Ultimate Spider-Man - Hopeless 

There is a HUGE difference between being reckless and abusing power like he does with the Iron Spider suit in this show. That goes against his core principle that "with great power comes great responsibility".

No Character Development ? Have we even been watching The Same Show ? What about Otto struggling to get out of Norman`s shadow ? What about Peter still angsting over Uncle Ben`s death ? What about the rivalry between Nova and Spidey ? What about Norman and Fury competing for control of Spidey to serve their own ends ? What about Sandman`s clear mental issues ? What about Coulson taking his Principal duties way too seriously ? What about Harry`s mix of friendship and jealousy towards Peter ?

Forgot how awesome this tribute was since I saw it a few months ago.

The suits feed on negative emotions. When they COMPLETELY bond with their first host, there natures are shaped by their host's Personality. Hell, the first one may have learned to feed on positive emotions had it fully bonded with Peter, which it never did, as he rejected it. Venom was formed from Brock's anger and hatred, while Carnage was born from Kasady's insanity, his homicidal nature and hiss love of inflicting pain and suffering on others. It was his love of, well, carnage.

No worries. The sad thing about this show is, it would suck eeven if they tried to make it more serious. All of the characters, even Peter, are just so two dimensional and undeveloped that you could put them through any kind of struggle, but the audience isn't given enough of the characters to actually care about them.

Season 2, in my opinion, had a great mixture of comedy, seriousness, and decent story. However, too much Goblin...anyone else agree?

Remember , The Show is still in its prototype stages . The idea of Spidey working on a team supervised by Nick Fury is straight outta the USM Comics , Spidey was reluctant to join at first and continues to have trust issues with Fury , the Team thing is clearly not intended to last , Spidey and Nova`s rivalry gets more and more tense , Tiger`s basically a Fury pawn , Iron Fist`s just learning about Earth life and Power Man`s the only one who really gets Spidey but is best friends with Iron Fist

You`re forgetting that Peter is still a teenager , doesn`t entirely trust Fury and his Team ( With good reason ) and thus was unprepared to commit fully to them . As you yourself said , Spidey`s a lone wolf hero and is working on The Team mainly because Fury gave him no other choice . Peter still resents Fury for that . Also , you should`ve learned from Peter`s initial use of his Spider-powers and the Symbiote situation in The Comics when he gets a new power he`s too excited to think straight .

Now this just made the show awesome!!

What about all the secrets between the Team , Spidey and Fury slowly building up ? What about Norman ignoring Harry yet rushing to save him from the Frightful Four( Or Three as they were down a member at that point ) ? What about the moral implications of the Team invading a sovereign country without Fury`s permission ? What about Fury`s shock at finding out his brother`s a supervillain cult leader who wants him dead ? What about Iron Fist adapting to Earth life ?

Precisely and in this Show`s Version Venom is formed first from Peter`s repressed resentment of Fury for forcing him to be on a Team against his will and later Harry`s repressed jealousy of Peter and Spider-Man and desire to be a " better Spider-Man than Spider-Man " to impress his father . In The Ultimate Comics , Venom was formed from Peter`s hatred of Trask for stealing and tampering with his father`s work and later Eddie`s hatred of both Peter and Trask .

The suit influences him. So the Symbiote arguement's void. He hardly used the Iron Spider suit, as he sided with Captain America after he saw the negative zone prisons for those who didn't abide by the new acts. He abuses the suit several times, causing mass destruction in a single episode, here.

All those secrets that have been stacking up between Fury , Spidey and the rest of The Team are eventually going to come out and tear them apart . It`s just a matter of time . It`s already confirmed Season 2 will have more solo adventures , epic fights and classic Spidey villains so the end of Fury`s dream team is surely on its way .

The symbiotes aren't evil to begin with. They don't know right from wrong the way a person does and it just wanted to help improve HIS life even if it meant harming others. It grows twisted after Peter rejects it and when it completely binds with Eddie, it's characteristics, Venom, are formed through Brock's hatred.

Season 3 is much better. A bit darker themes.

You can easily tell when The Suit`s talking and when Eddie`s talking . When it uses complete sentences , it`s Eddie talking . When it says things like " Hunger " and " Feed " , it`s The Suit talking .

With Peter yes , with Eddie it`s more of a parasite at first due to Eddie`s DNA being incompatible with The Suit which was made from Richard Parker`s DNA before absorbing the final remnant of itself that was in Peter`s bloodstream from Carnage , then it became more of a symbiote for Eddie as well .

Um , the Portrayal of Spidey is intended as a mix of the wide-eyed innocence of the earliest portrayals of Spidey in the 616 Comics and The First Film`s Incarnation before everything went to Hell for Pete as well as the streetwise , punk geek with a heart of gold of the early Ultimate Comics and Deadpool`s Fourth Wall Awareness .

The Symbiotes feed on adrenaline which comes from strong emotions , positive and negative alike . They just happen to tend to bond with hosts with more negative emotions than positive which affects The Symbiote`s own personality .

I don`t mind his mutated " electro-monster " form . I think it gives him more of a sense of greater menace than just another costumed thug .

True, but He looks cool in some forms of hos green and yellow costume. Or the yellow and Black one from Web of Shadows. Now THAT was a badass look.

While Ultimate Venom was weak to electricity and flame rather than loud noise and flame like the 616 Version , Ultimate Carnage retained its Original Counterpart`s weakness against flame . It was nicknamed " Little Ben " by Conners after Reilly . It killed the original Ultimate Gwen , absorbed her DNA and attempted to plead with its " Father " Peter in his own Father`s voice as it fell into a flaming garbage heap to its death but a piece of it survived and was sneaked out of the lab by Reilly.

The Game`s Version , you might call Ultimate Spider-Carnage , is no longer Canon but is a fascinating concept nonetheless . Peter still had some of The Suit inside him and Trask and Toomes bring it out only to find it completely uncontrollable and Toomes is killed in the crossfire while Trask runs to his chopper to escape .

I mean , hell , Peter actually stated he was playing dumb for exactly that reason in one of the early episodes . Plus , he understandably still doesn`t and in light of recent events likely never will , trust Fury enough to show him his true potential . Also , the Team thing clearly is not intended to last . That`s becoming increasingly clear as time goes on . Those secrets just keep piling up , big secrets and it`s only a matter of time till a major scandal happens that brings it all down !

Which is why I prefer SD's Carnage, which you kill when you throw it into the wall and the burning roof collapses on it.

In my mind , the Animated Series and New Animated Series took the wrong approach in starting out with the dark stuff and bringing in the more lighthearted , comic booky elements later . Spectacular and Ultimate got it right by starting out with the silly stuff and then as the viewers mature , gradually bringing in more of the darker , adult themes which is how The Comics ( 616 and Ultimate alike ) tended to do it as well .

The Show`s still in its experimental stages . Remember when Spectacular was first airing and everyone was bitching about the Animation being too simplistic , Gwen being a nerd , the racelifts , Montana being Shocker , Otto and Harry being wusses , Harry seeming to be the first Green Goblin when it wasn`t even conclusive and then The Show went on and most everybody embraced it in the end ? The intention for this Show is clearly , just like Spectacular , to mature with The Viewers over time .

Probably, the best on screen appearance of Ultimate Carnage was when you fought him in Shattered Dimensions. I think they should make a new free roam game set in Ultimate Universe, or the one from the Specatacular Cartoon. And joining Spidey as playable characters should be Venom, Silver Sable (Mercenary missions), Kraven the Hunter, Felicia (thief/ vigilante missions and maybe others. I'd also like to see more underated villians like Shocker, Tombstone, Beetle and Hydroman.

Scenario 1: He didn't know that would happen, he just saw a machine that created a new costume out of an organic material. Scenarios 2 and 3: There was no other choice. That's not exactly endangering everyone around him by abusing his power, is it? In all of the three scenarios you just mentioned, he does what he believes is the right thing. And before you throw out a black suit arguement, it influences his behavior, so tht's not really just him doing it.

What about Stan the Janitor`s sage advice ? What about the secrets between Norman and Otto slowly building them up to become rivals for the position of Spidey Archnemesis Numero Uno ? What about Otto , Flint and Harry`s clear paranoia ? What about Harry`s uncertain destiny ?

This show is the worst thing I've seen in ages. If I didn't already know that, I'd be expecting it to be awesome from this tribute. You've done a brilliant job making this crap look amazing, well done.

Awesome video ! I love The Show , I think it wouldn`t be getting nearly as much of the excessive , vehemant hatred it`s been getting if Spectacular didn`t exist . I mean , don`t get me wrong , I loved Spectacular as much as anybody if not more but there are things Spectacular does better ( Flash , MJ , The darker moments ) and things Ultimate does better ( Harry , Doc Ock , Venom ) . I mean , are these people even aware Spectacular wouldn`t exist without the Ultimate Comics ?

yeah, dude; the shows great, little comedy and a great change pace, since every show we see of spider-man there's a bit of seriousness, this shows a bit different; funny, and a little bit aimed for younger audiences, that's why the amv I made from the show had a bit of seriousness as well, y'know to show how awesome the show is. ^_^

It was clever how they made it Peter in the game, though I prefered how it possesed Gwen's clone whenever she was frightened or angry.

What about Harry merging with the Venom Symbiote , oblivious to its volatile nature and ignoring Peter`s warnings , to become a Superhero like Spidey and earn his father`s respect ? What about the dramatic irony of Peter and most other New Yorkers still being oblivious to Norman`s true evil nature while the viewers and S.H.I.E.L.D. are well aware ? What about Norman and Otto both secretly having plans for Harry after learning he was Venom ? What about Peter learning to trust his Team ?

Spidey's the favorite of the whole world, but we like him cuz' he's awesome, badass, and cool; not cuz' he's childish he can be, but playful not childish, and not over exaggerated with his jokes, he's a natural mocker, man. thanks for the comment ^_^

i heard in they're making a second season of the show and they adding the lizard in it along with origin stories of nova, white tiger, power man, and iron fist! i'm hoping doc ock starts the masters of evil and they introduce more marvel super heroes and new shield trainees for the program such as ultimate spider-woman (clone of peter parker aka jessica drew), spider-girl (anya (arana) corazon), miles morales, x-23, iceman, firestar, human torch, shadowcat, reptil and misty knight!

Yeah I have heard that but I don´t belive it before I see it. I have heard they will focus on explaining the past for the Amazing-Friends. I have seen that the last episode of this season will have Norman Osborn turning into the Green Goblin. Maybe they will make clear that the over the top jokes are over and that we go to Spidey-humor next.

I love The Show , serious and comedic moments alike ! Reason being , along with Avengers : Earth`s Mightiest Heroes , it is the most accurate adaptation of MARVEL Comics to date aside from the whole " Spidey : Agent of S.H.I.EL.D. "/MARVEL Team-Up thing which did exist in The Ultimate Comics as did Fury and Osborn both trying to get Spidey to work for them for their own shady ends and that Arc is clearly not intended to last forever .

Season 2 is going through a little bit of a dark path, though I'm skeptical as you are, but I heard DEADPOOL guest star in one ep. I think I'll see it through, if it sucks, then this show is hopeless, if not, then I'm tempted to see more.

Look at it this way , The Show is still in its experimental stages right now . It`s just like The Comics . You gotta get the jokes and silly , childish stuff outta the way first and then gradually ease into the darker , more complex themes as the viewers mature . That progression is already happening slowly but surely and has been since the First Episode . Eventually , everything will come together . Spidey learns from his mistakes . Nova`s an arrogant douche and Tiger`s a know-it-all .

Well , there were technically 3 Ultimate Carnages , 2 of which were Canon . The original was a bio-plasmic construct created by Curt Conners and Ben Reilly ( An African-American Lab Assistant with shady motives rather than The Scarlet Spider in The Ultimate Comics ) from The Suit which Richard Parker and Eddie Brock Sr. created from Richard`s DNA combined with Peter`s blood and his own for good measure . Lizard and Spider DNA plus a weaponized Bio-Suit = Recipe for disaster .

Well, I'll half agree to that, man. I think they should keep the animation since it's awesome, but they can make a new story for Spidey, but in defense of the series I think they're just trying get some new characters animated like Taskmaster, and even the main heroes like White Tiger and Nova, they haven't made any appearances in animation at all.

One arguement I have with some "hardcore SPidey fans" that I believe you can back me up on: Though the Ultimate Venom isn't an alien life form, it's still technically a symbiotic life form and can be dubbed a symbiote. What's your opinion?

Yeah I have heard about it but won´t judge it before I see it. They also said they want to explor the origins of the Amazing-Friends. Ofcourse , that`s what I love about this Show and Spectacular ( I know TAS created the idea but I still hate them for totally wussifying one of the greatest MARVEL Villains Goblin or no Goblin of all time ) , setting Norman up as a Villain even before he becomes The Goblin .

Typo from quick ttyping, no biggie. And Actually, I'm a 16 year old who gre up reading older comics and watching the 90s Spiderman cartoon, genius. I've always liked Spiderman. Problem? Of course it matters. It's only set in the comic universe that is so popular it has influenced every Spiderman film and Cartoon since. And they've managed to screw up every character on the show except Tony Stark. When you change the core elements of an iconic hero, you screw it up, period.

That was one thing that disappointed me with Web of Shadows. I was hoping to see Carnage, Lasher, Toxin, Hybrid, Phage, Agony, Scream and the rest.

Sorry for the late reply brah, that episode spidey crawling up to the rain is ep. 1 or 2 (Great Power or Great Responsibility); While spidey being taken over by venom (symbiote) is ep. 4(venom). hope that helps. ^_^

I think they did´t not or not the TAS atleast. It was lighthearted and easy first with villiand of the week episodes. But it took it self serious but was still really funny. Season 2 was when it was dark and right of heavy to watch. I mean MAN-SPIDER!!! TNAS was well I don´t know it shifted bettwen ligth and dark in a nice pace for me but it was okay. Spectacular got real serious in Episode 3 and was just hit after great hit unwards going with it´s story like no Spiderman show before,

i hope harry osborn becomes anti-venom!

BTW I thought the show whould focus on the being a SHEILD agent and Norman trying his way of geting Spiderman but he just never did. I was super hyped after the first 2 episodes but just never come. I like the Team up it´s the Marvel world every day should be a hero pumping into another hero. The characters just never works. They don´t learn from past misstakes and I mean never. Doc Ock was the only character I like in the show he is like Mr Freeze of this show. But they don´t go far enough.

What about Secret Wars where Spidey took a black ball from a costume machine to replace his torn costume , not knowing said black ball was an alien symbiote that would torment him for years to come ? That was pretty irresponsible , wasn`t it ? What about Civil War where he ripped off his mask in public and revealed his Secret Identity to the world just `cause Tony Stark told him to , thus endangering his loved ones ? That wasn`t irresponsible ? Making a deal with Mephisto in One More Day ?

The show does suck, that's why I wanted to make a tribute showing it to be more serious and great, but I guess the show isn't gonna be any serious or awesome; It's disappointing but what can we do, and thanks for the comment, man.

They didn`t screw up White Tiger , Fury , Norman , Harry , Iron Fist , Venom ( A different approach sure but honestly Eddie Brock was always more a component of Venom than a Character in his own right while Harry was a Character we knew and cared abourt beforehand and since Ultimate Brock was a childhood friend of Peter`s , merging elements of him into Ultimate Harry really is not that much of a stretch ) , Sandman , Hulk , Wizard , Trapster , Doc Ock , Stan the Janitor .

Ya but Brock`s selfishness and belligerence blinded him to the fact that he screwed himself over by not checking his facts and Peter just exposed him for the fraud he was ( Inadvertantly when they didn`t even know eachother might I add ) , in TAS he did get his facts straight but his selfishness and desire to beat Peter to the punch led him to recklessly endanger a good man`s reputation which Spidey , naturally , couldn`t allow in good conscience .

Yes, you're right that there are some creative advantages like letting there be a lot more anger with Harry towards Spider-man and I think a lot more denial with him as well. But Ultimate doesn't have as good fight sequences as Spectacular (something I think they should work on), but Ultimate's biggest disadvantages in my opinion are the jokes, they are immature, badly written, and badly timed. It feels like they try too hard to appeal to kids.

I wouldn`t call " With great power comes great responsibility " his core principle so much as a dictate that was forced on him by tragic circumstances and thus while he lives by it , he also resents it ! TAS and The Raimiverse should have made that blatantly obvious by now ! Also , if he followed it perfectly all the time it would not only be boring as Hell but it would blatantly go against Spidey`s flawed hero nature !
