It is NOT an escalation when the defensive side attacks into Russia. When you fight a defensive war for the lives of your very family and people, there is no escalation.
It's the same thing I keep saying that October 7 was never an escalation when the defensive attack Israel. When Hamas fighting a defensive war, lives of their family and friends plus their land matter more
@@Thomas19885 The difference is Ukraine didn't go into Russia and murder/rape 1000 Russians. Ukraine is a democratic country recognized internationally as such and then invaded. Not saying the Palestinians don't have grievances...they do, but comparing Ukraine to Hamas is a stretch. Hamas exists to see Israel destroyed. Ukraine doesn't exist to see Russia destroyed they just want Russian to leave Ukraine.

I respect anyone who is against US involvement but some of those people feel the need to rationalize that opinion by convincing themselves that Russia is not the agressor. I do not respect that.
In the past decade Russia has spent a fortune infiltrating American society through media. Especially social media, but there are also a few "news" outlets that echo Russian propaganda, outlets that offer more opinion than fact. The kind that get sued and lose vast sums for disinformation.
You mean the "armed by the US" forces of Ukraine. Honestly, I'm about tiring of the whole thing. We've just wasted billions upon billions of dollars trying to keep Biden and the Deep State's secrets hidden. Its high time to expose.

Hello, I am a South Korean student, 13 years of age, currently going to NaeJung Middle School, going by the name of EunSeo Hwang. I am frightened, as we all are, of the outcome of this war. I am scared out of my wits, my brain is short circuiting every day as the news informs me of heavy battles between Russia and Ukraine. Already Russia is advancing, gaining land. Yet, Ukrainian soldiers stand their ground and fight. The heartfelt support from people all over the world has given them another spark of hope. Both sides are suffering losses- it is important to remember that not all these Russian and Ukrainian soldiers are fighting to kill and to destroy the other side as of cold hearted malice- they fight for their lives, for their people and for their families waiting for them desperately. I am confident all of you here know this very well. I want to thank CNN for keeping us informed on the deathly battle between the two forces- I do not think I could live if I were to stay completely ignorant. I want to thank all the people who are fighing, whether in battle or on the Internet or at home- against the tyranny of this situation. I want to thank everyone here willing to listen to a young South Korean girl listening to CNN. Have a nice day.
We are aĺl concerned. Russ😅IA c a not be allowed to win, and we t he west will not allo w it. We would not stand by if northkorea attacked the south, or if c hina attacks taiwan.. keep the faith , democracies will get through this
@SouthKoreanstudent, what you see happening regarding the senseless war started by the Russians on Ukrainian sovereignty is simply a sign of how man has & continues to be his own worst enemy in society. I'm sure it's something you've been concerned about with the on going threat of North Korea engaging South Korea by crossing the DMZ in that region of the world, that the United States has been protecting since the potential end of the Korean War back in 1953.
@@csonracsonra9962 hmm! 🤔 💭 I believe the cable news network CNN has gone about checking itself over the years. you are a young lad that should be learning history and asking questions about the evil forces that allowed this war to even start for their selfish gains. The NATO breeched their own agreement and the USA and EU are backing them and using Ukraine as proxy. I am sad but the USA and it's allies should not be bullying just other country. This war would have started if Boris Johnson had shut his evil mouth. Please learn and stop letting these pro-evil people fill your head with thrash. CNN and BBC are just doing their pay masters' bidding. Get updates from credible news sources and not politically biased media outlets. CNN and BBC are the same ones that made it look like Ukraine was winning this war when in actual fact, Russia was advancing.
The West is indebted to Ukraine for fighting this war. It's ridiculous that some Americans see this as a waste while looking past the hundreds of billions spent on defense. Glory to Ukraine!
USA is destroying another entire country just to get their one guy again. This playbook is getting really old. And you support this crap especially after president z did away with democracy and their elections. And you support this crap ? You and crap joe Biden supporting authoritarian regimes. You people are lying frauds
We see the value, but where was this in 2008, 2012 and 14 with Crimea, the voting for annexing those regions cou de tah, 8 years of fighting by yourselves. ExxonMobil, Chevron and shell have spent the same amount of money in natural gas exploration in the same time frame, explain to me how this doesn't sound like a profiteering war on resources and geopolitical positioning?
Simply AMAZING coverage!!! Actually seeing what the BRAVE Ukrainian Defenders do and how intelligent they are with the drones! Fascinating! Stay safe and be careful! Slava Ukraini!
Ah, MUGA. Lol. I see what you've done there. You've imitated MAGA. You know what they say...imitation is the purest form of flattery. I suggest you continue to pay more attention to what Trump says. Maybe you'll pick up on a few more key points, etc.
The worst thing is that this war is becoming "a new normal" in the world and in the region. It could have been won already yet that time was lost. Now collective trauma and negativity is ever increasing and it will have impact for decades and maybe even a couple hundred years.
It was a mistake to believe from the very beginning that Ukraine would defeat Russia. But no one except the ukrotrolls and the Nazis thought so. The United States sacrificed Ukraine from the very beginning in order to weaken Russia. Ukraine was sacrificed, but Russia never weakened
@@TeArk Hindsight 20/20 It could have ended. We don't have any excuses anymore Let's remember the ones who gave their lives and the ones who are responsible
In some ways this war is very bizarre. Imagine if in WWII the US made a rule they weren’t allowed to strike on Japanese soil, or the UK made a rule that they were only allowed to stay on their island and defend. Is not being allowed to attack your enemy (in self-defense) common in other wars?
The US had a lot of stupid self owned rules in vietnam. Not bombing military in the north. Not targeting Chinese in the north. And on and on it goes. We all know how that went.
ukraine and isreal as subsidiaries/proxies of usa at this point, they are being used that way. same with idf/nato. usa is vicariously liable for the crimes occuring in gaza/ukraine. the international court case vs natanyahu if properly prosecuted should have usa and plenty of usa officials added as joinder defendants for vicariously liability reasons. also nato invaded ukraine. it's not an ukrainian entity that went there to seize control. usa doing this is idf, and also sending funds to taiwan for similar reasons. they seize control of a weaker smaller country to use it as a subsidiary/proxy country vs a larger enemy. in taiwans case the usa is planning to use it in some scheme against china. will happen at some point into the future but usa is sending funds to prep the conditions.
Seems their ears are the best defense vs incoming drones. This implies they should have sound antennas, to hear them from further away, right? Next step is a targeting system paired with that antenna...

2:57 "The Imperial March" as a chip tune was a nice touch as they were loading the explosives. Ukraine really is resisting against a version of the Galactic Empire ran by the Sith.
Pretty sure Russia isn’t going to let NATO cozy up to their boarder. I can’t seem to blame them. I know we wouldn’t allow Russia or China to cozy up to ours.
I don't know if it is wise to report the details and show the face and names of the soldiers. What if they are being taken prisoners and the enemy retaliates?
The Russians underestimated the Ukrainians' fight for sovereignty in that region of the world. I'm sure the Russians thought it was going to be an easy task like that of taking over "The Crimean Peninsula," where Ukrainians laid down their arms to become part of Russians' territory back in 2014.
Less than one mile from the Russian lines, a Ukrainian soldier sweats through the late-night chill as he readies the first of the night’s armed drones. A red lamp attached to his head casts a dim light as he works. The drone’s launching pad is made of battlefield debris-shattered ammunition crates, limbs from trees-concealed inside a fresh bomb crater. Once the drone is airborne, pilot and navigator confront a flurry of warning messages: “GPS ERROR” followed moments later by “BATTERY FAULT.” The drone crashes. It’s the start of a long, typical night for the Achilles Battalion on Ukraine’s eastern front. Since June 2023, propaganda videos from both Ukrainian and Russian drones-known as first person view (FPV) drones-have spread across social media platforms, creating a new and modern narrative for the grinding war. The videos show drones that explode on impact, destroying vehicles, cutting down unaware soldiers or those fleeing the assault. At this point in the war, drone pilot is a highly sought-after role among Ukrainian forces. The fierce competition for the rare open positions draws both injured soldiers who must continue to serve and new soldiers wishing to avoid the horrors of frontline combat. . A member of the Night Bombers unit prepares to launch an FPV drone from an artillery crater, using smashed ammunition boxes as a launching pad. In April, I traveled to Ukraine and attached with the 92nd Brigade’s Achilles Battalion, whose soldiers were making a name for themselves as a professional drone unit. With the frontline teams, I witnessed the intense and anxious moments as they piloted their drones over Ukrainian forward positions and into Russian territory. I also watched units a few miles from the front that were arming and assembling drones, driven by a mix of anxiety and innovation as they repurposed materials to deploy against the enemy.
Brilliant story, Brilliant... makes me feel like some people forget how tough life is on the civilian side ... tax, law, property!!! And this war became just a waiting game for those who have no chance!
War sucks, but it also seems like the right time in UA to really start testing anti-drone systems. It's going to be a critical part of any war soon. As AI becomes integrated, the skies are going to be filled with them. I would argue they will be more impactful than 100 million dollar fighter jets. Control of the low altitude for drones is going to be critical.
This speaks to the difference in development. Our nations (Canadian, assume you're American) are for more developed than Ukraine is, and most of the warfare going on there simply would not work here. Drones operate within a fixed radio band, jamming those bands leaves all our infrastructure intact while disabling drones. Oh, then there's directed EMPs which both our nations have, which we'd simply need to point in the vague direction of incoming drones and they all fall out of the sky. Small drone warfare is, ironically, only suited to the less advanced. The Iranian drone is just a kamikaze minus the pilot, the removed the waste of life, but single use equipment is no good, be like in the old days using flintlock pistols and throwing it aside the moment you fire since it's useless now. (Actually a great scene in the show Sleepy Hollow where Ichabod, a recently resurrected revolutionary soldier fighting against hell, who fights for the English, and he's given a handgun which he throws away after a single shot, not realizing they had multiple rounds now, "Would that not have been useful information to share before?!")
Sure but fighterplanes are hardly gone. Ukranie want more planes and Russia pounds Ukraine with planes. Drones are just an adition. Also drones cannot kill a plane. So there is that.

The only thing sad is that a senile megalomaniacal dictator decided to invade his neighbour and that Ukrainians are losing their lives, loved ones and land because of it.
Supporting Ukraine is putting America first. America represents democracy and defeating the fascist dictatorship in Russia with American defense budget without putting soldiers on the ground while simultaneously reducing mothballed storage (and reducing their enemies defense capability so far by 40%) is an efficient use of Defense budget. So glad you acknowledge what a majority of Republicans also acknowledge...Helping Ukraine helps America.
