You got me with VR a few months back.. And now I'm kitted out with a rig, 49" Ultrawide, Moza R12, CRP, GS wheel. Appreciate your channel for starting my addiction. 🙂
Live in small place. I built i9 1300, nvidia 3070, 64 g ram, samsung odyssey neo g monitor and thrustmaster t300 because no waiting period. Next level racing monitor stand and wheel abd pedal stand. Now find it difficult to find a game that supports VR and thrustmaster. I have over 3k invested. I suffered a stroke recently and dr told me no driving, so I am using sim racing to get back into the seat of 1991ford mustang convertible. I would appreciate some game suggestions.
Very nice and informative! How about VR sickness, did it go away with time? I'm using Valve Index, but usually it is hard to race longer then 30 min in VR
I sold my sim racing wheel a couple of months ago and from then on i used a controler on ac. I can drift, i cane be competitive on races and on no hesi. And i am actualy very comoetitive on controler and if you stay a bit on the setting you can have a really nice experience driving. Im still slower then when i am on a wheel but till i upgrade its just fine.
You left out all of the actual budget options like the Cammus C5 which is under $300 for wheel AND base or the Simsonn pedals which have loadcell brakes for $200.
Again these are products I’ve not tested and so wouldn’t recommend without doing this. Cammus and PXN have reached out recently and we’re working out how I can review these products fairly and in an unbiased way. 👍🏻
I know you want clicks, but 'ultimate guide'? You've got a good RU-vid voice, but you need to do some research before you make a video. You've only mentioned two wheelbases, omitting Logitech, Simagic, Simucube, VRS, Asetek (I choose to omit Cammus and PXN) as well as other bases from Fanatec and Moza, and there were inaccuracies with what you did mention, including: 1. All current wheelbases work with PC, it's just which consoles they work with that varies, so you don't need to think of PC compatibility down the road 2. For Fanatec, PlayStation compatibility is handled by the wheelbase, xbox by the wheel, so the GT DD Pro can work on PS, PC, and xbox -- when paired with an xbox wheel. The CSL DD can work with PC and, when paired with an xbox wheel, xbox. The CS DD and DD+ have been available for a little while now too, so if you're covering Fanatec, worth a mention, along with the DD1 and your own DD2 3. Low end Logitech wheelbases use gears... you said that there are only two types, belt-driven and direct drive 4. Heusinkveld aren't hydraulic 5. Other little things like the Samsung ultrawide is 49" with a new 57, not 47
Hey thanks for your time and your comments. I do appreciate that 👍🏻 All of the other companies you mention produce direct drive products that are far more expensive than the more affordable direct drive offerings from Moza and Fanatec. The video is targeted at viewers who are beginners and focuses on how to get into sim racing as cheaply as possible. It’s not targeted at someone getting into sim racing where money is no object. That’s a whole new video 😀 I’ve not tested other wheel bases as of yet in this price bracket and so I would only recommend something to others that I can speak confidently of. I wouldn’t want anyone to spend their hard earned money on something I’ve not tested myself. It’s the same as the sim rigs I’ve mentioned too. There’s so many companies that offer great rigs at similar costs to what Trakracer offer but I can’t test them all. I did note you’d omitted Cammus and PXN. They’ve got in contact lately to ask me to review them. Have you had any experience with these? Curious to get your thoughts. As I mentioned in the video I would recommend everyone buying a wheelbase go straight to a direct drive one especially given the choice and low prices. And this is why I didn’t cover gear-driven as a choice to spend money on. The video was already longer than I’d hoped so to cover more Fanatec and Moza bases would have made it even longer when I just wanted to introduce the company and some great dd options. Good spot on the UltraWide. Mistakenly said 47” instead of 49” which is amusing given I stare at a 49” curved everyday 🤣 And appreciate the comment about my RU-vid voice. Personally I thought I’d not got a voice for radio and certainly not a face for TV. 🤣
