are oppressed but are playing the part for self and family preservation.
True, they are probably volunteering by the hundreds of thousands. But you can be absolutely certain that Fat man had warned them by threatening their families if they desert...
North Korean soldiers finding out they can actually eat ordinary food at regular intervals, they are likely going to refuse any means to be sent back home. All Ukraine needs to do to defeat these troops is promise to feed them.
Most will return, for otherwise their greater family will meet unfathomable hardship. Furthermore, they will likely be kept far away from civilization and from good food to maintain the idea tbat live outside of NK aint better, preferably worse.
@@HansOvervoorde Their ability to flee will be dependent on how well the Russians are keeping a head count of their soldiers and volunteers. My guess is that it’s not a very good one
"The North Korean soldiers enter the outskirts of the battlefield. Before them lays a heavy layer of smoke. They assume it is from gunfire, tankfire, and smoldering bombs... ...then they smell it. It's BBQ. They throw down their arms and run into the smoke, almost eating it, waving whatever white rags they have while doing so, ecstatic if not euphoric over the potential promise of a meal..." Yeah, that's how I read it, anyways.
not possible... only western brain thinks like this... if north korean man leaves his familly and they are expected to be shamed or even punished for his desertion
I'd question that. NK, according to our media, is the worst place on Earth. Meanwhile, China, who is 100 percent as dystopian as I've ever heard compared to NK, is PRAISED by the western media, or mostly ignored for their failures. Ever heard of Tofu Dregs? Did you know how many EV graveyard sites are in China, or how many of their EV's have exploded in public due to poor manufacturing and corruption related cutting corners??
Everyone saying that North Korean soldiers will flee, but it's that the actual number of those who desert is likely to be quite small. These soldiers understand the severe consequences their families would face if they were to leave.
North Korea has roughly 1.5 million soldiers. Many on the verge of malnutrition. Russia has lost roughly 700,000 troops in Ukraine. Assuming North Korea soldiers would die at a rate not exceeding Russia, Korea would halve its military in just a couple of years. That doesn't seem like a good way to discourage South Korea if they were inclined to get firsky.
@@tarikhamou6222 I meant that as a critique of the first post. North Koreans doesn't reason like kids. They will not betray their Great leader. Just like the Soviets didn't betray Comrade Stalin during WW2.
Napoleon Bonaparte said this when he saw the British Army taking up positions at Waterloo with trees behind them........ Wellington said to Picton "There is no undergrowth in there, you can easily move a battery of nine pounders through there, a whole army could slip through there like rain through a grate..It may surprise you to know that I saw this ground a year ago and I have kept it in my pocket ."
Putins 5 step victory plan step 1. Sacrifice ur people for money. step 2. Sacrifice other dictatorship countrys people for money. True political genius… Ironically, huge diplomatic success as Putin helps more North Koreans escape those hellish conditions than any western country in recent history.
defecting soldiers results in multigenerational criminal punishment for the family you left behind. your kids/siblings parents and sometimes even grandparents suddenly get stuck in a labor internment for 10 years to life, because of YOUR actions. they are far more trapped than you think; when the "soldiers" have a lot more to lose by abandoning their post, compared to america's AWOL soldiers.
@@dustinherk8124 You know that some of the family members knew about their children's escape and they allowed it even if it got them punished for living in NK isn't really living. Plus even if you are sentenced to death you die knowing that your legacy will live on.
The west treads carefully, whist p don't give a f**k.This war could have been over and done if NATO actually did get involved. The wests hesitation costs lives
Because NATO is a defensive organisation and breached agreements with Russia. Plus troops from america and uk etc have already been fighting for Ukraine, this is well documented
1) why would it not be ok? DPRK is sovereign country 2) Ukraine is using NATO arms, NATO "volunteers", NATO intelligence. Since that is happening who is saying it's not ok?
Strangely, I think they’d be better received in the Ukraine. 70 years of seeing them as enemies will open up suspicion. Who knows. Maybe they’re spies playing defector.
you'd be surprised how brain washed they are, to NOT do that. especially when defection is a multigeneration crime there. You flee, and your kids/siblings and parents get life sentences in a labor internment camp. You sure you'd flee in your family was tied to the same conditions?
Congratulations on both sides of the policy of intolerance towards captured mercenaries. (I think it's understandable why the mercenaries on both sides carry a spare grenade for themselves)
North Korean soldiers are taught they are the best army in the world and that they will easily win over anybody. But on the frontline in Ukraine, they find out they are the weakest on the battlefield and get scared quickly. They never had to fight a real enemy so all their "training" was useless.
@@sillybillybrazillians Russia also doesnt have enough men, thats why they need help from North Korea.... if Nato were to deploy troops its game over for putin, but Nato is trying to win this without using their own troops.
@@DKi-f5ythey just got there. You can’t say which way they’re swaying, loyal or general defection, when we haven’t seen how good they even do on the battlefield.
@@Peppapig1000_2 NK hasn't been in a conflict since the Korean War and so none of them have no real combat experience and on top of that NK is a literal prison.
I have to laugh at Putin he thinks nothing of getting North Korea troops to fight for him, But he does not want other countries to send troops to Ukraine. talk about someone that is a bully, Ukraine has every right to have other countries to send troops to help them now.
very funny point is that European personal and US and UK personal also are fighting in Ukraine right ? who started dragging ppl into the fight ? u need to understand there are no such thing as a Russian ukraninen conflict its a proxy war just like the Gaza war is not Lebanon against Israel is Iran proxy vs the west
I have kept an eye on Kim, as in I watch a lot of videos he is featured in...I seriously have questioned whether or not he has ever mentally developed past a child. He is always smiling, not like a diplomat or a world leader, not even like a regular adult. More like a child at an amusement park. Even in this video he is smiling in a lot of the cutscenes, but he looks more like a child almost sayin "Weeee whoohoo yay!!! Look who I'm with teehee"...again almost like a child taking a picture with Mickey Mouse at Disneyland.
You know it would be real easy to get rid of Kim Un. Just call Israel (Masad), and have them send to Un some "Kosher Approved" McDonald's cheeseburgers. His favorite. lol
General Ben Hodges is dead wrong about the ammunition; any bad ammunition makes the whole lot bad because you just never know what you are going to get, are you going to shoot short or blow up the barrel? This is extremely dangerous for the gunners and reports have stated that gunners have died. It's like Russian roulette.
Kim is like that far kid who always says he can kick anyone’s ass and stands behind the big guys yelling “hold me back!”… Once the real fight starts he then jumps in hoping to land a blow on camera so he can have bragging rights! 😅
It's not that NATO is scared of Putin. . . .NATO is scared of who else would side with Putin if there was a full out war. Russia and China tend to do a lot of business together and no one wants to go to war with China. China imports over $50B in crude oil from Russia, + Coal, + Gas..
What are you guys thinking? NK will only send men who have families still in NK that they can threaten, and torture if needed. That was obvious from the start. NK won't send unmarried orphans. They'll make sure only family men get sent.
Putin attacked Ukraine. Simple. His aggression has increased the size of NATO and put Sweden and Finland into a high alert stance. As a result, NATO has greater presence than ever bordering Russia and they're also focusing more military as precaution. These imperial aggressive acts continues to be counterproductive and detrimental for Russia. Had Russia not invaded Ukraine beyond Crimea, Finland would still be neutral. This is all pretty simple.
@@ShawnShoptaughIndeed it isn't, there's also the multiple treaties between Ukraine and Russia that Putin breached, there's the anti western, anti liberalism retoric Putin uses and his regret that the Ussr is gone and his dreams of conquest to inceease Russia's borders...

let me get this right, according to Putin anyone can help Russia (who has precision weapons) but no one is allowed to help Ukraine who does not have precision weapons. Even with precision weapons Putin is basically losing. Honestly, I think his threats are empty at this point at least he does have that in common with Kim. Unfortunately, those two will most likely start WW3.
@@AngelofDeath-Y2K BRICS members can't afford nor will join in since their military and diplomatic relationships aren't as strong as NATO's, the very second it happens, they'll start cornering Russia into giving away more of its lands and assets in exchange of their support but they won't join directly. China and India are playing on both fields and would desolidarize in a heartbeat if Russia ever uses the nukes.
Because that would end in nuclear war. We shouldn’t be helping Ukraine in any way in the first place. They aren’t nato. In fact all they had to do to not start the war was to stop trying to join nato.

They have combat experience.. some soldiers got sent to Iraq and Afghanistan during the war. It was a minimal amount but they have learned a lot from the US I don’t think they need it tbh
How would they flee if their families are still in North Korea, they could easily threaten the soldiers with their families lives, wouldn't surprise me at all.
Have Russia not learned anything from this war 🤷🏻♂️ Making threats towards Britain and Poland is madness lol If nato got involved they Russian army would be destroyed in a week, along with anything NK could send. Ukraine’s tiny air force has kept the Russian air force at bay for years now, so can you imagine what a combined NATO air force attack would do! I don’t think they’d attack Russia directly but the message would be sent through back channels to either get rid of Putin and withdraw or face the consequences.

Ukraine's tiny air force supplied by the US. If it were left to just what they already had without western help, it wouldn't be as "good" as it's going for them. Zelensky is not a leader. He just asks for handouts. People on both sides are defecting because they're done with this shit. Ukraine is nothing to brag about. You can laugh at North Koreans deserting, but If you look at the even recent history of how Russians deal with deserters they have found, you should have a sick feeling in your stomach for the humans that will be tortured if found by their Russian commanders that make Russia look like a medieval civilisation. Thank god we aren't in any of their positions. Just remember that they are people too.
Same thing that would happen at home, except they have a much bigger chance to get away. The NORK's, I am sure will take the chance. We"ll see if it come to fighting their way out if they keep units together. What a shit show!
Yeah, the first thing I can think of is that they already threatened the soldiers with their families in the event they desert. There is no way they don't kill or torture family members that still live in NK.

Why would North Korea need to be there to manage the missiles they sent to Russia when the missiles were Russian missiles in the first place? So why wouldn't Russia be able to manage there own manufactured missiles that N.Korea bought from Russia in the first place
The only way North Korea can get what they want is to show unwavering support to Russia in hopes that Russia will back them when they need it. It has less to do with the Ukraine war and more to do with North Koreas future plans. Likely to expand into South Korea.
Lets see. Probably not.
