According to the wiki on these things, the more levels they have added after tamed/raised, the gigantoraptors will actually give higher levels when force claiming/taming babies. So a lvl'd gigantoraptor = better taming effectiveness on the babies when you grab them. On pc/steam, pressing left ctrl while riding the gigantoraptor on your keyboard can pick up babies and auto put them in a basket.
Crabby you create fantastic, well researched, accurate and straight forward high quality content. You are my first point of call for anything ARK. You should have 100K+ Subs.
As always, Crabby delivers with the best science-based videos. Absolutely loved this one. Holy hell the glide distance!!! And the galli race! Super fun. Thanks for sharing your on-point research!
oh I mention that briefly in the video you cannot do it if you did not imprint the gigantoraptor you tamed. Say a tribe mate did or another player. You can only put the babies in the baskets if you did the imprint on the original tame of the gigantoraptor you are trying to put in the basket
The bond is permanent unless you manually remove it. But the buff only starts kicking in and it’s temporary when the baby starts killing stuff with the parent nearby.
Do you know if raised babies drop a higher level % feahter? Example, you bredd your 209 tamed with a 54 tamed bird. And you get a 189 bird. Will the feather be a higher or will it be lower because of the lower tame? Thanks
Hatching in the bird seems to screw up the stats for super bred up dinos. So if you got crap random tames to begin with the buffs might might be good to have, else probably bad. And too I wonder if this setup can help breed actually. Like if you use all melee points in a high level bird, it can potentially boost the hatched egg tame.
First video and so far love the content been looking for someone to cover to new chicken so I know if it’s worth it to put on our server thannnnk you didn’t even know it can pick up babies or allow you to pluck feather to better breed 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Was excited about the bonding thing, until I experienced how long it took just to bond one pair of babies. The rest time limits how fast you can do it. I have all high level tames so I had to kill 90 or higher. Went to the underworld which is all pillared thus the spawns over flat areas were great. If you try hunting around hills it will be difficult because some of the hunt targets will be above or below you. Also if you are over a cave it will target dinos inside the cave below you. At any rate need to get an exact time, but I'd say close to an hour per pair. If you want to bond with all 18 of a boss group (slots for a Yuty and the bird) you are looking at nine hours maybe. And then if your bonded bird dies all the time is for naught. Although if you go though all that trouble, maybe this is a pretty OP boss layout.
@@Crabbytron First time I've been playing on official. Before played with just family on a private server where we must have had it at least 4x all the time. Saying it's been a grind on official would be an understatement. Got into it. Play like four to sixteen hours a day on average. Plus on official you also have to deal with people pillar spamming a good 75% or more of the entire map, etc. Been interesting, but unless you are really into playing with lots of people, and can't afford your own server, I really wonder if it's even worth it.
I have been scouring the internet trying to figure out how to scale the bonding AMOUNT. Any chance you would know? Needing 21kills for a lvl 125 doed seems a bit much, and is currently impossible with my maturing rates...
Oh are you on official. I’m playing unofficial and our breeding and imprinting rates are fast. My best guess is that if you increasing imprinting and breeding you will require less kills
Im running my own unofficial server. I have tried messing with the breeding and imprinting rates but they dont seem to affect the hunt amount sadly. @@Crabbytron
Imagine raising an army of Ceratos with the Gigantoraptor, bringing it to a boss fight next to a Yuty. Then sending your buffed self-healing spike monsters to shred every boss.
this is an amazing video. very detailed and outlines really well. I kinda would have wanted to see them in a boss fight with a group of maybe 14 rexes 1 yutty and then one parent (bird) so 7 rexes bonded 7 non bonded and see how the numbers stack up. On Gamma Beta and Alpha respectively~ Again amazing work! Thanks!
I can’t believe how many things I missed. When my friend got on their first bird I thought hey that’s fairly fast, had no idea they were faster than a galli. I also didn’t know the feathers were linked to the raptors best stat The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t stand on its back when dismounting. Especially for imprinting babies that are in the saddle they are always just out of reach. I also wish its calls were better and more unique
Do we know if there's a setting that effects the NUMBER of hunts that a baby wants to go on? I always see videos where 100+ lvl babies want two hunts but on my server, it's 25 and the baby's mature speed is so fast that every creature will be grown long before I'm able to create the bond.
So i have 1 gigantoraptor an i plucked feathers everyday since the creature has released an i get same stamina feather with same exact % 60.77 or something the % doesnt change which i expected but also its always for stamina so my question is if i want hp or melee or weight do i need new gigantoraptor for each of those and is this gigantoraptor that i tamed only ever gonna gove stamina feathers? Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me figure these questions out :)
@@TakenCypress369 ha ha ha no worries yup it’s gonna give you the same one. You’ll need to take one with a higher health stat or melee but hard to tell unless you have a mod or Tek binoculars
I think that a Rex/whatever strong Dino you prefer as your army + a yuty rider and a giga chicken raptor rider that has bonded to the army for sure is the way to go.
@@Crabbytron Exactly!! On our friend server, we often struggled to decide who was riding who in the boss arena. Pigs honestly aren’t that useful imo so a lot of us ended up just riding the rexes. This guy is a perfect addition to the team!
first of all, nice video! something worth testing could be what after the 30% imprint from bonding? i had bonded with a creature but after that when i imprinted the baby it reset the imprint so i'm not sure what causes this. it didn't add up to the existing 30%. now this may be a bug but maybe you have to go out with the baby again in the basket. i'm not sure.
Oh no I didn’t have that happen so you bonded then imprinted and then the 30% you got at the start disappeared. Was this before or after the recent update ?
I had heard that which stat the Gigantoraptor feather gives in determined by the starting stats of the raptor and unaffected if you level them up to make another stat their highest. Can you confirm this from your testing?
It’s the base level stat whatever the highest stat is of that is the feather you get that’s why it’s the same every time. Still not sure how it decides if two are the same though
@@Crabbytron my Wheel appears empty and i get the msg, thanks for the replies. I also have some issues with the official mods, they wont show up either when you right click the empty skin icon in cosmetics, I could place the glass walls etc. before, but now the wont show either, is probably MoD related RIP.
Yes, I haven’t been able to play with the mod because it was crashing the server I was playing on so I wanted to know if the gigantoraptors could be uploaded
