Does the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Overheat? Tips on what you can do to prevent overheat and learn the best settings to prevent overheating! #DJI #djiosmopocket3
I appreciate that! Took more than what I expected as I have to redo some tests. And english is not my first language. Decided to speak english hoping to help more people.
Will be the same or worse plugged in. Worse if you use a fast charger as fast chargers heats up devices more. Also I dont have bigger sd to test. Mmi ran out of storage on some tests..
I have no seen any difference while filming. Never had it overheat in actual use as I have multiple cameras I use when I travel. Gopro,x3,iphone and this OP3.
appreciate it for your test bro, just looking for overheating test in high degree area because im in Indonesia now that normally 30degree + celcius in normal day, a lot of other youtuber test in quite low temperature area such as europe or us, can i know what sd card you use ? anyway its quite strange , when battery handle are suppose to make extra long recording, but turn out to be shorter
Glad you liked it. I am using Sandisk Extreme Pro 128gb. I was surprised too to see that I can record more without battery handle but then realized because its charging all the time.
Hello, 1. So, if we shoot with just in-built battery in 4k60fps, it would give us 105 minutes, right?? 2. But if we shoot with in-built and battery handle attached to it (with both 100% charged) then it would record for 48 minutes, is that right??? 3. If our in-built battery is close to 5percent and then we attach battery handle and then record then how much we will get recording time in 4k60fps?
The reason why shooting with battery attached is shorter is because of overheating. I think that makes sense because the unit is being charged. Like how hot our device gets when being charged even without using it.
Hello, 1. so if I shoot in 4k60fps without the battery handle and then my battery drain out to 0 so instead of attaching battery handle is there a system to charge that in-built battery using Type C cable ??? 2. Can we transfer our videos which are shot on pocket 3 to iphone 13 using lightning to type C cable???
I just tried with my usb c to lightning cable, it is a 3in1 cable, usb c to usb c/micro/lightning but doesnt seem to work. But i think its because of the cable. iPhone 12 does not get recognized when I plug to my mac using that cable. Unfortunately thats the only usb c to lightning cable I brought on my trip. I will be back next week, will check if I have usb c to lightning data cable at home. I tested usb c to usb c (iPhone 15 pro max) and it works.
At 30C in Taipei, my OP3 did overheat and stop recording 4K 120FPS after approx. 30 minutes continuous recording. It won't start the recording immediately. Therefore, I continued my works with iPhone. Summer is coming. Everyone of OP3 users will encounter the overheat problems soon.
Who films inside all day long? On a vlog camera? None of those results pertain to me here in Florida where it's 90/95 on avg with 85% humidity outside. Ive had 4k60 overheat my camera in auto and dlog in under 15 min with main screen at 50%. Overheating results from a camera stuck in a room are very much skewed and dont match real life usage. Go outside in 80 degree weather, set up a table or walk around in the sun until it shuts down. Guarantee the results are completely different. I do see some good baseline results but it's just not real life. Also, makes a difference with screen flipped horizontal vs vertical as the little bit of air being able to get to the device helps as well.
well for one I want to have a controlled environment for testing. So much variable shooting outdoors. Second there are actually people who shoot indoors.. in their studio.. while vlogging and cooking.. Talking headshots.. I can think of so many to put in this comment. But the main reason for testing this indoors is to have a consistent environment. plus one test lasted 3 hrs, youtube not paying me yet to walk 3 hrs just for one test hahaha! I hope you get it. If not well.. Wish you all the best and have a nice day.
a controlled environment is better for testing, and with limited air movement and a set temperature and without the consideration of sun... his test provides a baseline. up to you to figure out how much your own use case situation might effect the battery life based on the results from indoors. Plenty of people are going to use this camera for indoor vlogging, potentially podcasting and so on.
I would like to shoot indoor events "first person filming" continously that last more than 2 hours, and that's why it would be good if the camera can handle that time without problems.
there are a lot of cameras that can continuously record if you substitute the battery for a dummy battery/AC adapter. Like even if you don't have formal AC, I have a small portable powerbank with two AC outputs, I can record or stream endlessly with my ZV-1 with that platform. The dummy battery with adapter was like 11 dollars.@@m11kan
