@@italianspartacus -- Wanna know the saddest part? I actually have nearly 300 hours into Baldur's Gate 3, and I still don't know what Baldur's Gate looks like... Every time I reach Act 3 I restart because I want to try something different lol.
Try restarting over from the beginning about 25 times...working on 26 right now. Spartacus put out a video How to stop analyzing and start playing. Oops, I did it again! :) (Oh never left Act 1...ever...sad)
@persistentpally I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've started many games, reached the druid Grove, and then decided to try something different. I've currently settled on a monk/rogue/ranger build. We'll see how far I get. 😅
@@dubya_tee_eff When I first started, Ranger was my class. It is a decent fighting class up to level 5. From there you can take Rogue Assasin and build a solid Gloomstalker. But it lacked dialogue abilities. And while gold isn't hard to get, the cost of items was expensive early on. Of course you had Wyll, and if you wanted to you can get Skilled feat to help with dialog and barter. I don't know how many times I restarted. Elf caused issue in the Goblin camp, and I thought of being a human, but I wanted something with a little more ability. Elves are still my favorite choice, but there is one conversation that wouldn't work for an Elf, so I chose Tiefling. I have a roleplay plan now. If I could offer advice, start with Fighter. Go through Act 1 for a spell and see if you want to mix in something else. Feats are there to be used, so pick one that fits what you want for that character. I relied on community content too much. Let go. Play. Enjoy.
Oh my god thank you so much bro. I have slowly been trying to teach myself all this and it's been okay, and now my wife decided she wanted to play with me and I can't explain everything to her the way she wants cuz I'm still learning and it's going to cause a divorce I cannot tell you how much we needed this video thank you! 😅
Just got into BG3 and I'm absolutely loving it so far. The quests, the storytelling, it's just amazing. I felt overwhelmed when I first started but it took me a few hours to get a feel for how to play the game properly. I'm absolutely hooked now.
Thank you SO much for this video! I am new to the all things D&D but decided to give Baulder's Gate 3 a go since I am big into story-heavy games. I am in love with this game but was very confused. I'm about 20 hours in, still in Act 1 lol. This was super helpful!
Same here, new to the D&D scene myself. I just bought it a few days ago and it's absolutely amazing. I'm about the same amount of time and still in act 1. Made a human warlock. The storytelling and quests are just top notch.
After you start the game, there are ONLY 3 things that you cannot change whenever you want: Race/Subrace, Gender/Body Type, and Background (Proficiencies). During the game, there are only 2 unchangeble stats: the 1 point from the Hag's Hair and the 3 points from the Mirror.
Sooooo useful, thank you so much dude. You do a great job at touching on the surface of nearly every aspect and bringing it all together when it comes to combat. I'ver been trying to wing it for my first 50 hours and I was JUST starting to understand the fact that I can use turn-based mode to basically stop time to steal stuff etc lol xD Canceling the "end turn" if you forgot something is really awesome btw I don't recall that ever being mentioned in-game at all
I wish I would have found Italian Spartacus when I did my initial search on BG3 content. I did, however, saw the How To Start Enjoying The Game - no more analyzing. I have a hard time doing that in RPGs because there is a lot to learn in BG3 (and 5th E). For Skyrim, the race *was* very important to your character. I'd play a Khajit or Wood Elf as a ranged character. I would get paralysis deciding on one or two-handed weapons since they required perks. 1800 hours of LE and I never installed a mod due to having a low range laptop. When I did get a medium rig, I started to mod only to find myself in the same Analysis Paralysis and for three years, I never played Skyrim with what I built. I had a Wabbajack list that was very well done, so I played that instead. When BG3 arrived, I bought it and started to play it. I knew nothing about what I was doing, so the Analysis Paralysis took effect. Short version: I'm now on my nth beginning in Act 1 and I've made a save as a Oath of Vengeance Paladin called Decision. It will sit at that save until I decide to move forward with that character or talk to Jergal (Withers). I will move forward and with the help of Spartacus and his YT efforts, I will understand the context of BG3. Thanks for all your effort.
Great video! My tip is to do a custom Tav first. Then either a set origin character or Dark Urge. Dark Urge is a great 2nd or 3rd playthrough, and this game has amazing replay value. It's definitely worth it. Hopefully, this helps anyone new to the game a little bit more :)
Thank you for this video ! On my first playthrough and I accidentally skipped a lot of side missions and now am getting my butt kicked on EXPLORER in Act 3 so highly considering starting a 2nd playthrough
Tip I picked up somewhere - If you spend 100g to change your class early on, but are short of cash, just pickpocket it back from Withers. For some reason he doesn't seem to mind 😁
Just started playing BG3 yesterday with my buddies, never really played DnD before either, talk about perfect timing with this video! This helped out a ton, thank you!
I been eyeballing this game since I seen it demolish at the Video Game Awards. Decided to buy it last night played a couple of hours before work and now in hooked I can't wait to get out and finish
Make sure you’re not like me, 66 hours and I haven’t even gotten out of the grove yet, I keep restarting and making new characters for no damn reason 😂
Another thing to note is, it will use the class you took first level of as saving throws and items. So if you take 1 lvl of Sorcerer and then 1 level of Cleric. Well you don't want this because if your goal is to be a Sorcerer now it goes off wisdom instead of charisma. This severely nerfs the Sorcerer. Important as well is that you can't then take level 3 Sorcerer to override that. It will always specifically be the latest level 1. So be careful in how you multiclass. If you want to be a Sorcerer/Cleric for the armor proficiencies, then take Sorcerer after level 1 Cleric.
I am 77 hours in and I just got off 3 month trip trawling fish in new zealand and forgot the buttons and stuff or where i am at with the story lol so im starting again ❤
This was very helpful! My husband and I have been playing for 3 months now and I had no idea how all the things worked. I’ve just been just winging it but after watching this I finally understand the ability and skill connection. I’m playing on console and am jealous of the pc interface! Does the game function exactly the same of both? Meaning the controls might be different but the game is the same?
He's talking about it doesn't affect the game itself, like no race gives extra stats to anything. Dialogue options yes, but d&d use to give stats based on race
At 100 plus hours into the game I do enjoy this noob video but I gotta say that the damage system ain’t near as complicated as you make it sound from 18:00 onwards… :)
A RECENT VIDEO!!!!!! Can anybody help with what my stats should start as pls? I want a heavy armor, sword & board, necromancer tank. Army of the dead kind thing. I want to be frontline with undead oh annd hes gonna be human. Sorry I've never played D&D.
