Im new to BG3 and to DnD as a whole. The way youve done these videos, the information and example gameplay in the background has given me the ability to really grasp whats happening in game. Theres a difference between just giving information and giving understanding if that makes sense. Thank you for these videos!

Cleric is absolutely the most versatile class. You can play as a pure Cleric all the way to 12 and be a powerhouse healer no matter the subclass, or you can mix them with a multi-class build and beef up most other class builds. Tempest Cleric and a Storm Sorcerer build has a truly terrifying damage output as a Thunder God. War Domain and Paladin is a Radiant Smite machine that can decimate almost anything by themselves and heal through it all. Light Domain I found to be best as pure Cleric and play it more as a back line caster. Quick tip. Getting the ring from Volo right away in Act 1 at the Grove is highly advised. It makes any heal you do auto Bless that character as well. Later in the build, once you get Mass Healing Word, you can cast that and bless everyone in the party all at once and its only a bonus action. Open your turn with a big spell or Spirit Guardians then hit Mass Healing Word even if no one needs the heals because it will still Bless everyone, even minions.

Talos Tempest Cleric is my go to. I’m typically a destructive lunatic who could care less about friendly fire. To be hit with a thunder wave is a blessing

Tempest cleric gave me a reason to always carry water barrels and bottles around, as well as keep create water memorized. Giant puddle + call lightning = a lot of extra crispy bad guys. You're basically Thor combined with Emperor Palpatine. And Astarion specced to assassin+ fog cloud = Closest you'll get to recreating a John Carpenter film in DnD.

Barkskin is a normally a Druid spell. It normally makes sense to cast it on yourself before wildshaping because concentration spells carry over so it’s great for Circle of the Moon druids since most wild shapes have less than 16 AC. It’s also great to use on Gale until he has enough magical gear to boost his AC. On a cleric it would be one of those spells that never make the hot bar.

I’m no lore expert, but I love the life domain! Keeps my tactician campaign chugging along.

Have to say, I watchesd the Wizard Deepdive and was really dissapointed that there wasn't a deepdive for every class. And as if by magic, you create and upload the deepdive video I wished for the most after Wizard :) Great Video and a new Subscriber for you. Still wish to see the other deepdive's for all classes though ;)

Bro, I watch many videos because I have no prior experience with DND fifth edition your video on clerks. Has brought a new understanding to me in appreciation of the class. Stoneskin, back in the BG1/BG2 days, was one of the best spells to use. It stopped all physical damage for some number of hits (more hits the higher level you were). It was the first spell every mage cast as soon as they woke up after a long rest, because it lasted for 9 hours. Stoneskin in BG3 is very flawed in comparison. It only reduces the damage, and also costs you your only concentration slot, and every time you get hit there is a chance you lose concentration and then you lose the protection.

More people should run cleric and cleric multiclass. An old adage in table top D&D is : You need the cleric, but the cleric doesn't need you. They are just fun.

Any time you have a free long rest (Restoration pod etc) burn any remaining spell slots to death ward people before you click the restore. Free 1 hp resurrection

I've done one playthrough with Shadowheart as my Life Domain Cleric. It was only after I finished that playthrough that I realised how much I enjoyed her class. My next playthrough is definitely going to be a cleric. I played Paladin in my first playthrough as it's what I play for DnD anyway and it just so happened that my choices fit perfectly with the narrative of the game. My Paladin in both BG3 and DnD is a devout worshiper of Kelemvor. So it fit perfectly with the other 3 "Gods" of death from a choices and role-play aspect. But definitely going Cleric my next playthrough

My personal favorite way to play is Tempest Cleric. Call Lightning at max damage is just SO fun With all the ways to increase spell save DC, I believe I currently have a DC of 24 AND I impose disadvantage for enemy saves

One note about the Disguise Self/Charm Person combo on Trickery Clerics- since Charm Person can make someone angry for being enchanted by you in higher difficulty modes, if you first Disguise Self before you talk to them, then when the Charm wears off, they won't associate it with you and you won't get the penalty of them knowing you Charmed them.

I used divine intervention on a Hireling cleric for the chest of food/potions to see how good it was. Was playing on Tac, and the chest didn’t even provide enough camp supplies for a long rest. I think the total camp supplies number was less than 40. Insane lol I’d expect it to give you 200-300 camp supplies seeing as it’s such a high level one time use spell. Def F tier option for the ability

Cleric is one of my favorite classes, I decided to see how you rated them. I have a Tempest, Light and Knowledge Cleric across my playthroughs. Tempest X/Wizard 1 is amazing especially since you can channel divinity on Lightning Bolt to get some crazy damage. You feel like a wizard wearing heavy armor, and able to use all equipment across your playthrough to buff your build. It feels really thematic being up close in the fight, throwing out shocking grasps as your primary attack. Then my Light Cleric is Ranger 5/Cleric X. I enjoy a dual wielding Dex Ranger in this case. They do insane damage, are sneaky, and can either focus down enemies with their melee weapons or use magic to turn the tides of battle. I take longstrider, increase jump, spike growth and the fourth spell is up to you as long as it isn't on the Cleric spell list. Due to both Cleric and Ranger having the same spellcasting stat, you don't lose out on spell slots with Cleric! Being able to be a skill monkey as a ranger does, combined with having utility spells like Guidance etc is great. You're also in medium armor with a high AC, and with your reaction ability to make an enemy have disadvantage on the attack makes you very avoidant. The channel divinity just makes sense for a melee fighter as well. This class combo is also growing on me due to its lack of reliance on spell slots to do well. And I personally use arcane acuity, which per stack increases spell attack and spell save DC for your spells. With the helmet of arcane acuity that you can get fairly early, you can get stacks in your first turn of combat with melee, and then have extremely accurate offensive spells. It's kinda of nuts. And finally my Knowledge Cleric is Wizard 1/Cleric X as well. This is less offensive by nature, and more of a jack of all trades. I got this build idea from playing multiplayer with people who mostly play only martial classes. This fills a very similar niche to a Lore Bard in a party. Take all of the utility Wizard cantrips and spells (mage hand, minor illusion, and friends since the rest are much easier to get via scrolls). With potent spellcasting from the Knowledge Cleric coming into play, I like to have produce flame and sacred flame available for this. I roll with a Gith, since having their racial ability to gain proficiency in all skills of an ability combined with the channel divinity to stack the effect with another skill, you are quite flexible. You do just fine in combat as well, so long as you know which Wizard spells to pick that don't rely as much on Int to do well (depends on how you do your abilities as well, I try to keep my WIS at 18 and INT at 16 at least). Magic Missle, Inflict Wounds + Spirit Guardians, Glyph of Warding and many other options allow you to be just fine with the base Cleric spellset + Wizard scrolls.

I like the name “panic rolling” because it reminds me of DnD, from soft games, and my party days. I like the channel panic rolling because of the quality content 👌

about the whole respecc to have more divine Intervention, if you dont want to re-do your party: Hire Hirelings, respecc them to Cleric, spawn the chest / weapon, dismiss them, pickpocket Withers to get the money back (he literally does not care, he just ask for money to have a bit more of social interaction cuz he is just a cool dude)

I love stuff like spike and plant growth, mix it with hunger of hadar moonlight etc and you can cruise through may battles just passing turn

1. When you said Level 6 War Cleric, I heard 6 Little War Clerics. I almost spit out my dinner. 2. No, no you aren't dumb, Stone Skin really is that pointless. Once upon a time it didn't have the "non-magical" tag, which meant it was useful as a buff. This was back in like 2nd and 3rd edition, though. They nerfed it into uselessness. 3. Loving the playlist this is in. Been listening to it as I play and eat dinner. I hope you come back to Baldur's Gate 3 soon.

My last game I made Shadowheart a Shadow Monk just to mix things up. I actually have no real healer, Gale does spells and some protection as and Abjuration Wizard, often using his ward to help Shadowheart, I am a Ranger using Ranged attacks, then we have Karlach as a eagle heart Barb...I really should have gone Berserker. Next game I really plan to get even more into different builds, and probably multi-class a lot, Like I think Wyll will be a warlock, Blade bard, and Lae'zel will probably go fighter Paladin, as more a combat general and protector type. These deep dives are great though, because you really need to understand the mechanics of every class, to know just when to muti-class, and know what your trade offs are.

I took the Druid and pole master feat and dipping a little into storm sorcerer for my Tempest Cleric. Shield spell combined with a few gear perks makes me really hard to hit. Combined this with command and I have guys running at me getting bonked and then knocked back again while my squishy friends stay safe. Cleric is a great option if you are playing with some less experienced friends for sure.

On stoneskin its until long rest and not limited to self so if you want the ability you cast it once. It can be cast on yourself or others. If you plan on casting it on yourself you likely planned it and have a high con save to keep it going. Basically its a thing you can cast on someone to try and keep them from taking as much damage particularly if its not yourself. In d and d it normally doesn't stack but the wording is different in baldurs gate so maybe its incredible on allies that already reduce damage like barbarians.

Pretty sure Stoneskin can be cast on friendlies rather than like Blade Ward that only affects the caster. Not that it's a great spell by any means, but that's the difference. Also, I know you love Bless and I kind of too, but after using it for a while, I feel like I may as well wear Hellrider's Pride/Reviving Hands and Whispering Promise on a cleric and cast Mass Healing Words instead to get Bless and Blade Ward on everyone for two turns than to have to concentrate solely on Bless. I'm almost through my fourth playthrough and now I'm tempted to make a Tempest Cleric. I've originally brainstormed an idea to maybe make a melee Guardian Spirit War cleric build but now I want to make a synergistic Tempest/Lightning party with a Storm Sorcery sorcerer.

Thanks for the good content. Was a pleasant listen and I had to Subscribe. BG3 devs did such an amazing job. Honestly the Concentration system could be made better and deepened imo. I get for table top it is an ease of use, keeping things manageable. Yet in Game adaptations of the D&D rules, a lot can be done. They made so many amazing changes already. ​made me think about it and what i could see making it better imo. Concentration spells could have tiers, lesser, mid and full concentration levels. Lesser concentration spells are spells that need some upkeep, but not the casters full focus. Basically Barkskin and similar weaker ones. So they have easier to pass concentration saves. Possibly could even let the mage have 2 to 3 active at a time, yet each one active adds to the concentration save difficulty. Maybe at 3 even require checks if the character takes other full actions. Mid are more powerful spells that have a higher save difficulty yet still allow the caster to act freely and possibly could stack with a single lesser concentration spell as well. Like a sleet storm. While full are powerful spells that have harder checks and may require checks when the character takes actions. Other or additional options is to have some concentration spells become self sustaining after a set number of turns, like these spike and plant terrain spells. Possibly some concentration spells could backfire, go out of control if concentration is interrupted such as for call lightning. Lastly maybe some like barkskin could linger for a set(3) amount of turns after, Lots of options to deepen such a system.

Dude, nice video. First cleric wrap-up I've seen that doesn't discount Trickery out of hand. Trickery is great. It's advanced, though. I usually multi Shadowheart, but I might play her origin run pure cleric, and make the rest of the characters dark/sneaky classes/subdomains. You ever have Gail do sleight of hand? It's funny. And Karlach's inner monologue while sneaking is worth the price of the game. You even got me thinking about using Nature, where I always thought why not just be a druid? I may do that, there's a moon goddess that is patron of the domain. Might be fun. Spiritual Weapon is hot garbage. You and every other RU-vidr have this "underrated" spell way overrated. No movement. No opportunity attack. Waste of a lvl2 slot for one or two hits per battle, except for that really strange occasion when for some reason enemies aggro on it.

Jk Anyways i wanted to say if every RU-vidr could make these kind of detailed build guides it would be less “ most op build” bs you know the ones they have a maxed out character at 12 best gear and rush thru a 10min video of something that takes over 100s hrs to build up.

Stoneskin is a crap spell, one of the worse of the whole game, hands down
