What a wonderful treat to see a video from you and Dude today. Sending my warmest wishes for a blessed Christmas season to you and your family! Merry Christmas! 🤗♥️🍜
Made it, done! SO GOOD!!! Taking it to my Christmas Dinner at a friend's house for Christmas along with some other Chinese delicacies! Thanks for all your recipes. I will be purchasing your cookbook... Seasons Blessings sent your way. 🥢🥢🥢
Thank you Flo. This was my mother's specialty also. It is more tricky and it takes a lot of patience to fry sticky rice to "cooked" status, compared to a steaming method. I love your talking of mother's way, for we all accumulate a lot of knowledge from our mums. I might use a little less meat so I can chew on the sticky rice more. Ah, it's just a personal thing. I really appreciate that you're using a healthier cooking oil, and NO chicken stock or powder. 👍❤
Hi Flo, I have been a fan of your channel for a long time now, but never wrote any comments. After watching this recipe I have to say that it is one of my most favorite things to eat. I am definitely going to try making it your way soon. Merry Christmas to your family as well. 😊
If I could just live next-door to you, Flo! I really enjoy watching you cook! Everything always looks so good----specially this!! God bless you all and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas flow and dude and family I love your shows I watch them all the time I don't cook them but I sure do drool a lot when you're eating them. I just enjoy watching you and listening to you cook. Can't wait to see you soon we fly soon LOL
Thanks for posting this recipe! I love this version, although I love either version. Chinese stuffing always reminds me of the holidays. My mom used the steam method. She added chestnuts and a little rock sugar to make it even stickier! I'll have to try this version and add roasted or boiled chestnuts at the end. I think if I added the chestnuts along with the other ingredients, they would probably break down while stir frying. I could also try making a syrup with rock sugar and add just a bit at the end to create some additional sweetness and stickiness.
Yes eating lor moi fahn when growing up we always had the steamed version of course. So I'm think I am partial to that very sticky and more hydrated rice
Looks delicious Flo! A very Merry Christmas to you and your entire family. God bless you both in your efforts. Thanks for teaching us these many dishes.
Merry Christmas Flo, Dude and family. My husband absolutely loved your fried rice recipe. This looks fantastic and I will make this for him. Instead of using pork belly, I think I will use ham, his favorite. Thanks for the video!
This is the first time I ever saw anyone cook Law Mie Fan. I didn't know that you cooked it with all of the water from soaking the ingredients. I was told to cook the rice in a pressure cooker with the meats, and then chop it up after its cooked. The rice is always soft and greasy. (My version is called The Lazy Man's way to cook). Your version looks great, I want to try this.
A very Merry Christmas to you and Dude. Have a Blessed Happy New Year. This version of Sticky Rice look very good. I have only had the steamed sticky rice. Thanks Flo.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Flo, Dude and family! Thank you for another great recipe and showing us. This is one of my faves. I think I can make this one too. Blessings always. Best regards from Vallejo, Calif.
I tried making sticky rice once using the steaming method. Cutting the Chinese sausage was a huge pain, and I had trouble sourcing some of the ingredients. The steaming took ages but the result was tasty (eventually). Braising the sausage before cutting was a Eureka moment in your video. The stir fry method seems to be similar to making risotto, and a lot less time consuming than steaming. I will definitely try sticky rice again using your technique. Thank for the inspiration.
Once again a tasty looking dish. Wishing you and your family a Christmas🎅🎄⛪ that you make new memories💜 and treasure 💚the memories💗 from previous Christmas's.⛪🎅🎄

I love Sticky Rice, even though it is the Worst Rice for a Diabetic. Merry Xmas to you and your Family, now go and buy the Dude a few cans of SPAM as a Gift
First time i am seeing this been prepared ,looks time consuming but delicious , if my dad was alive i would have to ask him how come he never prepared this dish , i can just imagine the answer take too long 😂
Merry Christmas, Flo and Dude! I've never heard of this dish and from watching the preparation, it definitely does look like a labor of love to save for a very important meal. The stickiest rice I've ever used is Calrose and don't know if that is just a brand or a basic sushi type. When I was a bride my mother-in-law told me to purchase it because it was the best but didn't tell me it needed to be rinsed. Haha, I'd grown up with MJB converted rice and had no idea why in the world my rice came out a gloopy mess. If you used this recipe as a turkey stuffing would you omit all the stirred in soaking water?
Merry Christmas to and yours, Molly! 🎄💕 Calrose is a type of rice and not glutenous rice. If you’re making this stuffed in a turkey, you would still need to do the initial soak, mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl and stuff the turkey with it; just like regular stuffing. So, that’s right… you won’t need to cook on the stove with the soaking liquids. The juices from the turkey should cook the rice. Enjoy!
Flo. Love the stir fried sticky rice method. These days I need to make my dishes ahead of time. Would you suggest how to make ahead of time 1-3 days ahead and how to reheat. Thank you Flo HCNY 7:31
Is this similar to arborio rice? The cooking method is similar to Italian prepared risotto. It doesn’t seem to be creamy though. Really would make a yummy turkey stuffing! Merry Christmas!
