yeah. i think hkabib might be right. combat sambo micht be the better allround mechanism for mma than bjj. but still even here in a country full of russians its hard to get good combat sambo trainers if you arent russian. also think about that: dagestan, village of moder ufc gods....there is nothing. no work ( even no illegal since everybody knows everybody), its easy if you have a father/uncle who was in army / spetsnatz / kgb (todays fsb) to fight from the time you can stand on your feet. and i dont mean fights like this rediculous footage that is still used to claim khabibs godmode. meanwhile in the favelas as a boy / young man there are many things you can do. sex, drugs n samba. and of course another kind of fighting. btw there was more than eough time. but dagestani / chechen fighters never occured successfull only trained in combat sambo. dana arrives, and suddenly khabib stormes the promo, and suddenly the "ufc" is filled. at a time....well...lets say, its a weird coincidence. also those guys always were treatened another way than others. compare khabibs actions after his win over connor to f.e. diaz brother or jones. sry, this isnt "a beautiful mind". its sports and dana made a show out of it. even for oliviera, whan he had probs to cut weight. i still think since jones oliviera is one of the most if not the most complete fighter ever. his transitions are far beyond khabibs actions. he reminds me more of a ken shamrock with an arsenal of subs and a brutal striking style, and if royce hadnt shattered his arm ( btw also a bjj fighter, THE bjj fighter who was able to cause such a fracture with one kick frank had to quit after he had no chance against diaz). and what i like too, oliviera didnt play danas beloved games. he never slipped into any role. he just delivered. and beside royce and maybe nate diaz i do not know any fighter who had the ability to sub an opponent out of so many angles, transitions, adjustments. no matter if on his back, out of the guard or stuff. i have bever seen something like oliviera beside alexas grasso transition into a perfect rear naked joke vs a combat sambo pro as a ( usually) pure boxer. also nate and his middle finger triangle and ( not compareable) jones and his atanding guillotine vs machita. if i did miss any (on top tier level ) lemme know. i hope gaethje has enough left in his gas tank since hes gettin older and he remembers how great he was in greco roman wrestling. if he would stop fighting for fun and just goin forward to land one left after the other and train more in sub wrestling combined with those leg kicks. i would like to see him with the kind of belt he wants.

He really used ever aspect of the fighting game in his matches. Good striking, great jujitsu, and a lot of knees to the body. He seems to be dangerous everywhere.

Everyone puts so much into Khabib being undefeated, but Charles has literally cleaned out the the best of the division and defended his belt with finishes every time.
