Very functional and sympathetic home, guys. You can be proud of that. That outdoor tent with awning and walls is a really great solution. I have also built a Peudeot Partner Van 1.6 diesel over the course of two years. There is still a small adjustment. Good luck and great adventures.
Thankyou so much for your Kind words 😀 We do love our micro camper. The tent awning is deffinenatly a great addition when staying on a site for multiple nights. Highly recommended. Sounds great, similar size to ours. There fantastic to just go anywhere in arnt they. Happy Travels
I've now seen both your van build and in this video of how you organize it all. I can fully understand that you are happy with it all. You have done a great job on the van and it seems like you have thought it all through. I hope you will have many lovely and unforgettable trips in your mini van. I look forward to following you on this channel
We brought a Portable ‘ induction hob’ for camping - fantastic - frees up space if going for just electrical hook up & can cook inside as no chance of CO poisoning or setting fire to the place !
Sounds great, a much easier & safer choice on a site, the gas cooker hob can be fumey inside and you can't use it out side if the weathers bad. We don't use EHU anymore otherwise we would deffo consider this thanks
Wow I watched your build amazing! the blue bits of the van showing I would carpet then it's easy to do! the stuffs on E-bay. love the layout, you will enjoy this little baby as you can go places my motorhome will not go! as we are fairly large! i HAVE SUBSCRIBED TO SEE HOW AND WHERE YOU GO!! Best wishes ken ps our van called Peggy......
Thankyou for your kind words. Ye the layout works great for us. Every van has pros and cons, luckily one of our pros is we can get down most roads. Thankyou and I hope you have some more good times in Peggy 👍
Sweet build. For your music id recommend a FM transmitter. Plug it into your 12V cigarette lighter thing connect your phone by Bluetooth and set your radio to the same frequency. You can get them for like £10-£20 on Amazon
Hi Guys - great meeting you at the weekend, I Thought id start with your van tour! and I love it! somebody has a keen eye for detail!! you have thought of everything!!
Hiya Steve 😁 So great meeting you too! Awww, thank you so much 😊 ... I think at this point as it was still new and exciting so we thought of too much 🙈😂 We have learned that we no longer need so much and van in a more simple way 😁 The van has changed quite a bit since this video. We have also subbed to your channel and look forward to giving your videos a watch after hearing your story on Saturday 😄 Have a good week 👍🏻
Most of these older maxi caddys you can buy here in Germany were intensely used and have a large amount of km. I'm looking for one but I'm afraid to buy something over the 200k km. Can you tell me more about yours? How many km did your caddy have when you purchased it, how does it drive at that milage and what were the costs, if any, for fixing or replacing parts? Great build btw, these mini campers are a great option for those that don't want to spend a lot on a pre-built camper or on a van to convert themselves. I think that another great part about it is that you can use also to travel through cities and not be camp site bound because of a large vehicle. Looking forward to reading your answer to my questions if you're willing to share that info. Thumbs up!
Thankyou for this we appritiate it. Our caddy is low milage we braught her with 71k on but if you watch our latest video youl see that its not necessarily reliable. We have a vw passat 2.0 with 132k miles on and that is really reliable, we can drive that anywhere. Good luck with finding your van 👍🏻
Congratulations! Your conversion is very well done and shows a great design sense. Your vid is one of the very best vids I've watched on this topic (haven't all of us watched countless vids?); it is wonderfully scripted, cleverly filmed, and creatively edited. Well done!
Just a quick information. For the original VW car stereo system you can get Bluetooth adapter that go between the original cable, no need to cut anything. Unplug, connector between and replug and you have Bluetooth connectivity which allow you to play content from your phone.
Hey folks, not sure if the same applies to your van but check if there is a aux jack in the glove box! I use it to play Spotify over the van speakers . Your radio is the same as mine so hopefully the jack is there and you can use the media button to select the source 🙂 Great conversion by the way 👍
Thankyou, Yes we do have an aux behind the glove box. We have tryed lots of things to get it to work but still no joy. We don't have a source option just media (which is cd) & radio 🤔
@@NathandHannah Hey, I just had a look at my radio again. For some reason VW decided the Aux input needs to be turned on with the radio settings. In my instance, it's Menu -> Setup -> aux -> (On Off). When it's set to on, you can then hit the Media button which should (hopefully) display CD Aux as source inputs. No actual button called "Source". Hope that helps 🙂
I've just tried this. We don't have the aux option in the set up 😕 Thankyou for the pointers anyway as I've just looked on the radio on our passat to see if thats the same as our aux works on that and all the settings are there 👍 Must have been deleted off our caddy
@@NathandHannah Boooo to that. 👎 That's a pity. Must be a glitch somewhere then so. It's a fairly small issue overall and you have a fantastic looking mini-camper. Looking forward to watching your adventures 🤙
Can I have some information of your drive away awning? It looks great. we just bought a caddy and looking for a easy awning that we can hang out by water side insteads of carrying a full gear tent.
Absolutely Brilliant! I Have the same van that I use for my Plumbing and Heating business, and recently went away in it to Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough , with my 'driveaway awning' Nath, you are a Lucky lad to have a beautiful girl on board who buys into the lifestyle, I am (currently) a solo traveller, but absolutely so encouraged by your video. I am currently researching how to make my own bespoke 'Tarps/ Awnings' etc ,so any ideas I can get are always helpful. Mine will be slightly different from yours as I need it to be my working van ( I will let you know of my ideas in due course) I am planning ;' Full length Truck bed drawers' out of the back of the van. But I love the Awning you have and the storage tent, please can you post the links to these items? And any other useful links? Many thanks to you both for posting this it is very inspirational! I look forward to following you on your travels! Good Luck and God Bless to you both dx
Thank you very much. Yes we are lucky that we both enjoy the same hobbies. It makes getting away alot more enjoyable. Our awnings are (pull out) direct4x4.co.uk 2m x 2m Our drive away awning is: 6 man living space tent from Decatherlon. Your build idea sounds great. Making stuff your self is definitely the best way so you can get the most out of the space. We wish you all the best with your build and adventures 👍
The only change I would make is to add cargo nets to the walls. If it’s not a cheeky question, do you mind me asking how much the van and conversion cost? X
Wow 🤩 Asombroso, maravillosamente hermoso e impecable trabajo 😍 Felicidades chicos 👏🏻 Y como regalo 🎁 merecido les dejo mi like 👍🏻 y mi subscripción 💝 😊
Thankyou Steve. The heater is a quest fan heater from go outdoors. This can only be used off the mains electric though. We are Refurbishing Claudia and have now added a dieael heater to run off grid. We will be putting together a new van tour soon 👍🏻
Thankyou 😁 since this video we have made some modifications to Claudia so we have the "Realistic van tour" video on our page. The main modification was adding a diesel heater 👌🏻🔥
Great Camper Build, really enjoyed the video. one question I have is did you have to have much work done to the Maxi itself ? & what did you get for the Tigra as part ex?
Thankyou we appritiate it. The van its self didn't have much work tbf. We had 2 x sliding door windows fitted and the barn door windows tinted. Added rood bars and swapped the steels for alloys. Got 1k part x
Thanks John Ye so our pull out awning is off a website called direct4x4.co.uk Lots to choose from but our particular one is 2m x 2m in grey. Our roof box is from go outdoors. I've forgot the exact size but it was the medium sized one. Hope this helps 👍🏻
Great conversion - looks super cosy! I’m currently debating the standard or maxi caddy. Like you, it would be my daily vehicle too. How do you find parking in standard car park bays etc? Does it overhang the space or fit within the bay? Also, do you find it fairly economical to run? Thanks 🙏
Hiya Zack, Thank you very much 😊 That's really lovely of you to comment! Definitely go for the maxi to give you that bit of extra room at the end of the bed. Also the extra space, we think is needed as it's a small campervan anyway. Parking is fine, it is just like parking a large car or people carrier. The only issue we have with the size is the height as having the roof box on takes us over 2.2 metres. So height barriers can be a bit of a problem. Our Caddy Maxi is a 1.9 engine & we get around 37 mpg when fully loaded on a run 👍🏻 Other than that good luck with your build if you decide to go for it 😁 We hope this helps!
Hiya, Hannah is 5ft 2 and Nathan is 5ft 6 so we can just about sit upright. This is with our bed / mattress set up though. You can build the bed lower so it sits just ontop of the wheel arches if you wanted extra clearance. Cheers
Really great setup, well done! You guys also do a great presentation as well as meticulous recordings. Would you consider getting a small trailer in the future to help manage with extra stuff eg paddle ski / windsurfer / inflatable dingy?
Thankyou for this. We are managing alright for storage at the moment. As we have just done a 12day trip in her. I dont know what the future will bring but we would probably go down the route of a bigger van rather than trailer / caravan. A nice t5 would be the dream or even a Ducato 👌
@@scottfraser.wildlife there just seat covers off ebay. Our original seats were dull. There's a few clips of them near the start Of our van build video on our chanel. Seat covers fit well, head rests could be better but all round tidier. Just conect the straps underneath the seats using the provided clips
