Ingredients:
- 1 box Betty Crocker French Vanilla cake mix
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Charcoal: Set up about 20 charcoal briquettes and light them to get them hot.
2. Preheat Dutch Oven: Place 10 briquettes under your Dutch oven to preheat.
3. Make the Glaze: In the bottom of the Dutch oven, melt the butter and sprinkle the brown sugar evenly on top. Add the blueberries, spreading them out.
4. Mix the Cake Batter: In a bowl, prepare the cake batter by mixing the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs as per the instructions on the box.
5. Pour the Batter: Gently pour the cake batter over the blueberries and brown sugar mixture.
6. Cook the Cake: Cover the Dutch oven and place about 10-12 briquettes on the lid. Let the cake cook for about 25-30 minutes or until the cake is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
7. Cool and Serve: Once done, remove the Dutch oven from the coals and let the cake cool for 5 minutes. Carefully flip the cake upside down onto a serving plate. Enjoy the buttery, caramelized blueberry topping!
