@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 I made up fifty of them already and I have noticed the weight tends to stick in the crimped ends, not to bad but I haven't put them in the water yet so I don't know if this is going to effect the weight not breaking lose from the crimped ends when the fish hits but even if it does I feel the weights a good thing as it should make the unit sit in the water more thus cutting down the effects of the wind. These were very easy to build. I recommend using a 4 inch grinder with a cut wheel besides using a saws all to cut the rebar. The blades are around 15 dollars for 5 blades and it was very difficult to cut the rebar ( made the rebar shake and jerk around, difficult to hold). I gave up on the saws all and grabbed my 4 inch grinder with a cut wheel and it worked fantastic. Hitting the water tomorrow night, can't wait to chase these down...lol I did think of another way to use these, I do a lot of catfishing on the rivers. I fish where the banks are soft dirt and bare raising over 6 feet above the water (Hatchie river, Tennessee) I use 5ft capped 3/4 pipe as limb lines. I have found it difficult to adjust the line to accommodate the spot I set the limb line in order to get to the ledge or deeper holes. By drilling a fifth hole in your design, in the end with four holes, I will be able to connect them to my limb line swivel and use the line adjustment in your design, awesome get line adjustment that's simple and floatation to increase presentation and night time visibility. Awesome design Thanks again for sharing.

@JDHuckster-mf7cg they work, but same happened to mine. You'll have to bank them on the side of boat and ease them in water. I don't like that at all. I like being able to throw them to spread them out a bit

Your idea of crimping the ends is so simple that it is genius! The money and effort to purchase and apply all the endcaps, eyebolts, etc. is what kept me from doing it so far. Was easy to put off. Since I have a high temperature, heat gun, I was able to omit the boiling water. I put it over the heat for a few seconds, then set the pipe on the flat part of a bench vice, smashed it down with a metal bucking bar I have (block of wood or any flat object would suffice). It was done in a few seconds and was a bit easier than the channelocks. Just my spin on it. Thanks again.

Several things I like about this design. The adjustment is pretty smart. Should work perfectly. Not using a cap has a few benefits. Mine are capped on one end and it’ll dump water in your lap if you aren’t careful when picking it out of the water. And I like cheaper. The boiling water is a great idea. Much easier. Looking forward to seeing em fish.

Another benifit having the rebar in it is when the grab it and pull down, the rebar slides down and makes a “thunk” sound and the fish will flinch away from the sound creating a better hook set.

I fish 1 to 5 hooks on mine and fish from 35 ft deep and up usually year round stay in 22-32ft deep . I can adjust for calmer water to rougher water to not trip in bigger waves . Or to add more resistance for hook sets on picky fish . I hate them float around ones that fish drag off I release fish off of them all the time and they trash the lake banks also .

@slabslayer258 sounds like a pretty sweet set up. Shame RU-vid don't allow pictures in comments section. I have it invisioned though. I'd like to rig up some of those to fish a couple lakes with for big flatheads and blues. Thanks for the idea. Id probably only make like 5 up and use Little bit bigger weights and floats. Maybe three noodles together or big floats

What information do I need to put on my trotlines and drop lines to be legal?
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638
Best to look in the book or pull the LDWF pdf up on your phone and read up on it. Different stuff says different. I know it's crazy, but it's not cut and dry. Our law makers should do better to stream line it so it's same info on everything. I put Name, phone number, and license number on my stuff.

How or where do you get your tags?
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638
I ordered some small round aluminum ones off Amazon and then engraved them. Also had stickers made for the limb lines. Some people are also getting dog collar tags made for hoop nets and such or using the yellow cow tags. There is a lot of water proof options
