The ultimate guide to help you decide which ankle boots will work with what leg styles like your ankle straight legs. I have recently had a hard time trying to figure out a pair that works with all my different leg styles. It’s tough when you have all these straight and loose styles that are ankle length and the shaft opening of the boot is too tall and too wide! They just don’t work unless you roll them up and I am not a fan of that all the time. I am sharing what has made this process easier for me and there may be some things that you haven’t thought about so I hope this is really helpful. Hi Jamie…this video has added the clarity I was looking for when it comes to booties. Low shaft booties are not an option for me this time of time of year because I just can’t deal with cold ankles. My issue with med and high shaft booties is that I have an extremely high instep so need a side zip and if there is anything more than 1” inch heel I just can’t get them on. Enter the front zip…it works on my odd feet for a 6 - 71/2 shaft. Your video helped me realize what I was searching for and everything came together. The front zip is limiting to a casual style from what I am finding so far but that is what I need 99% of the time. Love your style explanations!

Thank you for this very concise and informative video. I need low healed shoes/boots. As you stated, they are hard to find now. I think the Chelsea low healed boot will work perfect for me. I will be able to wear them with my straight leg jeans as well as my boot cut jeans. I was really struggling with knowing what I needed and your video hit the spot.

The struggle is real. I literally just changed like 10 outfits trying to find the right ankle boots. They are one of the most challenging to buy. it's got to be the right heel height, too wide at the ankle or not the right cut etc. the list goes on

oops, might have gotten rid of my combat boots too soon, but they were heavy with lug soles, and I really wasn't comfortable in them (tho I did get a lot of compliments). Sock boots - I get the reason for them, but just not for me. This was really informative though, and I appreciate all the different options we are so lucky to have!

I do live a minimalist life style, very few boots. I put a pair of jeans on, choose a boot… if it works 👍🏻 if not try another pair. I do not change a whole outfit, just the boot. 💙💙 Done. 😃

I changed my boots three times this morning before I settled on the right pair for my pants. Ugh. Your research will help me. Thank you. I also struggle with finding pants that fit my body shape. I’m 5’3”, 120 lbs, hour glass figure, and fit. I weight train two times per week. Besides having to hem every pair of pants I purchase, most don’t fit my hips and waist properly. Do you have any hints to share for proper fitting?

I struggle with this too, I'm 5'5" and weigh 125-130 and have a 10"+ difference between my hip and waist but I am learning... The best fitting denim I've tried has at least some stretch, so old school structured denim like (Agolde brand) doesn't work for me. I also check to see how the pant looks on the model and what her measurements are - along with the hip to waist ratio for the pant located in the size box. So far, the best fitting denim brands for me have been: Good American, NYDJ and Sofia Vergara. Zara pants and trousers have been great lately! I'd love to know that brands have worked for others with a similar shape. It's hard to find influencers that are true hourglass - most are rectangle. Hope this helps.

I saw that a lot when I worked retail and pants are really made for a rectangle shape it seems. You should look for curvy fits even though you are small. Also, if you don't already have one, find a good tailor because you could have the waist taken in if it fits in the hips.

The white ankle boots are a Sam Edelman Elita Perforated Ankle Boot and I got them a few years ago and the only place you will probably find them is somewhere like Poshmark or ebay.

Ruth here, how many shoes/boots do you have, that is crazy. I have 1 pair of boots, l black pair of dress shoes, and a pair of tennis shoes, that's all l need. My issue is, low heel shoes dig into that bone in ankle, l don't know the name of the bone, it sticks out a little on the side, it's kinda round, so l am limited on what l can wear so l am thankful it the shoes are pretty comfortable

I think those ankle jeans make everyone’s legs look short. Not a good look for most. The jeans that you are wearing in the narration are much more becoming. I get what you are saying about each height but I don’t think I will be buying the jeans. I’m tall and work hard to get jeans to be the right length anyway. I have a 34” inseam.

They are a little shorter but work well with certain shoes. I actually don't think of all ankle boots as dressy. I wear my casual ankle boots with them and I agree that you can't really dress up those light wash jeans.
