Finally got the roller attachment completed and installed in the Power Hammer. Good results right out of the gate. The hope is that DIY formed patch panels save me $$!
Thanks for sharing, Larry! I think your modification to your power-hammer is absolutely brilliant! I also like that it is removable for when you're working larger panels! 'Looking forward to seeing how your modification to the dies work out! Bro Harry
The roller is a perfect companion for what you are doing there. Excellent idea! I think a little pressure on the material while feeding it through the dies will get that shape you need. we will see!
Well ------- I don't have a Power Hammer ------ and will have to go out and see if my '38 has any Bead Roll down low ----- I think since I don't have a P.H. ---- I'd have to --- do / make -- something for my Bead roller to match that contour ------- Are you sure you want to ---- cut down ---- that upper die you made ------- If you have to make another bead----- somewhere else / opposite side / in the future use ---- you won't have that upper die ------- Getting the panel closer to actual size ---- will make it easier to put some form in it ------ couldn't see how much you were rocking your straight edge --- didn't look like much -------- Maybe with less metal / now trimmed to size ---- maybe back to the P.H. and concentrating in the middle of the bead ----- may stretch in the middle / not going to the ends each time may give you that arch you need ------ Well ----- I hope you are staying cool ------ The --HEAT --- has us under her Thumb ---- Old song ----- "Under my Thumb" ---- Anyway think about losing the Upper Die ----- Have a Good Week --- and see You on your next one ----------- Rodney
When I mentioned cutting it down.... I was describing releaving the 90 degree edges on the top die. We'll give it a go As for using a bead roller.... it can be done...just has a few limitations that a PH does not have. But if that's what you got... you'll get it
