1-4 Espada were vasto lorde before arrancarization. Segunda etapa is not a tehnique of his first ressureccion, like Tigre Estoque of Ggio Vega, one of Barragan's fracciones, but a completely new release/ressureccion. If you watch Unmasked, a short manga where is showed Ulquiorra's past as a vasto lorde, you will see at the end of that chapter that he became a natural arrancar. The interesting fact is that his form as a natural arrancar looks very similar with his first ressureccion, with a full helmet/crown, like a pseudo-ressureccion, similar to Iceringer and Demoura, the arrancars that never sealed their power into a weapon, that Uryu and Chad fought. My thoughts are that Ulquiorra sealed his power when he became a natural arrancar in his own body. Later, he will met Aizen which will make him a perfect arrancar with Hogyoku, and he will make his sword from half of his helmet, Kubo confirm that the arrancars weapons are made from the mask that was ripp of. When Ulquiorra goes segunda etapa, it looks like the power is released from his body, because he sealed his power into his own body when he became a natural arrancar, before Aizen broke half of his remaining helmet to make Ulquiorra's sword which will represent his first ressureccion. Ressureccion is pretty much associated with a bankai, so I will say that his segunda etapa is his full bankai, similar to how Yumichica can release just half of his shikai. I will not going into a discussion if segunda etapa makes him the strongest or not, because it will never end. If Ulquiorra chooses to sacrifice his regeneration for more power, he will be number 3 even without segunda etapa.
You don't know if he'd be number 3 but it's possible. But the gap in power between number 2 and 3 is extremely large it's not even close as confirmed in CFYOW as Arrancar Hallibel and Grimmjow and Nel combined aren't as strong as Vasto Lorde Barragan. Also, Starrk's power isn't from his broken mask. It's sealed in an extra body as in lillinette
haniball was disappointment, based on how strong ulqiora is she should have 1 shotted toshiro but for some reason she couldn't so not sure about her being N3, barragans power was OP af so you can argue and stark was fighting kioraku so you couldn't rly see diff because kioraku strong af + he wasn't using full power but hannibal shouldn't be N3 i would argue, in my personal opinion second res ulquiora claps all espadas but theres no proof so arguing is pointless

If he choose power over regeneration, he will definitely be stronger than her even without segunda etapa. And Barragan was allready an imperfect natural arrancar when he fought Aizen, like Ulquiorra. Gran Caida is his weapon in ressureccion, and him being an imperfect natural arrancar when he fought Aizen make sense why he could use it at that time, because when a hollow became a natural imperfect arrancar and they didn't seal the power from the broken mask into a weapon, they are into a state of pseudo-ressureccion, like Demoura and Iceringer. Gran Caida is the result of his power, like Luz de la Luna is the weapon of Ulquiorra in ressureccion. Most likely Barragan obtain Arogante and his old man form after Aizen perfected him with Hogyoku. So the version of Barragan about which Ikomikidomoe was talking was not hollow vasto lorde Barragan, but imperfect arrancar vasto lorde Barragan. So the gap between Barragan and Harribel is big, but imperfect arancar Barragan > arrancar Harribel, not hollow vasto lorde Barragan > arrancar Harribel.
@@skein8494 Well, Ulquiorra fought in Hueco Mundo, where the reishi is more dense, which make hollows more powerfull. And also, Harribel had power over water, and Toshiro had power over ice, which is a perfect counter for her. Harribel was definitely stronger than Toshiro at fake Karakura arc, but the fact that she didn't use cero oscuras and gran rey cero was dissapointing. I guess Kubo just didn't want to kill any of the captains.

in japanese the word "kokoro" that is translated as "heart", doesn't mean the organ heart. it's more of a concept that include bonds and stuff like that.
Because Ulquiorra is the only Espada who achieved a Segunda Etapa and kept it a secret from everyone else, many fans in the community believe Ulquiorra is a lot stronger than his #4 spot. Some claim he’s the strongest Espada but I don’t know if I would go that far. I can imagine he as at least stronger than Harribel who is 3. Maybe you can decide after you’ve seen what the other Espada can do?
Spoilers ahead: Ulquiorra is the most powerful espada and its not even close. Heres my arguments. Vasto lorde ichigo would stomp top 3 espadas in less than a minute,how? Aizen literally planned ichigos entire life and expected ichigo to be his rival after obtaining strength to beat ulqiorra. Kubo answered the question if grimjow could could get secunda etapa and he said hes if he trained and became strong enough, why thats relevent? Ulquiorra went bankai while the rest of espadas are stuck in shikai and yet some fools still argue if ulquiorra is stronger than haribel whe she couldnt beat fucking toshiro... Also espadas arent ranked by strength but rather spiritual pressure thats why yami is number zero. Because once he gets enough rage he gets the most spiritual pressure, theres no limit to how much spiritual pressure he can get.
@@helly9015spoiler Kubo revealed that if ichigo was not scared of what he did as complete hollowfied against ulquiorra, in fake karakura town his hollowfication would have been identical to the one that killed ulquiorra, that’s why aizen said that by that point his power should be much greater. Ichigo should have had that same power he used to kill ulquiorra against him, enough to pose a challenge to aizen who, by his own statement, is stronger than all espada combined.

Although Ishida hasn't defeated any of the current Espadas, his performance against 3 of them was commendable. About this battle with Ulquiorra, probably the most hyped fight in the show, top4 were definitely a threat, but this one went especially hard. Segunda Etapa is one of those things that generated a neverending debate among fans, yet it's hard to scale it properly, as he was overpowering Ichigo even with his first release, over than what will happen in next episodes.
Wierd that orihime would have trouble dealing with raw spiritual pressure considering she's essentially stronger than God. What a waste of powers she could literally reject someone's very existence and they'd just dissappear forever she even said it herself she'd erase the hogyouku.
