Ultimate Bee Taming and Honey Guide - How to get and use Honey in Ark Survival Ascended

The day i tamed a bee, i got eaten by a megatherium. That was the end of bee taming that day. A day later when casually strolling in the redwoods, as one does, i could hear a bee. I now am a bee momma. She's an angry child and stings me when i come and say hi, unless i look like a wish version of a houseplant. She's on housearrest for now.

Awesome video i played alot of ase an seen the guides on bees for all different maps but with asa wanted to look an see new videos being made an make sure there isnt any changes watched 5 videos before i found this one an was shocked none of them mentioned bug repellent at all i thouggt maybe i was mistaken an its not needed but from what i remember the queen wont stop shooting out drones an stays angry an ive seen ppl say they run in fast no ghillie spam e button an it works but in all my years that has never worked for me i have hard enough time when fully prepared woth ghillie an bug spray but maybe im just unlucky or to slow anyways very helpful guide super relaxing to listen to an learn from very well done :) youve earned sub and like from me by far best guide ive seen for bees in asa didnt feel like video was dragged out an over complicated but also wasnt rushed which is very nice so very well done video thabk you for taking time to share this :) have great day looo forward to seeing more asa content i just randomly found your channel looking for videos on bees so not sure what kind of content you mainly cover but regardless looking forward to seeing more :)

you can attract the Quetzal too with honey to make it land on ground and you can trap and tame it on ground without all the hustle up in the sky. amazing guide like always, thank you.

Another great video! I didn’t know about throwing/dropping it in the wild to attract creatures yet so I’m definitely glad I watched it.

I also figured out a method last night involving the bear (no not Halsin from BG3) I built a ramp up to the nest and placed two ceilings, then walling the nest in a box while leaving the ramp entrance open so my bear could BEARLY fit her head in. I had her smash the hive, then I placed a doorway and door. Voila! The yass queen was trapped and I could tame her before she flew up into the stratosphere like Icarus chasing the sun. I have a clip I may upload it to clarify further if people want.

As of 27th Dec 2023 - This has changed and depending on the Queen it may take 1 or more kibbles. Nice thing is once you get the 1st kibble, you get a taming marker. The longer you take between kibbles, the quicker the taming bar goes down. So a lot more difficult and not as simple as running up to a queen and spamming E for a quick once tame. I can only assume they have increased the tame requirements or the Queens have levels and hence effects taming levels.

Ive had my bear parked on a structure I built on a redwood with 2 hives on it. I think it's time to tame them now.

Okay after like maybe 15 plus hours of trying I got it down. I got 8 queens, more than enough yesterday (over several hours). You pretty much cover the bases well, but some things to emphasize: * The queen might not show up for what ever reason. And might end up inside the tree. If inside the tree, you might be able draw her out by going close then backing off a few times. Seems like she will probably eventually come out, but then move in some random direction. * Even if she makes the detection sound, with kibble in slot '0', spam 'E' anyhow. Even though I heard the sound, she still ate it many times. I didn't crouch very much. Just kept my distance and then tried to run behind her apparent field of view. Try to face her back as the game apparently considers some cone of vision. * Use simple kibble as flowers will be a lot more time requiring you to do multiple feeds. Unless maybe on these 3x weekends, flowers might be an insta-tame too. You don't have to build up a ramp and try to trap in the queen. I tried that at first but found I didn't need too. Probably, the queen can still go inside the tree anyhow, which then you will have lost all your time placing the ramp, etc., maybe for nothing. I use either my Aargy or Petra to take swiping passes at the hive. I stay close so can keep track if the queen falls out right away. There is timing and distance you need to control/track that you'll gain from experience trying to tame the queens. Keep just outside of where the bees will attack. You will still need to run off in an opposing direction to run away from them at times. Stay Crabby!

Guys, if you’re on PS5 you have to spam triangle to feed the bee, but it takes a while to get the feed screen to come up, so be patient. It only took me 3 days and 10 bee hives to get 1 😅…I think some of the bees are glitched because of server issues, but don’t give up!

Love your work. I haven't found any bees though. Was this unintentional and patched or should I keep looking?

I had a problem last night where the queen just disappears. This was over four or five hives I tried. Also very strange with the giant/worker bees. They dissipate very quickly. If you move even around 10m away they disappear. So if you do a drive by with your Argy there is little chance you will be attacked unless you stay very close to the hive after you hit it. I have a hypothesis for the phenomenon. They added a thing called "dynamic render distance". It looks like if you are on a server when it is close to it's limit or maxed that the render distance is low. You might notice if you try following someone when the server is busy it's difficult because even if they get like 20 or 30m in front of you they disappear from view. The servers that they want to use, and within their design, can only handle so much at once. So this might be a trade off for performance which ends up being a diminished experience the more people that are on at once. Apparently for instanced creatures like these bees, if they go out of render distance they don't just disappear from view, they also disappear from the server period. At least for the case when a server is so heavily populated. Still need more testing to prove this theory (got to work now). Need to get on early in the morning when there are few people on for a official and/or just make a private server. If this is indeed the case, probably the solution is the one someone suggested where you enclose the hive with walls and ceilings so once the queen gets out it's stuck in the immediate area. Use the dire bear to break the hive, etc. Use a ramp or temporarily drop a platform or two and use an elevator instead maybe.

How many pots of honey can your tamed bee hive produce in the inventory? You might’ve said that but I didn’t catch it

I’m trying to catch one so I put the flowers in my fast slot then I use the flower right on the bee after it comes out of the hive?

Will a hive function if it is clipped through a wall? I have a hive full of rare flowers sitting on a stone foundation and its not producing honey. It partially sticks through a wall and that's the only thing I can think of that might be a problem.

I've noticed if I'm wearing a full tek suit I take damage from opening the hive, but I don't get the debuff.

I don't know if this is a console issue, but I just can't klick on it to feed her, been running around for hours and yes I have full ghillie + bug repellant and rare flowers in the last slot. I tried with hives and with free roaming bees. I just can't get one

question when i finde a hive i destroy it but no queen bee comes out after i destroyed it the bee drones came attacking me but no queen be was in hive help pls :D

The prompt hardly ever pops up. I was wondering if there was a timer or they had to spawn a certain amount of drones before the prompt but it just seems your lucks gotta be in.

How does this look so easy, when I try I can't get it to eat the flower. Is there something I'm missing?

If anyone can give me any tips that would be helpful. I've been having problems taming them. I've done everything it says, ghilli, bug spray and the flowers in the last hot bar. But when I run up to the bee it doesn't give me the option in blue to tame her.

Can't find beehives on locations from ASE. And I've never seen a roaming bee queen, is it server rules or vanila?

Spent 3 hours looking for a queen. Finding nothing I give up on this broken game. This game doesn't work properly. Can't believe they're allowed to sell such broken games. Enemies don't respawn. Resources don't respawn. Now this.. just forget it. This game isn't worth playing.
