The quality on this vid is top notch, especially considering how small your channel is, great vid can’t wait to see your channel grow keep up the great work 👍🏽
Okay let me just preface this by saying you are possibly on of the most interesting fish keepers to watch due to your incredible video quality and editing skills. I hardly ever subscribe to things but I subscribed to you man. Keep it up, love the aesthetics of your videos and its a great tank, just bought it myself for my guppy fry to hang out in!
I have had 2 Marineland Portrait tanks for 2 years, and even have a very old modified System 2 Hood. This is a super review on this tank! One can actually put 5 small fish in this tank since the max. on the adjustable filter is up to 85 GPH, which is a lot more than the previous System 3 or 5 Gallon Marineland Hex, (the old ones actually used Z also, and were built to be more like a septic tank). There are future problems, and unlike Old Eclipse parts, Marineland does NOT stock any replacement parts. No more than 5 fish since the Cube design does not have enough surface area, as a rectangular shape does, allowing more oxygen on the surface. Still, the Marineland Portrait 5 Gallon is overall a fantastic aquarium for the money.
I’ve been wanting to have fish as a pet but also figuring out what fish tank to get, your videos are the best and they actually help me to pick out some nice tanks
i just got my first white platinum HM betta yesterday , and i found your channel … now i’m here marathon-ing your videos . great videos , man ! ✊🏼 cheers from Philippines 🇵🇭
This video is so great and helpful. I’m planning on getting one of these tanks to set up in my college dorm next month, thank you for the recommendation.
Thanks for this fantastic review and guide. It definitely helped me to choose this tank for my little guy. I love it and your hacks have worked out really well too. Highly recommend your videos on the tank for a betta!
you might wanna consider adding botanical then open the lid add a cattapa extract or boil talisay leaves... there are also concentrated cattapa extract available with turmeric which is good for your betta fish immune system
My favorite fancy 5 gallon for sure! The Aqueon Planted Clip On Light is a great replacement for the light it comes with if you want to grow more than anubias, java fern, etc. The light it comes with works fine if you're just growing low light plants, but with the replacement light I'm growing high light plants successfully.
I have the same exact tank but I removed he back cover and use a sponge filter as well as a finnex stingray light that clamped perfectly on the back. I ditched the plastic top and I’m currently looking for an option to replace it
@@Pharmaquatics iono about that.. the back cover hides the heater* & filtration system. Seeing these things in the tank takes away from the aesthetics. I'd keep it in there lol
Thank you for your video, it’s very informative! I am about to get the Portrait tank tomorrow and excited to transfer my betta into his new home. I am ordering everything you mentioned, and I am wondering what temperature do you set your thermometer at? I am going to order the same thermometer.
I set it to at around 78 degrees! I would recommend you just play with the dial for a bit until you see the tank itself stay at a constant 78-80 degrees. Enjoy your tank!
Great video..thank you so much for explaination.. I just got one .my first aquarium..not sure how to clean the tank and how often have to clean .. what ciphon to buy..
@@Pharmaquatics would be great to do a comparison video if you can, as you have both. They seem to be the top 2 choices. Also, what do you think of the smaller ones 3gal? Great videos!
With the ceramic media bag, do you take it out and clean it? Or would that destroy all the bacteria. Would I just take out the floss and replace that? Leaving everything else
I'm looking into this tank as a beginner and was wondering if I could just use sponges in the back instead of the ceramic rings? I want to use a combo of filter floss and sponge. Thanks for all the advice!
I literally just gutted the filtration system with a razor blade, the design of it is so flawed and I’ve lost so many guppy fry and shrimp in the back of that thing. It’s held by silicone so a razor blade will too. I used a more than capable hang on the back filter and a LED lamp and it looks ten folds better than what came in the box.
great video idea, i will definitely do that! in the mean time here's some tips: 30% water change every 2 weeks, gravel vacuum once every 1-3 weeks depending on how much you feed your fish, scrub algae off the walls as needed and that's about it!
