@@HardcoreRC I need something to run with my Maxx as its my only basher and it gets thrashed. My running list is an e-revo 2.0 (I couldnt tell you why, theres just something about that chassis) the MT8 and now this, especially at that price. Puts a lot to shame

This was actually the day when Jack went out in the evening and caught COVID, just took aw hile to edit this one as wanted to try to make it a better edit. Blue is the best color for sure 👍👍

Nice test! Took it like a champ... and at half the price of the competition I'd say it's unbeatable... well, for a Toy grade 😅 Oh.. and how many days to edit this one? Turned out decent...be interesting to see the stats on retention.

Yep this car super impressed both me and Jack, on its handling, speed and durability, for the price it embarrasses the competition. Have also stuck a 16t pinion on and now does 60mph on grass and not even getting warm on the motor or ESC. Editing this one did take a while, over 20 hours, but that also included looking for music, sound effects etc, can spend hours just looking through Epidemic sounds for tracks. The retention will be interesting - i know i wont keep spending this sort of time editing if it doesn't actually make any difference 😂😂

Great video! Those were some incredible sends from Jack given the DR8 isn’t a naturally sendy car. I find its travel struggles with bigger jumps and can chassis slap even with the shock collars wound down. But its good to know the chassis can handle it. Purely for aesthetics I just fitted an Arrma spoiler to my DR8. Drilled a central hole in the spoiler and fixed to the DR8 spare wheel mounting. Then used the 2 pre-drilled spoiler holes to guide 2 additional bolts into the DR8 rear cage beside the wheel mount. Solid. And looks like a Tenacity

Thanks glad you enjoyed the video 😂😂 the car first impressed us at the track and how well it handled, Jack didnt want to stop driving it. The the sends just amazed us. Changed pinion to 16t and it now does 60mph on grass and doesnt get hot at all. Spoiler on the back sounds good, will have to look into that

@@jasonbell4670 ok thanks - the first one we have used a few times, and the second one is my normal ones when doing the wrenching bits, have three that i switch between. Problem is we all use the same source for music being epidemic sounds, takes ages to find good tracks and most of the time they actually suggest tracks to us based on what you have used before and your channel. Glad you liked the video though 👍👍👍👍

Sorry for the lake of videos, this one took a while to edit as trying to improve the videos, also with bad weather, Jack having COVID for a week etc not been getting out to take footage - have two part done but need to film the second parts of them. Once weather improves comes will get back into a more frequent swing

Awesome vid, firm favourite for taking Kevs spot on RU-vid for RCs once he gets into the monster truck, I don’t reckon we will see as much of him on the RC seen then. Hopefully leave a big gap for you to grow a lot more & why not the contents always amazing! FTX will be loving this vid after the Hardcore RC test, it took a hell of a beating at the Sk8 park, rinsed everything at the track just amazing for the money 😎

Great desert buggy. They are an awesome platform even Arrma have jumped aboard 🔥team ... I know to much $$$ but toy soldiers aside they do look they go very well. DR8 is sweet though. 😋

Yeah always loved this style of car, do like the Fireteam as well, but the price is just stupid high in the UK so wont be getting one, will stick with the DR8 that is half the price and just as much fun

Yep it was more than 39ft, i dont think i actually reset the GPS as also only showed 41mph and we know full tilt it would hit 51 - great car and half the price of other brands - crazy

@@HardcoreRC Kimberly also has the wide arm kit on her Raptor, making it 80mm wider o/a. She has listed all the parts for the conversion, available from Conrad Electronics in Austria. I have the kit also but have not fitted it yet to my DR8, I think it cost me about £80 for the longer top & bottom arms, front cvd drive shafts, rear dog bones, rear tie rods & front steering rods. She also fitted Talion wheels.

@@HardcoreRC lol it does look a epic truck, it's just that I has a carnage for my 1st car after my planes and helicopters and it was a bag of nails so that just put me off FTX the plastics broke just by u looking at them lol, u will have to make a 6 month review video of it lol, did u see my a arm fix on my exb 6s I did? I've got one of these and on tarmac no rear ARB gives more grip. Great video to show off how tough they are but I gotta ask, do you buy your own gear or is is given to you? 'cos I'd not do jumps that high with my money! Good to see how tough this model is, did not expect it to standup to those impacts as well as it does 👍🍺🇬🇧.

Thanks, was super impressed with the car. Pretty much everything we do is self funded, we have been sent a few things and will always put the includes paid promotion if we have been sent the item we are doing the video on, but that does not and will not make a difference to our video or review of an item, if we are not allowed to give an honest opinion then we just wont take the free item. Everything you saw in this video was paid for out of our own pocket

That's great to hear - I just worry about the people who can't really afford this stuff, being tempted to copy the moon launches and breaking their models & not being able to do the repairs. The DR8 seems tough and the parts are pretty cheap though, so I guess it's all good 🍺. I'll have to browse some more of your videos now! take care.

Mine rolled and flipped down an embankment today that is about 3 stories high and steeper than 45deg, covered in tree roots.. one of the front springs popped off the cup thing, that’s it! Already replaced the rear suspension arm bracket with a metal one (did both on the back whilst I had the diff off)… it’s so tough!

The DR8 is an awesome car. I recommend it as a better value option to some of the other brands. Might just be my imagination but I ran mine without the spare wheel on the back and I think it really upset the balance of the car as it made the back end too light and bouncy, kicking the back end up over every bump. Glad the bigger channels are giving this car some credit now I've bee shouting about it for longer than Tomley 😉

It certainly make you think why other brands are twice the price 😲😲 took the rear wheel off mainly to reduce the weight and it felt a bit rear heavy, seemed to be jumping really well with good balance with the wheel off. Need to get more into the other brands especially as the bigger brands are just pushing their prices to silly levels

I didn't know it was put back until March so thanks for the info. March will be too late for my birthday but the Corally Sketer is due in time for my birthday 👌😜

@@pipnmaz Yeah Modelsprt had issues on their web, they are trying to find out on the MT8 delevery, CML are the importer so i looked on there which says 30th March. They also import the Corally stuff as well

quick question about your m12 4-1, does the clutch help/work when screwing into plastic, ie on a x-maxx? looking for a high speed screwdriver, already have a ryobi brushed impact driver but you need to pay attention screwing in or you strip threads easy as, for disassembling stuff fast it's great

yes the clutch torque setting does work and does stop over drilling on plastic, however i will be honest and say that i still stop / go slow and finish by hand anyways just to be safe, and i sometime forget to set the clutch 😂

What weight diff oil would you recommend for the centre diff? Will be primarily used on grass large open area, thanks

We have gone with 300,000 CST in the middle, mainly as ours was empty on arrival, but anything from 100,000 cst to 500,000 cst will be good, the higher you go the more it will wheelie, but the less the front tires will balloon.

Its an absolute bargain, we had heard it was good, but it impressed us with how it handled as well as how it bashed. This is one of Jacks favorite cars right now, also put a 16t pinion on and it hits 60mph on grass and doesn't get hot

Forget sending it to the moon that thing is going to Mars. lol Just don't send it to Uranus 😁 That thing is very impressive. Smart move taking the spare tire off. It makes it a bit lighter and when ya have bad landings crashes etc it can snag on things and causes more damage. Glad to see Jack out and about and feeling better. Awesome RC for the price. We did measure and they were slightly different from the Kraton and Typhon, however someone else that ones this car has said they do fit, just waiting to find out which ones, although to be fair the car wasn't really designed to be sent off skate board ramps like this 😂

@@HardcoreRC yeah, its part of why i havent bought an arrma 6s or losi. My most expensive truck if it were rtr and new when i bought it would be my CEN Racing Reeper, its 1/7 scale, about the size of the xmaxx but cost between 650-700 usd depending on which model you get. Its expensive but it does give you a great base to play with, like most rtr's the servo isnt that great, has quicrun 150a esc and 4082 1450kv motor on 6s its been recorded at over 50mph and jumps quite well

Only did it due to how were were going to drive it, it an extreme way, even an Arrma would need to be upgraded to send like that, and the Arrma would have cost a whole lot more to upgrade
