bro, it’s not a lack of risk management it’s not a lack of psychology. It’s a lack of a profitable system with edge. I know you do a paid service but is there any way you can do a video on a simple strategy that you may not use that has been profitable for you in the past that us, your viewers can go in back test and then apply risk and psychology

Pure gold. Thank you, Bernd. I'm not sure if my thoughts have any value since you are a pro, and I'm just an amateur. But I see that a fix R has advantages and disadvantages not mentioned in your video. One advantage is the following: when your equity is growing up, your risk per trade is decreasing. One disadvantage is that when your equity is decreasing, your risk per trade is increasing because your balance is less than the initial deposit, but your R is fixed. The other disadvantage is that when you are increasing your account, the ROI is less than the fixed percetage ROI. The advantages I see in the fixed percentage rule are that you can earn more money when you are winning, and when you are losing, you are decreasing your risk per trade. The fixed percentage has the ability to adapt to both scenarios, winning and losing. Thank you for reading.

Once again in a single video you have shown me a couple of key things which totally flipped my thinking so thank you ! I have been counting pips for the last few years ( which i see was my big peoblem) and also i never really really thought about it but yes your right. Everyone's situation in life is different. I need to trade to my current financial situation at the moment and not try and trade like other youtubers. Bernd the risk management advice was amazing. I am going to take that approach of risking a set $$ amount related to my current situation and that will help me to stop looking at the charts all day and night. Thank you so much for your advice.

Thank you for this, I've been thinking in Rs since I heard from you! It really helps with emotions since it shifts the focus from the amount I risk... little detail I thought it can be extended to % risk? Can't find the PDF and the site of the guy doesn't have it anymore (RIP). I get the rationale behind the fixed amount now tho, great explanation 🤓🙏 ps. can't drop a bomb like "there are better places to keep your money" and then move on like that 😅

Yeah as you see $R makes way more logical sense in a margin account using leverage. For me only in a prop trading account %R makes sense but even there traders could (and maybe should) apply $R

You're just going with the herd, and we all know the herd if filthy rich. Bet it all on red, your risk of $100 will be $200 in under 5 minutes. No trading fees.

Hi Bernd .. Students interviewed were very interesting and refreshing... I like how u have provided thier personal contact details....I only wish u we're around in 2016 ... I'm looking to take this course in September so is it worth having a phone now or then ? I'm self employed and run 3 businesses and my time is absolutely critical...plus I'm starting my art career over 3 days per week too , I'd prefer long term set and forget traders and less involvement the better .. I noticed that News does not concern you which is quite interesting. Surely you would wait for the news to surpass before you went to the trade? In addition, I understand that you trade daily and the four hour for the swing Trader . so for execution purpose do you enter on the 60 minutes using limit orders ? Also, I personally can only trade London market Is it still possible as I will miss opportunities in the US session?

Sir can you please suggest me any prop for 5k or 10k challenges? I am very afraid of prop firm cause I afraid to lose my fee amount of money. I practice myself to use ftmo free challenges and now I have much better confidence and your motivation and honestly is my power.

Just use your own money and risk 10% its the same. Prop firms are pointless if you did the math.

Prop firms are not pointless at all coming from someone who is ftmo all time record holder, managing now $4M in prop firm capital…use ftmo if you are already using their demo…I don’t recommend prop firms, since I am not affiliated with any of them.

If risk reward ratio system is the best for trading, where do people need these 50k funded accounts with these different drawdown rules and time rules when you can simply fund your own account with 2000$ and risk 150$ per trade so you can at least lose 10 trades comissions included. Am I missing something here? Of course 50k account costs you only 200$ vs you lose that 2000$ but it is so much freedom with that own money than funded money. Also like you can’t really risk more than 1% of your total account balance with these prop firms because drawdown limit will most likely hit if you lose 10 trades and even earlier if prom firm uses trailing drawdown limit.

And maybe eventually that 2000$ will come cheaper than this prop firm stuff because if you are not really good trader when you try to pass these prop firm challenges again and again lol. If you want to train then do demo only it is that simple. Ps 50k account drawdown limit is often 2500$ between prom firms so risking 200$ is pretty much reasonable if you include comissions so after all you can lose that same 10 trades.

you answered your own question. Simple: if you have your own account with 2k…you will wipe out your 2k. This is what happens in the real world. Prop trading you lose the 150usd, that’s it.

I'm struggling to see the difference tbh. Are we talking about always risking 1% even as your account grows? Because risking the same $ amount is the same as risking a consistent %. Like for me on a 100k account, I'm risking 1% ($1000) and even if i make more profit I'll keep risking that 1% (of my original account size)

Yea you chose a 100k account which you most likely do not have cause the 1k sounds nice but if you had a $500 $1000 account 1% is not that good

And plus tolerance is different between individuals im okay with risking $100 - $200 of a 1k account while you might only tolerate $10-$50 but if we did the 1% then it hinders me from growing the way I should

dollar amount. if you have a Sl off 100 and risk $1 you loss 100, if your stop was 200 pips, you lose 200. with % you loss the same amount every time. i guess with dollar amount you have bigger swings in your account

@@berndskorupinski if you risk 1%. everytime if you lose you will lose 1%. it does not matter if your stoploss is 100 pips or 200 pips. you lose 1% id you used dollar amount if you rsik 1dollar. if your stoploss is 100 pips you lose $100, if your stop loss was 200 pips you lose $200, right.

I only trade eod off daily and weekly chart and with stop losses that can be as wide as 400 pips, it would be criminal to trade that with fixed risk. I usually hold trades for 10-45 days. My goal isn't to time the market, it's to have time in the market that you're rewarded for and to make trading fit into my lifestyle. The profits will be silly with fixed risk as you can start to imagine how some volatile moves fail to reward you as much as lesser ones might. Measuring performance in R's will not make sense with my trading style either.

Then I don’t believe you have a very profitable trading style. And I am sorry, have never heard the phrase: “my goal is NOT to time the market”…sorry but this is super unprofessional. Anyway you are entitled to do whatever you do and I wish you all the best
