Love blueberry pie. Thanks for recipe. gGood tips. Tip: My wife suggests substituting clear jell for the cornstarch in the same amount as corn starch. Clear jell assures the filling will be clear and not milky looking when the pie cools, as can happen with cornstarch. With clear jell the pie filling also has a smoother, more appealingly uniform texture.

My son and I love blueberries but in our place, it’s a bit difficult to get our hands on fresh blueberries. This recipe really helps as I’m quite hesitant to use frozen blueberries before. I’m worried that it might not be as flavorful as the one made from fresh blueberries. Thank you so much for this video, Aeri.

We had a similar issue... my husband love~~~s blueberry pie...but not only the fresh blueberries are expensive ..espeically if you try to use about 5 cups of blueberries... but also you can get good blueberries in season... so I tried to come up with a blueberry pie using frozen blueberries..and it came out great... you get the same tasty result and can enjoy it all year around.. so please try this recipe someday :) Maybe you can bake it with your son..hehe thanks

It was nice, thank you! Summer went by very fast. My son started his senior year of high school and is now driving himself there. I can't believe it. How was Korea? Did you film and cooking videos with your family??

Wow, it will be a busy year for your son and you... Did he make up his mind what he wants to do after high school? This Korean trip, I just wanted to fully rest and focus on spending time with my family.. so I didn't film any cooking videos over there. I did make kimchi with my mom and wrote down exact amount for everything she does for her kimchi.. (She makes THE BEST kimchi ... in my opinion..hehe).. I want to share her kimchi recipe with you guys someday.. ;) thanks Julia.

My son is going to college after high school but he's not sure what he's going to major in yet. He's excellent at math but doesn't know what he wants to do. Did you cool the cooked blueberry mixer before pouring into bottom crust? How long did you boil the blueberry mixture?

It doesn't have to be completely cooled... whenever your pie crust is ready.. you can pour... It will be thickened in about 5 minutes on medium-high.. every now and then stir the blueberry mixture.. depends on the blueberry.. some can be tangier or sweeter.. if your blueberries are sour, you can skip the lemon juice.. enjoy your pie. :)

Will using frozen strawberries yield to same result? I have a bag of frozen strawberries in fridge not sure what I'm gonna do with it lol

Yes, I already tried it with peach and it was delicious as well.. so try it.. :) Just the sweetness between strawberries and blueberries can be different.. so adjust the sweetness with the sugar for your taste. :)

You did one very big no no. You should NEVER put hot off the stove fruit into a crust. Allow it to come to room temperature.

Thanks for sharing your info... btw can we learn why we can not put the hot blueberries into a crust ?? I'm curious. Because I made this way many times..and there was no problem for it.. and since the filling has corn starch in it.. it becomes thicker later once it is cooled down.. which you do not want to pour then... so please share your reason for it, so I can understand it better.. I think you have a good reason that I don't know.... :)

you did a MAJOR NO NO, you have a ring on your finger,, PLEASE remove ALL rings and other jewelry when cooking, that is the best way to cross-contaminate

You will see that I didn't wear a ring in most of my previous videos... I started to wear a special ring for each video recently... just for the video.. . so please understand that.. for my normal daily cooking, I don't wear a ring.
