I have a love/hate relationship with this channel. I love the videos, Mike's personality and presentation, and especially the food. I hate that i can't have whatever he's eating in front of me to shove in my own face right now! lol.
Never been happier to live in Dallas with Mikey here! I can actually go to these places not just dream about it. Thanks for trying it all out and giving us Dallas folks that perfect list of where to go :)
The chef at ramen Izakaya akira is literally the nicest man in the world. We said absolutely nothing but he felt so bad that we had waited so long to eat his ramen that he gave it to us for free. We left a nice tip and then came back the next day and paid and gave a nice tip again. Truly truly amazing ramen.
More than 30 years ago, my husband and I visited his mother in Dallas, TX, I hardly see Asian markets and restaurants there. So happy to see the change.
Got ramen, beef noodle soups, banh mi, freshly made noodles with shrimps, Cava, KF Tea, mooching donuts, Chinese waffles for lunch & dinner today for the whole family from food halls...Mikey inspired me...👍🧋🍗 🍜
Your channel has made me way more into exploring food and spots I would've never found before. I have a favorite new pho spot and it's a literal hole in the wall place with terrible parking and cash only, but I go there now because it's so darn good. Best ever had. 😊
Welcome to Dallas!!! Glad to have you here. I worked at Ichigoh in Deep Ellum and can definitely say that the owners really appreciate you trying them out. Next time you go, get the Niboshi Shoyu with a side of karami paste. That was my favorite to have for lunch.
Love your videos! So happy to see some of our favorite places and new places we've never seen! Our fav sushi place is Kura, and inside Mitsuwa Sutadonya has a pork bowl that is to die for. It's been a few years but Kazy's had a delicious curry bowl for $2.50 that was unbeatable.
I live in dallas and love the impact this video has had on these businesses! But I wanted to comment mainly because this video influenced us to try Bokksu, with his code, and omgggg! It was such a fun thing to get for yourself, and it’s now all I want to gift others. So yummy. Must try.
Never been this early. Perfect timing too. Just enjoying watching my fav RU-vidr while I’m eating a basic Maruchan imagining it’s the ramen 🍜 Mikey is eating 😭😅
Lived in Dallas most of my life and I can genuinely say that we have such a diverse asian community and it definitely reflects. I hope he goes to some smaller places!!!!
So excited that you tried Wabi House, Ichigoh and Nori! At Wabi house try the karage and Tsukemen! Ichigoh also has great appetizers- loved the pork buns and ribs!
Oh my gosh... living near that H-mart and seeing you walk through it is so exciting! Also I’ve had my eye on that last Ramen place in Lewisville for quite a while. This video has convinced me to go!
Hey I love your videos and all that you do! Since you are in Dallas I would HIGHLY recommend you give TEN ramen a try. I think you will love the atmosphere and all of the ramen is divine! If you go, try the mazemen ramen.
The only tour guide I need when finally coming to the US is Mike and his videos! My list of restaurants I need to visit will be so much bigger than the time I actually have in the states 😂
Mike -- LOVE the food tours of ... everywhere. I had a good laugh over the name of your Japanese snack box sponsor, Bokksu. Bokksu sounds a lot like the Korean word "Bogsu" -- which means "revenge." Never thought of a box full of treats as revenge -- but now I won't be able to forget it!!
some of y’all really gotta stop “shipping” him w whoever he’s filming with because first of all ~shipping~ real people is weird and creepy because they’re actual humans with actual lives, also, you can be friends w someone from another gender without it automatically being romantic. And I think he’s made it clear that 1) his personal/dating life is his own business and he can story time it with us when he feels comfortable to and not when we try to pressure or pry it out of him, 2) some people he eats with feel uncomfortable being filmed and he respects that so therefore when he’s filming with someone who doesn’t mind , we should still respect their boundaries even if they agree to be on camera or not , and 3) food is the main love of his life :)
Sending all of these Dallas/FW videos to my relatives in Arlington so when I go visit, we try as many places as we can!! I still have 2 packets left of your hot pot soup base that I need them to try too. They are amazing soup bases. I still need to try your chili oil!
Me: I can watch this. It’s ok I just ate. *Mikey makes the food look irresistible with the way he eats and describes the food* Me: I’m starving but I can’t have that exact food he’s eating 😭💔
I've now set a rule in our house that we can't watch Mikey Chen before dinner - otherwise, we abandon cooking dinner and order ramen, hot pot, pho, or dumplings. Tonight, we failed and ordered ramen
Straight up truth. Never thought about Dallas, like thinking about jerk or dumplings.... Dallas has wtf... Google says 8 hour drive... 10 days fully vax. Thanks Mikey.
Nori handroll is the best sushi so far I've ever had in Dallas. A MUST try and will come back. Thanks for sharing ramen spots. I definitely try next time in Dallas.
Omg I love Wabi House! Next time you come to Dallas try Niwa on Main Street! It has amazing Japanese BBQ! Also maybe swing by Carrolton it has a bunch of Korean BBQ and Ramen places!
You’re right about Korean bbq in Carrollton. We went to Gen Korean bbq for my sisters birthday and it was TOO GOOD! (Kinda expensive for me but worth it)
You should do a Middle Eastern tour of Richardson!!!!! Btw as an Italian Dallasite I can definitely show you where to go for the best pizza in the city and yes we do have good places!
Welcome to Dallas Mikey. So excited to see your videos eating Texas food... would love to see you making videos on Indian food too , there are so many Indian restaurants in Dallas.. 😀
Never been this early. I'm sittin here at almost 4am in Manila and I only get to eat a ham&cheese sandwich+ chips while you're basically enjoying every single ramen possible out there.
@@TheMasterhomaster that’s incorrect! in fact, i believe he would unlock flavors he never even knew were there . mikey definitely needs to experience edibles of some sort
@@strictlydumpling must try Sprouts Spring Roll and Pho in Arlington! Their fried rice is INSANE and their pho is great! They have a pho challenge, I DARE you to do it!
I’ve been watching your videos for years and always hope you would visit Dallas, now your a Texan! Super stoked and hoping I get a chance to bump into you Mike!
This is an AWESOME channel! I'd love to meet up with you at an HMart to find the best stuff to put into a Hot Pot. I lived in Korea for a year back in the late 90's and fell in love with the food. I've had such a hard time finding authentic asian recipes. We're in McKinney. Great videos!
Glad to have you here in the Dallas area. FYI, for dessert you can’t beat a Japanese style crepe at “Crepes 4 U”in Plano. (It’s inside the building with the Jusgo Supermarket.) It’s an experience just meeting the owner, Paul. He and his crepes have a huge following.
@@jessicasusie Brenda worked for the media company that partnered with Mikey on some projects. She was on his team and worked with him. The business relationship with the media company ended, and he subsequently moved to Seattle. He mentioned in one of his videos that he would likely work again with his ex team members like Brenda on future projects. Man I watch way too many of Mikey’s videos. It’s the Strictly Dumpling cinematic universe lol.
I can't believe you went to 2 of my fave ramen places. I always thought Ichigoh was the best spot in town. I feel my taste buds are vindicated LOL. Now if you go check out Sushi Sake in Richardson, you will make my year. :)
After you posted this video, I went to check out Ramen Izakaya Akira! Best ramen I've ever had! So glad you moved here so you can recommend these places for me to try!
Thank you, Mike. I was debating whether to have ramen or to make pasta for dinner. Decision made! I recently discovered a little ramen place near me (🇨🇦) and I’m obsessed. Edit: the shop was closed 😢 Another night.
