You don't really hear music like this in Spider-Man media anymore. All of the old Spider-Man games used to have sort of electronic dnb and industrial rock-ish music like this. The game based on the 2002 movie's menu theme had that kind of vibe. The theme song to the 90s show had that sort of vibe. The music in the MTV show had that kind of vibe. I guess it was more a product of the era, but it was a sound that I associate really strongly with Spider-Man. It just captures that youthful, chaotic energy. Like, when I hear the music from this game, the base and synths, it makes me think of the color red and web patterns. I know that's just by my mental association between the music and the UI elements, but like... Man, I just really fucking like this kind of music. I wish it were at least still associated with Spider-Man.
Yup I feel you completely! The closest we've had recently is the soundtrack for Into the Spider-verse, which is amazing. I really hope that in the next Spider-Man game, they can have some sort of throwback to this, or a classic music pack. I never knew how much I missed this game until now...
Kinda sad that the 2000's era of techno music is mostly dead and replaced with generic orchestral music. I think it was Sony who wanted to have this type of music since they had the license to Spiderman media and they wanted it to be trendy for the young audience who were viewing it. Since Disney now mostly controls Spiderman media, they have changed Spiderman to better fit their image of what they think he should be as well as the music, for better or worse depending on how you see it. Personally, I'm not a fan of this generation's Spiderman.
It's definitely the era, the music of the Teen Titans show also comes to mind with how experimental it was. Also Batman Beyond. And yes, I heartily agree that this sort of music not only fits Spider-Man, but the youthful superhero vibe in general. It's just got the perfect sound for it! Truly a unique era in media that cannot be surpassed.
Loch Ness Hamster The new mysterio theme from Far From Home channels this sound though. It reminds me of what kind of music I associate with Spider-Man.
@@doclouis4236 I wouldn't say that the Marvel's Spider-Man theme song is generic. It's almost in the same level as Danny Elfman's. However, i like this more, and is more fitting for this age of the character
@@tonyknighton4019 I guess it's because it was cut in the game version to loop it while we free roam. I'm very glad that I found this full ost, if we'll get Into The Spider-Verse game one day, I hope it'll be as great.
@@theamazingspiderman4911 It kinda is the Spider-Verse game now that you mentioned it. Just not on that big scale we got later. Sadly we never even got a sequel to it where they also showed SpiderHog
these open city tracks are so ingrained into my brain. so many hours as a kid just swinging around the city while these tracks play. i love spider-man 2 and i know a lot of people consider it to be the best spider-man game but ultimate's art style and soundtrack and just overall atmosphere absolutely trump 2's in my opinion. really hope this game gets a remaster or remake at some point
I've looped this for about 2 hours now now it is now my old time favorite song I Don't know if I can look at Spider-Man the same anymore Jesus Christ I need to go to sleep
very much the composer who made the ost to invader zim weird how i played this and unknowingly listened to the same music style i'd enjoy many years later first watching the show (i got into it very late)
exploring the map saving many people and facing Boomerang and Shocker 😎🤧😔 Childhood summed up in this song Too bad there wasn't a second game like and bye!
