- Zero shoryuken does not have invincibility - The L dive kick does not serve as a fake but to interrupt the vertical momentum of a jump (instant OH) - The technique Jago's referring to as "buster switching" is actually known as "charge switching" - Those combos will not work against some characters if done as it is showed in this video, the lightning will not connect - Assist: hidden missiles is missing (combo extension like jam session) - Negatives: can't combo after throws w/o assist
Thanks for doing a Zero guide! Too many people show off lightning loops and don't explain the other things about him. I also noticed you tried the Zero May Cry team, noice! XD
as a S-class zero player... you did a very good job on your review. The only thing I really think you should have mentioned is the fact ZERO can't DHC into Songumu if you are using shadow clone assists. it is the key to not getting scrubbed out with your other 2 characters because you can make dumb moves safe.
tiger knee motion is an old school SF2 motion where you do the uppercut motion f,d,df then slide ur joystick all the way to uf, u or ub (depending on ur position) so that the special move connects very early in the air. You can also tiger knee fireball motions as well
Yeah a few of the things he says in this video made me chuckle because its just wrong, but overall I think the video is solid for the most part, especially for 2012 standards.
You are right sir. My bad :) I was just trying to say that in Marvel you can u can use the tiger knee technique for both uppercut or fireball motions. As long as the move can be done in the air.
lol at your knowledge of the game: bold cancel and mag's rom work as intended and quicksilver is relatively easy to pull off if you know how. BTW good job in getting as far as possible from the point of the discussion and for not understanding my example. Easy recap per simple minds: Zero is a character that can't combo after throws, the fact that in 1% of the cases he menages to do so anyway doesn't mean that one should not include that flaws in a list of negative features of the char.
It's easy to see the difference between: 1.) Zero probably has a hard time continuing a combo by himself after an air throw vs. 2.) can't combo after airthrows w/o assist
Lots of people play "Zero may cry", but I think a better teammate for Vergil and Dante is Dormammu. You can play Vergil-Dormammu-Dante, and just zone people out with Purification and Jam Session while you give Virgil a rest.
Tbh, it's difficult to compile lots of useful information on Zero in a 12 minute video. There's definitely some missing stuff in this guide, and it assumes the audience hasn't at least played Zero yet in training mode. Also, one useful tip with the lightning loop Jago forgot to mention: if you pop someone up higher than usual with level 3 buster AFTER you've inputted Sougenmu, it will make performing the loop impossible since it'll make your opponent drop out of it.
"It only works against smaller characters" -> there are combos that work only against sentinel, people know them. "It doesn't work at superjump high" -> see: Iron fist air throws "Good luck relying on it" -> good luck not attempting it since missing the divekick still makes it safe anyway. " the L dive kick is for instant overheads" -> it's not instant, it's fast, but not instant.
The way I do it I press forward, roll the stick clockwise (If I'm on the right) until its at the downforward position then press L. Rolling it up gets Zero to jump and the forward at the beginning plus the down, downforward at the end will give a very low air Raikosen.
I love yipes, such a top bloke. There are a lot of players I like for their style, Marlin pies another guy I enjoy watching. C Viper and Ammy are fun to watch.
Zero Shoryuken does have invincibility (albeit crossover counter)...just not as much as others like Ryu. X factor 3 zero can combo off ground grabs AND air grabs. Check it out and let me know what you think: X factor Level 3 grab combos: /watch?v=FwJ8bRtCW9I Zero Shoryuken cross over counter combo: /watch?v=efTKXnMUhwA
Dont forget for negatives that after doing a throw you lose your charge :( Can you explain to me tiger knee? I have trouble doing lightning loops but Im pretty good with zero's mobility
Why doesn't anyone realize Zero's Akuma asist should be demon flip...? its an OVERHEAD if u cancel cr.m into twins and u called the the demon flip out, the block stun will have him still low blocking so u instantly hit cr.m again when the special animation is done and u will sweep his feet or demon flip will confirm all the time. Stand A is 5 frames, not 4. But after that, I was too busy hitting my head against the desk listening to Jago try to pronounce the move names: Hadangeki = "Honda Key", Sogenmu = "Soy-gen-mew", Sentsuizan = "I don't know how to pronounce this". Maybe someone who actually plays Zero should do a guide or something.
So I know I’m posting this years later after both the video has been posted and the game has dropped off, but I’ve been playing Marvel 3 on PS4. I’ve been going through the arcade mode on very hard and ranked matches. I don’t understand how to properly move with Zero though. I like the character (especially his Tatsunoko variant) but here I just don’t understand him. His movement seems hella slow, keeping his charge held is tricky on pad, and he’s just overall not that fun to play IMO.
He definitely missed out on one of the most devastating things about zero and that's his Pizza Cutter, jH. Overhead, fast, large hit box. He showed the instant overhead though, but just missed the explanation
The invincibility during the crossover counter is gained because it's a crossover counter (duh). Zero's srk DOES NOT have any kind of invincibility by its own. What a character can do in XFactor is a totally different topic and BTW Zero is a point char, XFactor 3 Zero is something that should never happen. I dunno why I'm replaying considering you just wanted to spam your links lol
I guess you could say another downside is he is quite hard to use? well imo. at least takes some time to get used to with the timing of canceling his buster into lightning constantly, I use controller so of course it's pain lol. but still been practicing with him but ofc training can only take you so far and online is just, let's all admit.. terrible with netcode and even people's connections lol
i`ve watched many of your UMVC 3 guides and they helped me a lot (Now i`m the to bacome a beast with Nemesis), and i wonder y you can make a Dante Guide, cause i`m trying to digure combos and mechanics, but isn´t working very Weel.
Gotta give him credit on his presentation and the amount of info covered. It's not like these people are getting paid. Why don't you contribute and make a more direct video then?
I can't give you a definite answer and I doubt he can. He's trying to use his zero, dante, vergil team but he kinda failed at the last tourney so Idk if he'll be ready by evo.
Yes it get simpler: you're wrong, I'm right. Try to level up and understand this: Zero is a character that can't combo after throws BY DESIGN, that ridiculous gimmik to get a combo only after a specific throw, only in a specific position and only against a handful of characters doesn't mean anything. Your statement is as stupid as saying that Dorm can self-relaunch only because Joe bounces on flamecarpet in the corner.
Dante and Nova: by design shouldn't be able to get ridiculous amount of groundbounces Spencer: shouldn't be able to do so much damage with unscaled vert graps. anti-phoenix techs everywhere, mag roms, joe bombs, etc. by design, shouldn't work, but they do. Dhc glitches shouldn't work by design, but they do. Quicksilver shouldn't exist in mvc, and it's retardedly difficult to pull off, but someone has. Your statement is as stupid as saying that dante's combos are hard, no 1 should bold cancel.
