The more Ukraine presses northwards the closer to Moscow they get. The closer to Moscow they get, the more russian troops will have to pull out of Ukraine.

The British army trained these guys in classical maneuver warfare and it shows! Well done brothers from this side of the pond. It’s amazing to witness. That is so hard to do in such a short training regime. Hats off to the trainers! Well done.
Trained these guys in classic manoeuvre warfare? If this conflict has shown anything it’s that classic manoeuvre warfare doesn’t work anymore. The losses will be terminal. It’s like saying we are using the best WW2 tactics. There has been a paradigm shift and your statement is in itself proof that the west keeps making the mistake that taking a bit of turf and losing loads of men and gear is smart. The Russians just keep eradicating their opponents. The Ukrainian Army is crumbling and this silly attack will cost it dearly.
technicaly its no longer sovereign border ... where the border lies was in Budapest Memorandum 1994 where ukraine give away their nuclear arsenal for aknowlegment and setting up Russia-Ukraine border. By breaking that threaty by attacking Ukraine and trying to take away land even against their own agreement they anullment the sovereighn border between those 2 nations . If ukraine decide to move the line thay have now every right to do ... because there in no valid agreement where that border should lie. And russia is owing Ukraine back their nukes because they revoke that agreemetn.

@@dpelpal Guess what, politics determine your future. But in Russia is it really politics when ruled by a dictator, being involved in anything like politics would get one sent to Siberia. Russian people are not strong enough to stand up against Putin. I often wonder if the Russian people prefer war over peace and that war is in their blood. Sad days these are.
Ukraine still needs to be concerned about nuclear retaliation, but that shouldn't be an issue unless they start marching on Moscow, or start to substantially exceed the amount of territory that Russia controls in Ukraine. There's still a lot of room for Ukraine to expand in Russia without triggering nuclear doctrine.
It seems the internal defenses are pretty weak. But then again. Wagner was russian soo... the russian army letting them through was expected. But Ukraine Army? That might have to fight...
The Russian people I’ve seen on tv/news don’t really seem to care about any of it. The ones I’ve seen in interviews seem aloof. Maybe they will change now that the brave Ukrainian men are advancing. What selfless brave men.
YES - I said that they should have invaded Belgorod during month 1 of the war but then when I was at school did say that General McArthur should invade Inchon when the the UN were pinned down in the South of Korea in Pusan during that war. I did go onto RMA Sandhurst and studied General Stonewall Jackson 56/58 having served in Korea. During month one did state that that there should have been a no fly zone over Ukraine and a UN fleet in the Black Sea. I did state on my website that action should have been in 2014 when Russia invaded the Crimea
The weapons and training the NATO nations provides lends itself to this type of war fighting. Think the “gun-run to Baghdad”. Rather than digging trenches and slugging it out for years, this is the way the US does war. It’s just now that Ukraine is given “permission” to fight this way.
Why would they withdraw? What would be the advantage? If the frontline in this general are once more becomes more or less static, why not have it be static on Russias territory instead of Ukraine’s?
Would take at least 3 million fully trained and equipped men integrated into a combined arms military if you are talking about the ultimate goal of evicting Putin from power.
Can they though? That would require resources... But I agree that this push has done more for Ukraine then the whole stalemate and slowly losing territory. It is going to be costly... I still think they should go south to disrupt supply routes where possible... But again. That would take up a lot of resources. Lets just let Ukraine self handle that... they know better then us!
Withdrawing back to Ukrainian territories will also require resources. In either scenario they will have toehold a frontline against the Russian army, so why not do it some miles inside Russia instead at the border? There is no magic formula that would make it less costly to hold the line at either position.
Tritium production is expensive, nevermind the cost of maintaining the warheads themselves. Given how small the Russian MoD's budget has been since the Soviet Union fell, I doubt Putin actually has that many usable warheads!
The fact is that it is easier to attack the Russian main land that fight in Ukraine front lines. Creativity is a card that Ukrainian are playing usefully.
Of course they do. It's a square of kilometre dimensions - a thousand square kilometres of russian soil would be an incursion of perhaps 33 kilometres 333 metres deep across a front 33 kilometres 333 metres wide. It probably isn't exactly square but you get the picture. You're welcome...

Zoom the map out bud. Russia controls around 18% of Ukraine, just like they did two years ago, almost all of that taken in 2014 or in the opening days of the 2022 invasion prior to Ukraine mobilizing. The last time there was any movement on the line it was Ukraine retaking around 50% of the territory Russia occupied.
