I like how for eggs you want Heavy, Stinky, Rainbow sparkly eggs. Then when you go back to the stables to hatch it it's smell is labeled as "Good/Great etc...." It's so Monster hunter.
@@TokyoLeee Just the standard. Don't think the collectors was available in the UK. Plus the site I ordered the game from was cheaper then Nintendo so I went with them. I did order the Rathalos Amiibo
I'm not only new to Monster Hunter Stories, but to Monster Hunter in general. I started yesterday and I have to find some kind of "invisible" monster next, but I'm not sure what makes a good monstie or what attributes for weapons and armor are good. So I'm happy that this guide (and other on RU-vid) exists. Thank you very much :) Also I'm hapoy to see that you've got a Nargacuga in your party as well.
A game hasnt hooked me like this in forever, im spending the night at my girlfriend’s house tonight but i keep finding my mind wondering back to MH haha…
I'm late to the party and I had a lot of trouble understanding the gene stuff in Stories 1, so it's a huge relief to hear that it's not a big deal for the main story this time (it might not have been a big deal in the first one either but I never finished it lol)
riders be like: "hunters are bad because we can be friends with monsties!" also riders: take the baby. "hunt" the parent for trying to protect its baby. make armor from their parts just like hunters. raise baby as your own to take more babies from more parents. lmao sure buddy, "friendship"
Thank you for all that you do! I was worried I would have no idea how to play these games, but your guides have been great will definitely be picking this up as my first MH game :)
All these years playing Monster hunter, with Arekz always here with his tutorials and guides throughout the years is heartwarming. Thank you Kratos and bless your beautiful beard!
DO NOT level any monster you intend to use in your party or to sacrifice for genes by way of expeditions. Any monster that is below your character level gains a massive boost to experience gained from combat encounters whether they participated in the fight or not. At endgame a single fight can take a fresh monstie from level one to level 48-50 by just being in your party. Expeditions are best spent on the Treasure Hunting task. This will give you ample supplies of nutriments, charms, and high quality vendor trash.
I’m only getting my switch in a couple of days. Bought it to finally plah MH! My last was MHFU and all the release after that, I didn’t buy the next gen consoles to be able to play them. I was so excited to be able to play Rise, but now I found out theres this game! Which should I play!?!?!
Both ideally! MHRise is incredibly fun, and since it’s been out for a while, it’ll be cheaper than MHST2 which just came out. (at least for the physical copies) So maybe play MHRise + free demo of MHST2, and by the time you’re done, MHST2 might be a little cheaper.
@@pkminpkmon Actually I don’t need to demo Rise as the switch im getting is the MHR Deluxe edition lol. Wife gave the a-okay to buy a switch so I got greedy xD
Finally managed to buy a game within a few days of release and it has been a BLAST so far! Absolutely love this game, I haven't been hooked so hard and so fast in a long time. Can't wait for the Soulseer Mizutsune release, that's a gorgeous monster and one of my favorites! Here's to hoping this game gets the success it needs for the series to be continued!
With the monster hunter amiibos you can get layered armor, one for rise amiibo other for stories amiibo, as for other games you get lunar lucky tickets that give random items
Can I still get that armor from monster hunter game demo to have it in my monster Hunter stories 2 wings of ruin and I don't have that monster hunter game.
Beginner question here. I’m having a hard time knowing what the battle order will be. I feel like I select my attacks sometimes and then the NPC will take their turn before it gets to my move? Is there an on screen indicator I’m missing?
Theres a little bit of luck to it, but theres also several other factors. When looking at you/your monstie's stats, there will be a stat for speed(I think its called that), which is more-or-less how fast you are at acting first. Gene bonus for non-elemental(unless they scrapped it, which they probably did since it isnt in Arrekz's gene tutorial video) can increase your speed by 1, allowing something with 5 speed to be able to act faster, with 6 speed. This doesnt guarantee you will act first every time though. In short, there is technically no battle order, but the speed statistic does affect the chances of acting before the opposition.
@@nexiledflare5070 thanks! I’m starting to figure it out more. But definitely still confusing. Kinda feels like it makes it random at times. Loving the game through. 😀
@@ArekkzGaming I came to the conclussion that it just seems a bit random. If I do it the same way every time it seems like a 33% chance to either barely lose, barely win or have a crushing victory the moment the Countdown appears.
The only thing i need to know now is if i want to break a part of the monster but he resist blunt weapon, should i go with the weakness or take the hammer (that is said in the game to be the go to weapon to break parts)?
Use the weapon weakness instead of just blunt cause the parts will break faster and that usually will cause a higher chance to retreat, you can also check that in the field guide on the second page of the menu
@@Fox_Olive and if i use the Spinning meteor skill that is a part breaking move? or for bow if i use the pierce shot that is also a part breaking move on a part that resist it?
The sword and shield is for noobs but it also does the weakest dmg in the game. The greatsword is pure mindless fun with big dmg. If you're just starting out, you never really need the defense from sword and board if you're following the weakness of each creature you fight. Battle horns are OP as hell in this game. From boosting defense, to healing your entire party. Always keep one on. The bow deals slightly more damage than S&B but you have to charge it to do higher damage output. I'd still say keep it on as its a better piercing weapon than the gunlance, far more varied as well. Ah the gunlance...look, the reality is; every game in existence, had a bad weapon, and MHS2 is no exception, the gunlance be that weapon, and it be bad all the way through. Like a nerf dildo, it looks nice, but ultimately useless.
Anybody knows if you can already play coop missions? Me and my girlfriend are enjoying the game to its fullest but we wanna do some cool quests together.
apparently you need to get fairly into the story before co-op unlocks. Im like 5 hours in and still havent reached it yet. It seems like the game is taking its time introducing each new mechanic
Started playing rise a few weeks ago, I love it but I feel like it sucked me in almost as much as vanilla wow 20 years ago. Don’t know why I bought mhs2 … maybe I need to quit my job now.
You can get them from quests and from treasure chests in dens! If you start the Riders Challenge - Blue Menace quest, you can just keep going in that den, getting the chests, teleporting out to the catavan, and then going back in again to farm chests. Just make sure not to kill the blue guy or you'll have to go to town to pick up the quest again (nor a big deal tho, there's no limit on how many times you can do it).
So, let's be real here. I bet everyone watching thought stories 1 is going to be a shit game. When capcom first announced they are bringing a monster hunter turn-based rpg to the west. And after playing the demo, and getting into the story itself. I can imagine everyone was mind blown at the creativity of this Pokemon-like game. I honestly thought it was a beautiful change to how we players think of monsters rather than beasts that need to be slain or just want to bully for the kicks. This game mind blew me. I never knew how excited I was when I first got to ride a rathalos in MHS1. But now that we have MHS2 my mind has become the big bang! Literally, I just can't find anything bad about it. Other than the frequent cat puns. and Navirou not shutting up lol. But other than that the game is amazing the way the hunters become the antagonist was pretty easy to understand. And I just freaking love the discourse between hunter and rider. It's honestly just amazing.
@@skitzer5195 I got it on the Nintendo switch and I have no problems with it. Maybe try using a controller with a USB cable attached and see how it works for you.
I downloaded the demo and was really surprised. I liked it A LOT. It has what I love: turns in combat and collecting monsters. I hope I can afford the game soon, maybe for Christmas.
I blame you for me finding this game. I would have never known about it if I didn't watch your bloody RU-vid videos. And boy am I glad that I didn't miss out on this amazing game. Thanks, and thanks for the awesome guide.
I've really been enjoying this game a lot so far. The only thing I haven't figured out is how to know which ingredients (or items/ monster parts etc) you need to upgrade your weapons/armor. The menu only gives me ??? and I don't know where to farm.
Fellow Hunters I must ask for advice. Should I buy the collectors edition or just buy the game and the dlc. I do not care for amiibo and if I want the pin or stickers I can just have them made for like $2-$5. What ever is cheaper.
Which DLC do you mean? There’s the deluxe upgrade standalone ($15) and there’s another that’s DLC for Ena/Navirou for like $25. I would say (if you’re talking about the deluxe) just get the game physical from Amazon or Walmart (the game from those places is like $10 less) then buy the deluxe, making it $65 altogether. You’d be technically paying more for the deluxe edition within the collectors if you split up each individual item’s price if that makes sense, and since you don’t want the amiibo that much, which is tbh the main reason why I got the collectors, then u don’t really need it. TLDR: I’d say go for the physical version (Walmart/Amazon has it cheaper) then buy the DLC (you can take like $3 off the DLC if you use the gold points you get from the game itself)
Slip n' slide is also one of the movies that can save you in a pinch. I used it once when I was out of flash bombs and was about to get wailed on by the monster. Yeah, it knocked down my monstie but it was better than losing my last heart
Vestmore has left :) He went off for family reasons, and then he'll go on to do other stuff. We're all still friends, but he now longer works with us, so that's why we updated everything.
@@ArekkzGaming Oh, sorry to hear that, thanks for the clarification! Send regards to Vest and good luck to him (and allyaboys of course)! Good hunting!
What really irks me about Monster Hunter, is they always assume people have played the dozens of previous editions of the game. I'm pretty new.. and every time I see a new monster, I have no clue how to deal with them, or the whole crafting/forging process.
Coming from a person who not the biggest fan of anime in general. .or most games for the switch... but also coming from a person who only likes pokemon style games if I'm going to play the switch. THIS is the game for you. It's super fun and addicting... and I absolutely love how the dialogue talks to you you don't have to f****** read something I wish Pokemon would catch on to you nobody reads nowadays come on guys. Lol.
just called the store for my copy of the game, apparently the delivery got delayed and will arrive on monday.......my entire weekend is fucking ruined and the best part: cant even do stuff with my friends instead because all of them got the fucking game and are having a blast while i sit in my room alone....fuck my life. so thanks for vids because atleast they kinda scratch the itch
Hey man. That's okay 😉 Everything happens for a reason. Your weekend will surely be a blast. Take some time doing other things. Keepsafe and have a wonderful weekend 😄
Hey Arekkz, been a fan for years and love your videos, but I need to say this: It's really annoying that you're spoiling monsters which you encounter later in the game... Especially when the game just released and the video is targeted toward beginners. Not even a minute in and I already saw Tetsucabra and Barioth which I would have loved to encounter myself without knowing they are there. I know it's my own fault for looking up stuff at RU-vid but still in this case I don't feel like it's necessary to show them to talk about beginners tips. Just my opinion.
@@SinisterSaintsExcellion And you know that 'cause you've informed yourself about it and I haven't. Like I said it's just my opinion and it's fine if yours is different.
@@ysteece5399 didn't really do any research nor watched many trailers, but in the demo you have access to something called the monstiepedia, and it goes to 125, so with that number in mind I pretty much assumed most of the saga roster was gonna be there. Doesn't take 200 IQ, just a little bit of engagement with the content of the game.
People say Navariou or whatever that cat guy is is annoying....like.. this one reviewer guy said he specifically made the story bad? wtf lol, i wouldnt go that far but i mean i get it, reviewers need to get views or whatever, they need to sound edgy & ultra critical , if youa sk me they try too hard lol. The cat guy has the average humour of that one goofball from primary school always trying to make everyone laugh & isnt that bad & deffinitly doesn't even remotely ruin the story. Do they not understand humour or anything? or specifically 'goofball' humour? cuz i think thats what that cat guy is and in an otherwise cringy story. Yeah.. tbh.. the story has made me cringe on ocasions.
