Would love to have you. I am going to poll all suggestions and get the rules finalized over the next couple days, and then start the qualifying duels. Still contemplating if it's worth waiting for combat rework from season 5 before I start the dueling tho or not.

This sounds like fun. I really wish I was better at dueling. Another fun idea, and one I would do, is mount racing. I’m on Maramma too and would throw my hat into that type of event.
Max 300 con No Life Staff Time limit of 3 minutes per duel. One with the least amount of health at 3 minute timer loses. I wish you great success with this. Wish we could all make use of that arena in Brimstone. Would like to be able to sit and watch these duels…. And make some side bets 😂
I was thinking about eventually having a side betting system for everything, and maybe even duelists can put their whole purse on the line for the duel. 😂 So what, you think people with Max con n life staff will be un-killable? If it went to sudden death with no gear they surely would lose still. And banning life staff makes sense, but with life staff arti aren't there offensive builds with like GS n Flail? Wouldn't that exclude them?
@@NewbWorld I would set it up like this: Life staffs fight life staffs Bows fight bows Sns fight Sns Make it like the best of this weapon duels. The secondary can be any weapon, but when it comes to life staff you have to pair them against each other and see who does more damage to the other. New world has zero “healing sickness”. An extremely good healer will be close to impossible to kill. I mean the best healers. Especially one using ice tomb. That being said a lot of thought can be put into who can use pots vs healers who can’t and things like that, but we want these duels to end within 5 minutes max. I was in a dueling tourney where life staffs were allowed but no pots and pots could be used by others. The matches took like 10 - 20 minutes, but they were allowed to kite all over the place. If you set up boundaries like that little circle maybe we can let healers fight others and let others pot. That little ring will be the saving grace of your tourney if you hold them to that boundary.
I was thinking to let them go around the pillars, but not down the steps, to give range a bit of movement options. It's a fun concept to have everyone only fight their weapon opposite, but it would require a ton of members in the league, unless we forced people who usually main a certain weapon, to fight with say a bow, which would really lower the skill gap. The reason I like any weapon vs. any, was to add strategy, especially in the Title duels. I was worried about people knowing their opponent is a FS user, so go all fire resist, but then, you could have the opponent knowing this could be an option, and have a second gear set ready, and other weapons they're good at ready for the second round of the championship duel, and it makes it more like chess, where you have to outsmart your opponent mentally and skillfully, plus the ultimate duelist will be the one who is the best at the most different kinds of weapons and is able to change tactics quickly.@@nodeflection5827
@@NewbWorld definitely prefer people being able to use what they want. So I agree there. Just have the area “confined” enough to where it’s not a kite fest and you should be fine. Columns and that area seem small enough to work. Definitely keep them off the steps. Also love the idea of people swapping sets and gems and such. If they want to be the best they need to adapt. Very excited to see where this goes for you guys. Maramma duels gonna be popping off.
Thanks m8, yea I am excited too. (: For sure the title fights are going to be the most fun to watch. In my head I am seeing like the #1 contender coming into the match, seeing the champ was firestaff his last 3 fights, so he comes full fire resist, but champ expected that move, so he went spear build, and after catching him out in first round, they both got big decisions to make for the 2nd round. Will for sure add so much mental tactics, and skill level to be champ for a long period of time. @@nodeflection5827
Yea, that would be a great rule, and I would have also liked to limit things like honing stones, to save every one some gold, I just felt like it would be too hard to police this. Sure I can get everyone to send me a pic of their gear before a duel, but not only could they change it without it being noticed, but it would just add so much extra steps into getting a duel to take place. I already foresee it being difficult enough to have the 2 duelists n me online at the same time.
@@NewbWorld have a discord channel and share screens? Also would be very easy telling if someone runs it, 4-5k heals when dodging xP I already don't run it in duels, cheap in my opinion.
Do you feel like shirking heals is still really OP? Since the 8 sec cooldown (or whatever it was), I haven't really tried it out. I feel like in those 8 seconds I could pull off a combo to finish my opponent. I might get the top 10 ranked, and then on like episode 3, reflect on what is dominating the duels, and have some added rules implemented, from what the community thinks would make the duels better. So if the top 5 are all shirking heals, maybe get rid of it.@@Darkzee604
I just feel like that would make anyone without shirking heals at a massive disadvantage, plus one big hitting lucky combo could finish off an opponent in a couple of seconds, making the duels incredibly short, and could mean not the best duelist wins some of the times.
And what is the problem with everyone using shirk heal? There is no such thing as a lucky combo. There are multiple rounds in a match, if catching someone with a combo decides a round so be it, that's the point of combo builds. I agree with no consumables, and it should be an easy rule to apply.
@@NewbWorld I feel like enabling consumables enables heavy sns wh tanks with 300 con to just dominate. With a little bit of mechanical skill its possible to survive each duel 7 mins straight and then go for massive (almost) one-hit combos on the naked duels.
Yea, I just feels like it limits a lot of builds. I know life staff arti has some offensive builds, not sure if it would be fair to exclude them, or anyone that runs heavy.
