Nato is not only useful but very important, specially for european countries which are medium and small countries, without many militar capabilities. We, euros, need to stick together to be safer, that's the point of nato.

At first I was undecided about sending U.S. soldiers there, just because that kind of policy has backfired on us so many times......but allies are allies, promises were implicitly made, and Putin's mentality is such that he wouldn't respect a statement against further Russian military adventurism without some teeth in it.

The best form of action is distraction. It's far cheaper to let another country start a war than start a war your self. Alot of soldiers would feel courageos participating in a large scale war, even though it would be tragic for both sides. The biggest panic is happening in western media for some reason.
