Ukraine's Accession to the EU: Is Europe Finally Ready for a Big Decision?

Ukraine is ready to start negotiations on EU accession. According to the European Union ambassador to Ukraine, the process may start as early as at the end of June. The European Commission approved the negotiating framework at the beginning of spring, on March 12th 2024. In order to successfully conduct negotiations, Ukraine will have to fulfil a list of requirements, 90% of which, according to EU officials, are already done. Is the EU finally ready to invite Ukraine and how is the process developing - watch in our news story.

I look forward to seeing Ukraine in the EU. Ukrainians will be able to study and work in all EU countries and Ukraine will be connected vía high-speed raíl to the trans European raíl network. When Ukrainians study in París, Nice or Hamburg, Russians will have to study in Pyonyang. Ukraine will have to qualify and fulfill all criteria as all other candidates. First there will come in the Western Balkan states, which are already in negotiation process with EU for many years. First step Ukraine must handle is corruption - still second place after Russia in European ranking!
