In Oxygen Not Included you’ll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Just make sure you don't forget to breathe.
Build Extensive Bases and Discover What it Takes to Survive:
Everything in your space colony is under your control, from excavation and resource allocation right down to plumbing and power systems. Resources will begin depleting with your first breath, however, so be sure to dig fast if you want to live.
It’s Mind Over Matter with Stress Simulations:
Keep the psychological impact of survival at bay with fun leisure activities, great accommodations and even better food for your colony. Duplicants each have different and potentially destructive ways of reacting to stress, so be sure to always keep them happy. Whatever the cost.
Avoid Boiling with Thermodynamics:
Temperature control is a constant concern in space; too cold and you'll freeze, too hot and you'll fry. Keep tabs on ambient environmental temperatures and your colony's heat production to maintain a nice, cozy atmosphere for your colonists.
Enhance Efficiency through Complex Gas and Liquid Simulations:
Create interlocking pipe systems to swiftly deliver fuel and liquid to critical areas of your base. Plan well and be rewarded as your colony transforms into an imperishable, well-oiled machine.
Take Charge with Power Grid Simulations:
Choose from a multitude of power sources including coal, hydrogen, natural gas or just plain old elbow grease. Manage power runoff, circuit overloads and meltdowns to keep your colony running smoothly.
Always Keep Yourself Breathing:
Enter the Oxygen Overlay and watch air moving through your base in real-time. Monitor carbon dioxide accumulation and oversee oxygen generation processes to mold your colony into a veritable deep-space oasis.
Waste Nothing through Extreme Recycling:
Make use of every last resource for a base that truly exemplifies efficiency. Recycle waste into precious fuel, process unbreathable gas into air, or harness the natural bodily processes of wild creatures for food. If you’re clever, you might even be able to run a base off colonist farts.
Explore Diverse, Procedurally Generated New Worlds:
Summon new worlds with a push of a button. Experience tons of untamed space rocks, then suffocate to death in them!
-------------------
Spaced Out DLC:
The Duplicants are back again, and this time they're ready to rebuild their colonies from the mysterious remains of a planet torn asunder!
In Oxygen Not Included: Spaced Out! you'll spearhead space missions to new and undiscovered Planetoids, transport resources between bases, and manage multiple worlds on the fly to build a megacolony that not only survives but hopefully, thrives.
New Multi-World Gameplay
Put your colony management skills to the test by juggling the needs of Duplicants in multiple colonies simultaneously. Switch between planets in real-time and secure rare resources on other worlds to supply your home base.
Expanded Rocketry
Customize new modular rockets to your liking, then explore the expanse of space with the newly overhauled Starmap. Huge expansions to the Research Tree provide new mid-game Rocketry options, giving your Duplicants an edge in the asteroid space-race.
New Critters
Get acquainted with some new fuzzy friends - if you're nice, they might help you out around the colony!

Maybe small suggestion: You could build small room with sweeper, conveyor loader and sweepy robot between kitchen and mess hall and leave door to mess hall opened. Robot would go trough opened doors, sweep up any food leftovers on the floor and take them to its base. Then sweeper would take them, insert into loader and sent them back to deep frozen storage. (Room needs to be divided from mess hall as sweeper and loader are considered industrial machinery.)
@Nathans-Sandbox

GG. The dupes can build the chute diagonally but they have to be 2 tiles away. If they are right next to it, they won't build. Place a ladder for them to stand on, which you can remove after.

For the vacuum seal in the storage tile: when using a blob of water, it will always move to an available tile. If there are any gases occupying a tile, the water will seek out a vacuum. If no vacuum available, it'll get deleted, if it's mass is lower than the gas. My preferred method of making this storage is to force a small ammount of CO2, less than 500g, and when the bleach stone gets in there, it'll overwrite it with chlorine. Might take some time, as the CO2 needs to be "eaten" first, depends a bit on how much CO2 is in the tile (less than 500g takes, at max, 2 cycles to replace it with chlorine). And yes, I use chlorine cause it's the only gas that effectively removes germs without going too far below deep freeze temperatures. Hydrogen can go a lot lower, killing germs with extremely cold temps, ofc, though I feel chlorine is a quicker solution. Edit: had the vid paused 2sec before trying the bleach stone. Guess I now have a new way of getting this done, thanks @Nathan 😍. A whole lot simpler than my current method

another way, without having to rely on dupes using the loader, would have been to install a bleachstone wallpaper behind the chute then deconstructed it through the corner, dropping 5kg of bleachstone inside
@salemprompthous3820
@salemprompthous3820 2 года назад
@@Jiimy8me would require the use of the wallpaper mod, though. Personally, I don't use it. But for those who do, it's a great point, as it would be exactly 5kg of bleach, where the loader can take 1000kg, and the rails hold 20kg per tile. When something happens elsewhere, the loaders can be neglected, and then have all the bleach stone on the map in one single spot. Can take a while getting it all out again 😅

There needs to be a "room" for the three types of kitchens. Each should give a good bonus to the chef, who can't get the same exposure as the rest of the dupes, as well as extending food life or calories or bonus buffs to the prepped food. Cooked food is already germ free... If it has germs, it got them from a dirty dupe touching the food. (The cook should be the only one allowed to touch cooked food. It's stupid that it drops on the floor instead of being elevated on a side-table. (The musher doesn't cook food. It creates germs on most food. Not something you want in an actual kitchen. It's a tool, like a sausage grinder, not a stove.)

You could also start deep freezing your storage, water would solidify into ice and sweeper would be able to remove it. BTW i wonder if chlorine will be able to freeze your food quickly enough as it has terrible temperature exchange stats. For me, i prefer to build tile under food from aluminium and cool that tile.

Long-term food storage is an excellent place to use an Air Conditioner (and a hydrogen loop). Also, if you put the storage _under_ the griller you can fit everything into range of one autosweeper (may need to make stoarge 2-cells deep, though).

Nathan, as for the nature reserve, pips plant from right to left and from top to bottom - you need to remove all plants and put ladders above them, except the one at the very right. Once the pip has planet there, remove the next ladder closest to its left and continue, one step at a time.

Had the same struggle getting the O2 out of my deep freezer. Tried every angle of approach, just couldn't build the chute diagonally. Finally did it the same way - tiny liquid lock. Working very nicely now.
@JulieanGalak
@JulieanGalak 2 года назад
Though I did my cooling a different way - used a gas cooling loop with H2, using a thermo regulator. Brought it to deep freeze nearly instantly, but it generates so little heat, that 30-40 cycles later the water (a tiny 3x2 tank) around the regulator is only at like 30C, nowhere near enough to bring up the dedicated steam turbine. And the regulator only clicks on very occasionally for a few moments (probably when new food is dumped in). Very efficient system, I think.
@Nathans-Sandbox

Yeah it will take long to make steam by cooling your food;)

With the food changes, I know people are adding a cooling loop to the chlorine and even a metal tile beneath the food for extra heat capacity. That way you can achieve Deep Freeze with the cooking ingredients more easily and make them not spoil.

I think I preferred my old kitchen design on the old vanilla version, it is even more relevant now with Spaced Out if you're making berry sludge and mixed berry pie. My kitchen had mechatronics delivery directly from wild farm/no harvest area. It was completely CO2 and chilled to -20C from my wheeze wort cooling loop (kept directly below my drecko ranches and fed phosphorite completely by mechatronics), outside the main base area and the chefs use atmo suits (to help get the achievement) .I was making frost burgers then, but it turns out those really are much more labor intensive than pepper bread because of needing 3 total cooking stages. Anyway, 1 layer for 2 mushers, 2nd for 2 grills, 3rd for the 2 gas ranges, tile in between 3rd up hold food accessible by sweepers, cooked food gets conveyor'd to next stage cooking or permanent storage right next to the great halls. It's a really powerful format with so much automation, but now instead of a chlorine tile you'd need a vacuum tile on top of a mesh tile and make sure all food is pre-chilled to deep-freeze, and make sure accidental pee can never reach or break the liquid lock. Also keep a gas minipump in there just in case, so 3 tiles high (2 for pump, 1 for conveyor chute), and to be extra extra sure a liquid minipump below the mesh tile. ALSO remember to have space directly above cooking stations for the duplicant motion sensor and ceiling light.

The concept is great but you will probably want your food sitting on a tile that helps it exchange heat much more efficiently, currently sitting on ceramic it only has the low conductivity of chlorine which probably won’t be able to keep up with the temperature of the cooked food
@ahmataevo
@ahmataevo 2 года назад
It would be better to chill the food to -20C and then send it to a vacuum room/tile sitting on a mesh tile. That way it cannot exchange heat, ever.

@@Nathans-Sandbox The oven can't be loaded directly from the deep freeze chlorine box is what I meant. Looking over it, your way works, but it'll looks like the system will clog if you get too much excess ingredients. So depending on what you plan feed the dupes, you might end up filing that right hand fridge with too much of one ingredients (I forget what you feed them, but as far as I know all top tier foods need two ingredients) unless you are very, very good at balancing crop yields. Allowing the sweeper to load the cooking stations from your chlorine box directly prevents that issue. Of course if you are just feeding them stuff that can be made with only a single ingredient, it'll work perfectly.

Also hearing your insane gasp of relief when the bleachstone removed the water was VERY relatable.
