Hi guys, just subscribed. When we had our Bushtracker, years ago, we discovered that red lights are the ultimate anti-bug colour. ..way better than yellow. Only downside is the light is not a good as yellow so it’s a bit harder to see. Red globes don’t appear to exist, so we got ourselves a stash of red cellophane and either taped it around a light (such as the door handle light), or the best way is to insert it inside the the light so you don’t have to tape it on. I imagine this would be do-able for the door handle light. We even inserted the cellophane into a coupon of lights inside, one at the door so we could see to enter n exit, and one near the table so we could see to move around. Certainly not enough light to read by but enough to watch the box or use a kindle etc. Those so called bug proof screens still allow a lot of bugs in, hey! Loved your van. You have done a great job with it. Enjoy every day.

Thanks for the vid guys. You look at the price of Bushtrackers and just don't feel like you are getting value for money, but from your video its easy to see that there is a lot more thought put into practicality, usability and maintainability than most vans. Jealous!

Wow, you guys have thought through this in a lot of detail. What an envious lifestyle. Thanks for taking the time to show us around. I have a couple of questions; 1/ What fuel economy do you get on the highway? 2/ Free camping - I'd love to know how you find free camping sites that can accommodate such a large rig.

Hi Benny, we get 22 litres per hundred with or without the van, so not too bad. Free camping we use Wiki Camps and always read the reviews and checkout photo's. We also use Hema and if need be we shoe horn it in 😂 sometimes need the walkie talkie 👍 cheers Karl and Katty

@@nowhereboundtouring Thanks, Karl and Katty - interesting that the van makes very little difference to fuel use. It's also remarkably good consumption when compared with the more traditional 4x4 tug. You have oodles more space and mass to play with. I keep hearing about wiki camps, should look them up. Hi guy’s, we loved your spice rack so much we got one too. We are getting a Bushtracker this year and want to know how you attached it to the wall. Did you screw it to a backing first? Bit concerned about putting holes in the wall.

Hi Sue, the guys at Bushtracker fitted it for us on collections. They screwed it onto a backing plate and then onto the wall. We have since had to sicker flex it to the plate, so maybe take a tube of that for them to do at the time. Make sure that you consider the measurements and that it fits on a wall that will be able to be screwed into. Have a great 2021 and you will love your Bushtracker 👍

Great walkthrough, love the centre ensuite, it makes sense to separate the sleeping and living areas. I'm wondering what you use to mount your spice racks? Are they mounted on corflute and then stuck on?

Hi Annette, we love the ensuite being two rooms makes for more homely living I think. Lots of people like their bed at the entry not for me. the spice rack setup is screwed and lots of sicka flex then mounted on a 6mm ply wood, the ply wood is screwed to the wall. The spice rack comes with the grey backing which happened to be similar to our van colours. that then has been mounted to the ply before being attached to the wall. I was surprised that they didn't click together and remembered seeing yours when I watched your vid a few weeks ago. I thought I might have to mount them on ply first. I see you have the aftermarket showerhead. I have one as well, they work so well with low water pressure. Feels like a home shower.... BTW, whats the value of the tug and van? I reckon about 250K

Gday Mark, The shower head is standard from Bushtracker, they put them in all their vans. New price for truck and van would be over $200k each. Cheers, karl.

Hi driving onto the beach depends on the sand and how soft and deep . We judge depending, most beaches that are compact are fine so long as the entry to it is not to soft. Cheers Katty

Thanks for sharing. What did you use to shield the EMF from the underbed electronics @ 11:25? Did you get any measurements of how effective the screening was based on being on top of the bed?

Hi Dave, We used a metal mesh. The inverter should be reasonably well screened, but we added it just to help. It is not perfect as the ends are open, but better than nothing. We did not check the radiation before or after the screen was added. Thanks for watching👍

Great video guys, well set up and lots of tips! We have the same Aussie Traveler windows in our van and thought we were the only ones that think the blind/mesh is the wrong way round.... did you guys swap them around our did Bushtracker do it for you when they built your van? Cheers Patricia

you said you live permanently in the van, how do you manage rego payments etc. Also how come you didn't go full electric ie stove top etc so that way you dont need gas?

Hi Steve, currently we only have one battery and that wouldn't necessarily store enough power to always run an electric stove. Also I prefer to cook on gas. With our rego we receive reminders online and they go to my fathers address, who also reminds us. We just recently had to have the annual inspection and we were able to do that here in SA for Queensland. Hope this helps Cheers Katty
